Fun game once I got the hang of the controls! I love the accurate scale too. Nice job!

Interesting idea of scaling larger through the mitochondira! I also think it's really lovely you made something with your partner :)

As other comments have said for the mac version there were a few issues of movement and controls. I think having a trail or indicator as to where you're facing especially if you have low ATP and your movement speed is slow. Overall good job!

Thanks arkicade!

I like the idea a lot! The style is cute, and I like the relation to the anatomy. There were quite a lot of bugs for me though on mac web.. Sprites were culled, images were cropped and couldn't click the button where it was - needed to click random places.

Developer

Ah that's too bad! Thanks for playing!

Had a hard time telling which way was forward on my cell but overall not bad!

Developer

Thanks!

Nice Job keep it up, although not anatomically correct showing something to represent the backend would be cool

I agree, I was working on adding a trail of energy behind mitochondria but couldn't get it working in time!

Our first animation had a single tail as well, but then it looked like a sperm and it was just not that way we wanted the game to be haha

Very original take to the theme, the movement was really hard to control tho I tried a few times but I never truly understood where or how I was going. But I love the concept and the artstyle!

it took me an embarassingly long amount of time to realize that the direction you move and the direction you attach from are on opposite sides. Once I figured that out, the game became a lot more fun. I think a simulation game was an interesting way to interpret the the idea of built to scale. I would have liked a bit more of the theme reflected in the gameplay, maybe through simulating more parts of the biochemistry?

Couldn't understand how to score points before I realized that I had been slamming my head into the cells and not my butt like the absolute buffoon that I am.

In all seriousness, great game! Art was simply delicious, I loved the shown progression of how you were affecting the body, and the movement was fun once you got the hang of it! Great game(By the way, my best score was 27) !

Flashbacks from school guarantee :D. Nice design and music. Great work!

Thanks a lot! ❤️

I really appreciate the design of connecting IRl biochemistry aspects to the game. I have always believed that good game designers have the ability to expose themselves to different fields and learn and incorporate them in an interesting way.
Good job! (but the control of the game was a bit hard to learn at first lol)

Developer

Thanks for your kind words!

Who knew biology could be that fun? Really funny and unique idea, you guys! I am glad I got to play this one. The only criticism I have is that it's somewhat complicated to control, but that's pretty much nitpicking.

Thanks a lot Jumi!

After the initial confusion about the movement it was a pretty enjoyable game. The music is familiar. Did you use the same one in a past jam?

Developer(+1)

Yes I did, no time for creating a new song in this short 4 day jam, so I used the song I created from my last game Bouncy Brew.
Thanks for playing!

Really cool idea and fun to play! And a "bit" addicting x)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you flo! I tried a bit too hard to make it look good this time but it's my second game and I really practiced juicyness, so I'm glad to hear it's addicting!

A bit hard to move & connect at first but it's a cool game!

I think my only complaint would be that I wish the front of the character was a bit more obvious, otherwise a fun little game. Got to 34 after a few tries and then stopped playing, but it looked like that was about when difficulty started to scale up a bit

I did not expect a gun lol. Very creative twist on the theme! I love how they are all to scale. Awesome stuff

Thanks a lot xLethargy! 😍

Neat idea, it's cool that (most of) the relative proportions of things are accurate.

Developer

Thank you!

This is a really unique idea! Unfortunately, I didn't find the movement too intuitive; I believe mainly because I lost track of where my butt is. Never the less, when I got going it was very enjoyable. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much Matt! Yeah I wish I had time to finish the trail effect I wanted to add behind the mitochondria. But the time was soo short! Thanks again!

This is a super cute and funny little game.

Creativity:

This game brings an interesting take on the theme, making the cells scaled (more or less) correctly to real life. It was really creative to make the player correct ATP and use it for movement.

Though in terms of movement it was really difficult to control the player, it was hard to see which direction the cell was pointing, and at the beginning i was just spinning franticlly.

The little images are super cute and funny, very creative.

Art:

The art is pretty good all things considering, i really liked the way the cells were drawn (especially the white blood cell :p ) and the animations for them were super fun. The background could use a little work, because you can see the texture borders when the background repeats (some programs let you see a repeated version of you art i recommend checking that out). The little cutscene arts coould use a little work, because they don't really fit the artstyle of the game imho.

Sound Design:

The music was fun and fitting to the style of the game. it wasn't annoying, and was quite nice. (Game could use a volume slider nonetheless and Godot actually can make them with like 3 lines of code).

The sounds were fitting, (shooting sounds for the guns would be nice though)

Overall a really fun and creative submission. Good Job! :)
