First of all, would like a windowed option since it full-screened on the wrong monitor immediately, but secondly, wow this is a good time. I love puzzles that are open-ended and require tons of thought, and this game has that in spades. Only thing I'd say is to make the scoring a bit more lenient and the map a bit more detailed, it felt incredibly specific and hard to parse the exact locations of things. Otherwise though, very very cool, would absolutely love to see this concept explored further.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and your feedback. We definitly set the difficulty level a little to high

Developer(+2)

Glad to see people wanting more of this game!

We're talking about how we could potentially expand on this project. Stay tuned :)

I love this idea, it really scratches that exploration and puzzle solving itch. One issue I faced was that the scoring was a bit finicky and overly punishing, but I think that could be easily fixed with some balancing!

This is beyond the scope of the jam, but I would love to see a full game with multiple levels with different environments. I think that could add some interesting variety in navigation due to varying terrain, obstacle, and landmarks! It could also allow for some nice environmental storytelling!

Well done!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoy it :D

Developer(+1)

We definitely didn't do a good job with the scoring system balance.

You're spot on with the ideas of different terrain/obstacles, we even planned for some environmental variations that would make the player think a little bit more outside the box to calculate certain distances but ultimately we didn't manage to execute this in time.

Thank you for playing!

beautiful game! the ambience was supe relaxing and i loved the cartography interpretation of the theme. reminded me a lot of return of the obra dinn and i love that game, so good job on that!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, we're happy to hear you enjoyed the game!

wow wow wow, this looks so good. the polish on this is immaculate (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Got a pretty bad score by the end, but I had a lot of fun doing the cartography bits! It's honestly something I wish games would do more often, so this was nice to see. And it's a fun take on the theme to boot. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! We  mess up a tlittle the balance system a few minutes before the deadline. How many points did you have?

Submitted

Sorry, I've forgotten at this point! But I know that specifically, the scale scores were almost all 0/2, but most of my position and rotation ones were 2/2. Getting the scale correct on any perimeter landmarks was definitely easier because you just had to line things up with the map's drawn lines.

Maybe something like this would be a bit easier if there were grid lines or something similar to help show how proportionate everything is? I know that would kind of defeat the purpose though, and isn't very pirate-y, so maybe not that specifically!

I like this take on the theme.  It took me a few tries to figure out the controls to manipulate the map pieces.

Developer

Thanks for playing :D

Submitted(+3)

That's a really nice game! It's very cool to find everything by yourself, but my score was terrible.

Developer

Thanks for playing! We definitly have pushed difficulty level a little bit to far :D

Everything about this entry is very polished! The art, the sound, the UI, and even the itch page! Really impressive stuff from everyone involved. I liked the concept of mapping the small island, could even see it made into a bigger game where you go to various small island to map them and uncover mystery.

I was a little confused by the step counting, is it by sound? Also couldn't figure out how to "beat", if there is way to do that?

Overall great job, y'all should be proud.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing. Yes, step counting based on footstep sound, to complete the game, you have to put some map pieces, then press the spacebar and find the X mark on the island to dig up the treasure

Submitted(+3)

This is so polished. Reminds me slightly of the TinTin movie. Very creative take on the theme. Great effort.

Developer

I'm glad to hear that. Thank you for playing!

That's a beautiful game! Great graphics! Good concept. Well done you guys should be proud!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kinds words! We are very happy to see people enjoy the game.

Gorgeous work with the graphics, but I have to admit that it was a little hard to get everything right. Maybe I'm a noob cartographer, though haha.

I can only imagine if you try to expand this game to have sea exploration as well. How hard (an awesome) could this be, in a true One Piece style?

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!

We made the scoring for positioning the map pieces way too strict, we'll be releasing a build with this fixed once the voting is over.

Submitted(+3)

Nice art and very original concept!

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+3)

Wow, what an awesome concept for the game. Pretty creative interpretation of the theme, and the art assets were real crisp too :D

Developer

Thanks :D

Highest i got was 26/48, i swear i had all the positions right but at most i would only ever get 1 position point, it has to be absolutely perfect but that feels impossible. But despite that, I had a really good time with the game and will be leaving good ratings. When i found the rum, the pirates of the caribbean fan inside of me got really excited and shouted something to do with rum, nice work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! If you had 26/48 you can say that you won the game because we set the difficulty level a little to higha few minutes before the end of the jam. So accept my congratulations for winning :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we royally messed up the position scoring threshold, it's incredibly hard to get them right even when you know where the pieces are supposed to be. I think the scale and rotation scoring isn't as strict.

Thanks for taking the time to play through the game a couple of times, we really appreciate it!

Submitted(+3)

Absolutely loved the concept and the style.  Those cursed circular rocks that took me forever to find.

Thanks for playing!

Very cool concept! I'm very bad at cartography & navigation, so I didn't get a lot right! But it's a very very unique idea with the prompt! :D

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy it

Submitted(+3)

I think I finished the map, I hit space but nothing happened, I'm not sure if I did it wrong or not xd

Apart from that the graphics are awesome, that shading fits everything perfectly!!

Also, I loved the fact that I'm a dog and I can see my paws

Great job! :)

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing the game!

If you had the prompt to finish the map and you pressed Space there should be a red X mark placed both on the map and in the world. You need to get to the X and dig up the treasure.

Submitted(+2)

Ohh I didnt saw it... Wait, I'll replay it xd

Developer(+2)

I guess we should have made it a bit more obvious hehe :)

Happy to hear you enjoyed the game enough to give it another try!

Submitted(+3)

Love the tropical graphics! Cute concept and we thought about maps scale as well during early development; so glad to see the concept being executed by you very well. Might be quite hard to get to the distance on exact point, but I understand that this game is short in time. Good job on the game!

Developer

Thank you for playing, we set the difficulty level a little to high  but we'll improve the game after the vote and you can give the game another shot.
