Very nicely done game with a clear and quirky art-style that doesn't get lost to the overall messy nature of this type of game. While it clearly wears the inspiration from vampire survivor and brotato type games on its sleeve, it does so whilst adding in its own unique twist, or should I say loop.

Tape selection seems rather limited with the same options popping up all the time for me but for being made in 4 days the game is a masterpiece.

This would be a great game to see being taken beyond the jam.

Developer

Thank you a lot for your comment! It hasn't been decided yet, but if we continue working on the game, we will indeed add more cassettes. We'll start by adding the ones that were cut due to lack of time, then we'll invent new ones!

honestly a 10/10 game for the jam. super polished, great visuals and music. perfect, great work guys!

Wow, thank you so much!! We're very happy to hear it!

This is beautifully done, and I enjoyed playing it, and experimenting with different layouts. Eventually the enemies do crowd a bit, and none of them shoot projectile so you can easily kite them around. However, I can see more tracks or songs you can add that can help vary up the playstyle or different types of enemies with their own quirks for more difficult levels. Other than that, it's very wonderfully made and one of my favorites in the jam so far!

Developer

Thank you very much! Good observation: different enemies were intended, but due to time constraints, we only kept the “basic” behaviors. If we continue the game, we will bring back this variety! And yes, I'm really itching to make more music, with different BPMs, it would add a lot, and it was super fun to do!

Nice game, my favorite so far

Great entry to the jam! I love the color palette of the main character, and love the simple concept of adding powerups that go with the rhythm, well done :)

This game kicks ass. Sending out spells on the beat is such a simple and engaging concept, and the visuals are so polished. I love watching all the enemies just boppin along to the music. Great job!! Easily my favorite game in the jam so far.

Really glad that you enjoyed our game, thank you a lot!! We are very happy with what we have done, and it was great fun making the game!

Super fun, great aesthetic and art direction. Music was good too, which is obviously important if we're gonna listen to it over and over. Powers were interesting and I could sink hours into this I'm sure. Great game

Insanely good entry, as always with you guys!  I really had a blast playing this, perfect all around 👌

My winning setup was awesome, now I want to keep beating Baron Sleepyhead for 45 more waves!!

Developer(+1)

Wow, thank you so much! And thank you for sharing your build, it's very interesting to see it!

Encore merci, et dès que j'ai le temps je testerai ton jeu, hâte de voir ce que tu as fait !

Super creative take, the way your abilities loop and how you change them out is super fun. I caught myself bopping to it. Also love the art

Hi!

Very solid entry! Polished, fun, good looking, and I definitely was headbanging while playing!
I also really like that the game has a 5 waves system, which makes it shorter than survivor-likes games and fits a jam entry well.

The fact that money disappears at the end of each wave was a bit frustrating at first (as that does not happen in most survivor-likes, at least not the ones I've played) but is an interesting touch and invited me to play again and try to collect more before wave ends.
And I wish there was a way of healing up between waves (maybe there is and I did not see it though), for instance a cassette giving a few HP, that would be a tradeoff as you sacrifice damage on a beat to survive a bit longer.

Anyway, tbh there are not many negative points, overall the game is very cool! :) and an impressive amount of work even for a 4 days game jam.
Congratulations!

Developer

Thanks a lot for your comment! Indeed, there is no way to heal at the moment. If we continue working on the game, we will think about how to implement this, either through healing after each wave or cassette powers. Thanks again for playing!

Is this a full release commercial game? It certainly does feel like it!

Outstanding entry, especially for a 4 days game jam. It's just so good and fun, incredible level of polish and juice.

The introduction is fun and clear, gameplay mechanics are well explained. I love the art and animations, love the music, everything.

The survivor territory is overcrowded and yet you made me captivated by another one. I would gladly pay money for a complete game with this concept and level of quality.

Huge congrats!

Developer

Thank you a lot for playing, and for your comment! We don't know yet if we'll push the game further, but comments like this warm our hearts and encourage us to think seriously about it.

Soo good.

Wonderful packed experience, Love the character designs and tiny animations(The talking wizard animation is so cute!). The concept is a clever twist on a really fun formula, well done!
I like how some of the weapons synergize with each other and with the loop time, like how the ball lights on fire (so you want to put it near the start of a loop and then a bunch of fire after it)
This game could really be expanded  upon-things like adding more sounds except the shooting sounds, for example when picking up gems and getting hit etc.
Would also love to see more weapons and build variety.
Very good work.

Developer

Thank you very much,  really happy that you enjoyed our game! Absolutely, if we continue the game, there are lots of sounds we would have liked to include, and we will add cassettes and synergies between them!

Masterpiece, as usual!

Developer

Haha, thank you so much !

Don't really like Vampire Survivors type games, but this was still a neat concept

Loved the idea of crossing Vampire Survivors with a deckbuilder with a rhythm game. It doesn't hurt that it's so stylish either.

Does defeating the Baron in the final wave do anything? I saw him pop up but couldn't get in close enough to kill him.

Developer

Thank you a lot! No, the baron is just part of the final wave that you have to survive, but killing him doesn't earn you anything, at least not in the current version of the game!
