How does your game fit the theme?
The main mechanic of the game is that the playable character is a dragon which scales up as you progress through the game. We doubled down on the theme by using the other meaning of the word “scale” - the scaling up in length of the dragon is brought about by collecting a dragon scale. As your dragon increases in scale, the game difficulty scales up too. Accompanying the gameplay is a charming narrative which adds an element of the scale of time that the immortal dragon has endured.

super game and it's super polished you even added a story and you did your best to add voices XD
great job
Really fun and polished puzzle game! Great take on the theme and great visuals! Dragon egg!
This is a really cool game. The gameplay is an interesting fusion of Snake and Sokoban, and the aesthetic is very unique. The colours and line-art style are gorgeous, as is the ancient Chinese inspiration. There’s a layer of polish and sheen to everything I really enjoyed.
The story was also a neat addition - I love the idea of escaping from an underworld-type area, and the backstory had a very epic tone. I wonder what happened to that man the dragon mentioned… I actually don’t mind the voice acting, as although it doesn’t particularly sound like a dragon, I think it adds a neat personal touch.
In terms of gameplay, I really like the mechanics you introduced, and I wasn’t too bothered by the real-time elements, although I was never stuck long enough for them to become a problem. I would’ve loved some more challenging puzzles - even the last one wasn’t very difficult, and several I could just kind of walk through.I I think there’s still a lot more you could get out of this concept.
Really nice work!
The game is superb. My only complaint wold be the voice acting should have had some filter to sound more like a dragon. Non the less, the dragon scales.
The art was really great and the gameplay felt pretty polished. My only wish was that some of the later levels were a bit more difficult. Nice work on this game!
I love the interesting things you added to the classic snake game. Great work!
Fellow dragon games unite! I loved the optional collectibles. The serious tone of the writing and world's story really empowered the feeling of escaping to the sky at the end. I thought the timing-based obstacles were an interesting way to motivate quick thinking in a traditionally timeless puzzle game!
I love it so much! The level design is very well done. My favorite moment is at the end when you grow in scale. By the way, we can really see the inspiration from Tomb of the Mask :D
What an amazing game! I really liked both the art-style and gameplay. Really the only complaint I have is, as a few people here also pointed out, that the voice acting wasn’t really fitting and I could easily imagine that this game wouldn’t be any worse without it. Great job!
Nice style and nice level design. It is so morish! Regarding the voice acting, I really like the personal touch and the authenticity. But at the same time, I can't imagine a jaded dragon (according to the story, the dragon should be at least 100 years old) to have a voice like yours. All in all, I like the game. Thank you very much!
I love this game, I really like the style and the atmosphere. The voice acting is a little out of place with the style IMO, to have a more cohesive style I would have distorted and echoed the voice, to give it more of an aethereal presence, but fun puzzle game and very well presented.
Thank you for playing our game and sharing your feedback! To be honest, we had been in two minds about keeping the voice acting as authentic as possible as compared to adding on effects. We finally ended up with keeping it as is, but glad to know that the other way round would have been appreciated too:))
had a realy nice time ! the puzzles are on the point !
Not felt hold by the hand, and the progression is realy cool, each mecanic adds to the other.
Realy well crafted game, and Narative with Voice acting, are you kiding ? how did you manage to have the time for that xD
Great job !
Very cool game! I love the art and post-processing, it made it look super clean :))
Okay but how did someone managed to sound more like an AI voice than an AI voice
Anyways, it's a solid game I'd say. The levels weren't too difficult but I don't really see why you added timing-based obstacles, it doesn't really fit in a game that mainly consists of puzzles to solve. I mean Tomb of the Mask did that but there it's more timing focused.
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
What can I say.. I was voicing an AI trying to voice me.. haha.
Yeah I was torn about introducing the realtime components. You're right it's not genre pure.. I had a feeling that as you get longer without your speed changing.. adds a very interesting tension dynamic with realtime components. I guess that's the great bit of game jams...we can play test at scale and learn how to tune these things. Thanks again for the input here!
Great looking game, nice level design and puzzle mechanic, but definitely wasn't a fan of real-time traps and canons. They were fine and even cool at first, but later levels left no room for error, and that's when the game became more frustrating than fun for me. Also the voiceover, this is the first game from the jam I've played that has any, that was definitely a surprise! Acting wasn't perfect, but still it added to the experience. There's no way I would've read that much myself while also doing puzzles, but because of narration I got puzzles and the story at the same time.
