This was amazing! It was very fun with a unique concept, and it's super impressive that you made it in your own custom engine!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play the game ! Glad that you find it fun :)

Hi! Awesome job! The game is really fun! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! Glad that you find it fun :)

Great idea and music!

Developer

Thank you !

Well made and engaging game. It's very interesting to explore different possible strategies. And the 10-minute win threshold is well chosen, I just barely managed to win. The challenge makes it fun.

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play the game ! I didn' t want the game to feel to stretch and made the difficulty curve enough to not be able to survive too much longer after the 12 !

Well played for the win !

Wow, someone also made a custom engine! That's so cool! Can you maybe share what you used for the engine, like the programming language or the libraries? I would love to hear that

Developer(+2)

Thank you ! Yes i working on some devlog about the engine rn, I will post it once it's done ! But for now i am using C++ with SDL2 for the inputs and Emscripten for the webbuild ! Except for that everything else is mainly homemade, ranging from the UI, the Renderer to the Physics !

Cool concept!

At first I didn't get that you could stack blocks to build the towers and try to fill the field...But then it got easier :) I didn't pay really much attention to the type of blocks and just tried to create the highest possible towers. In the end, when it got pretty intense, I just placed the blocks everywhere to slow down the enemies, though I am not sure it worked, but I still managed to win :D

I would probably prefer to have shorter rounds but faster pace — I think it is pretty chill in the beginning for a long time. But it was fun!

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! That was one of the intended way of win ! :) I may need to make the round last only 7min or change the difficulty curve with some added miniboss in between ! I will test different things and see what feel the best !

Glad that you had fun ! And wp for the win !

Submitted(+1)

Great concept! had alot of fun trying different strategies. really cool that you made your own engine. could use some balancing to be a bit more challenging. i ended up just stacking all the blocks by type and not even thinking about the enemies.

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play the game ! I was thinking to add some terrain hazard or enemies with long rang attacks to destoy some random tiles on the map so this strat was not viable :)

Still glad that you had a lot of fun !

fun tower defense / tetris blend! i found the ui a bit difficult to understand so something a bit cleaner there would help

Developer

Thank you for the feed back ! The Ui in game or the one where it explains the rules ?

Submitted

mainly the one that explains the rules

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game! Love the tetris idea to defend and the fact that it's your own engine really cool ^^

Developer

Thank you ! :)

I didn't get the gist from the first play, but when I did – I got really excited! It's a really interesting idea. Maybe the game could benefit from a different perspective because it was difficult to understand the height of each building. Also, I was unsure how to play smart because it was difficult to remember what color does what. Overall – great job, amazing game!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play the game ! Yes i still don't have a clear solution for the tower height perspective which is a bit hard to see when they become to big :/ Maybe a clear outline or the ability to rotate the perspective of the camera ? I will try different thing and see what comes best!

Glad that you were excited at the end !

Interesting game! I wasn't quite sure what I was doing at times, I saw that the different colors did different things but then instantly forgot what effect they had once I was ingame. I also totally missed that I could stack the blocks at first but once I understood that it made a bit more sense :P

Developer(+1)

I wanted to make all the color block scale different value of the tower, and the lack of time made me keep a simpler game loop ! So i didn't want to overwhelm players with stat for a simple game !

Hope you still had a bit of fun with the game :) !

I had a lot of fun with this one! Trying to solve this 3D puzzle tower defence was super engaging, great job!

Developer

Thank you ! Glad that it was fun :)

This feels very good, the pixelart and effects are so good! This feels so polished! Please continue to work on this, I could see this as a good game for streamers to play! :)

Developer

It is not as polished as your ;) Thank you for taking the time to play my game !

Submitted(+1)

Very polished game, stacking pieces is a really cool mechanic. Maybe i would have put a little icon to show what color does for colorblind people. Great entry!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback ! I didn't think about that I will had a colorblind mode for the next releases !

A very interesting game! My playthrough went like this:
1m: what the heck does "check height" do? it always just shows 0 or 1
2m: i don't get it, but my random spam seems to be working
3m: OHH! you can stack on top!! that's clever!
4m: why don't i just stack all the same pieces on top of each other, then i don't have to think...
5m: i have an organized chaos of huge towers of the same piece, i'm unstoppable
6m: i'm rich
7m: oh no, the "pesky circles" are getting stronger... my towers will slowly fall...
8m: my king!! not like this!!
9m: oh wait, new towers crush circles?? SPAM CLICK AGAIN
10m: the circles may have destroyed my city, but we emerge victorious. hurray!!!

I quite enjoyed the progression of gameplay, even if it may not be what you intended... haha
I think the tower stacking mechanic could be really interesting in a puzzle context as well! Thanks for the game

Developer

Thank you for the playthrough, it is somewhat what I wanted people to experience with the game ! I just would have like if the stacking was more intuitive and the 7m OH NO was a bit earlier ! Glad you enjoyed the game !

Submitted(+1)

It's an impressive game that starts with a really great idea, although it's difficult to check the altitude and the game is simple. I'm looking forward to the game's development.

Developer

Thank you for playing ! Wanted to keep the gameloop simple to avoid scope creep but I will add more thing ! I will keep you in touch with the dev :)

this is addicting
also a custom engine?! that's really cool!!

elevation is a bit hard to see though

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing the game ! Yes it is a bit hard to see especially once the towers start to be really big ! I still don't have a clear cut solution for this but i hope it was not that tough to get accustomed to !

Submitted(+1)

Custom engine is very impressive! Especially with how great the graphics and gameplay is! well done! Fun take on a tower defence, pacing of the bad guys is a little slow, but so fun placing and stacking blocks, well done!

Developer

Hehe Glad that you had fun and thank you for playing the game ! I didn't find the balance in early to not get the player overwhelm but at the same time just enjoying placing some tower ! And at the end the difficulty spike quite a bit so it good that the player have time to build the tower !

Submitted(+1)

Congratulation for using a custom engine, that's a pretty cool result! It was a bit hard to see the elevation sometimes, but it was still a pretty cool and interesting game :D!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play the game ! Yes the elevation problem is quite an issue that I still don't have a good answer to :/ To makeshift a bit I put the elevation text when you try to put a tower at a wrong spot !

Submitted(+1)

it was a good solution imo! You were quickly able to see what part was wrong

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! I wasn't sure that it was clear enough but I see that at least it helped you :)

Submitted(+1)

First off, kudos to you for creating your own game engine. seriously impressive! This is a solid tower defense game that fits the theme nicely. I love how the same shape, or even smaller shapes, can be stacked. didn't catch that at first, but it's really clever. Looking forward to seeing more enemy variants in future updates!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing my game ! Yeah the more feedback I see the more i need to introduce the stacking mechanic early ! I will keep you updated once the game is bit more fleshed out ;)
