Good little game :3 I don't know if this was a thing, but a way to end your turn early and save which cards you had would have been good o: I feel like I spent a lot of turns wasting cards I didn't need >.<
nice idea! i was able to combine heart and attack together. seems like that is something funny to do and was able to attack the enemy, not sure if the enemy was getting "healed" by it
I liked the combining card mechanic. I'd spend the first few turns just scaling up my cards then crush the monsters in a single turn. Very cool!
Very cool interpretation of scale, the draft and combining element creates a very cool dynamic, congratz!!
Good idea, great adherence to the theme, I felt the scaling of the cards very much when combining them. My strategy was to take a few hits and never attack while combining as much cards as possible, after a few turn I would have enough hearts and shields to survive anything and continue to get my weapons higher and higher until I could just one-shot 25 life enemies in one turn. It was very effective.
I think I won the game, I got to wave 13 and then the enemies would just come back as if it was level 1, but I had the devastantin 13 level cards.
Also the shield doesn't work when the enemies use it (that's probably why I felt the game was so easy)
Good game, well put together, it became very addictive. I wish the difficulty would scale a bit more in the later levels
Thx for playing !
Didn't had much Time for balancing (donne that the las hour of the game) si yes it 's far from perfect ^^)
You found the 2 bugs I was not able to detect before the end of the jam
Neat game! Had a tone of fun playing it. I'm not a huge fan of slay the spire type of game but this one was really enjoyable. Great work, congrats!
Ok so I thought itd be really funny to put a shield on the enemy, imagine my surprise when it worked! Nice Game
its not a bug, its a feature xD
Thx for playing !
I loved playing this game! We also made a game based on Slay the Spire mechanics, and I think you’ll enjoy it. I really appreciate the simplicity of the gameplay, which might be one of the weaknesses in our own game.
I love it! It seem simple at first but then turns out to have some skill involved. I got stuck playing it much longer than I expected to. I glad a found this game =)
Thanks you for your worrd!
Nice game ! Had a lot of fun playin it and mashed my mind to pass the rounds :)
very interesting and unique interpretation of the theme. it got more enjoyable as soon as i found out that you could combine cards (i skipped tutorial on accidental misclick lol)
While simple, the game is really cool. The draft system is my favorite part because remnded me of the Hearthstone arena. Would be even cooler with more cards, but I can see how this can turn the gamer even hard to make and test within the jam schedule
Hey, thanks for playing and the words,
Yes HS Arena was a big ref (that and tryed to replay the MTG draft feeling that I used to do with friends when I was young ^^), And yes, ran out of time to add some depth on cards & combos mix, but I will push the concept I think, I have the guts that it can be a cool Deckbuilder ^^
Thank you for palying !
I'm a big fan of slay the spire and found myself playing until the final boss. It was fun finding the combinations for the cards!
thnks for the words, it means a lot
A nice card game, with classic mechanics but a really cool twist! It feels a bit unbalanced with the first enemy hitting you really hard before you can understand the fusion mechanic, and enemies after that hitting even harder 😅
I had a good time though, nice job!
Reminds me of slay the spire or rogue like card games and i love that so it was verry cool to play, good job
I've never played games like this before, but after trying this one, I want to explore the genre further. It seems like it could be really interesting. Great job!
ho thanks for the words !
If you like startegy'ish games,be carefull to the addiction, Deckbuilders are so cool
(The first one to put in on Video Game is Slay the Spyre, It was a realy bnig inspiration for my entry).
At the very basis, it comes from a Board game called Dominion (if you like Board games, it has a loooot of extentions and is realy fun too at 2/3/4)
(if it is not the first one with the concept it is the one that spread it to the world )
Cool gameplay with a good deckbuilding and cards stacking mechanic where the goal is to actually scale down the size of your deck by scaling up the strength of your cards.
A little too easy once you understood which mechanics to use, but actually balancing a game needs much more time than a jam so it's perfectly understandable
Great Job !
thanks for the word !
I was balancing waves in the last hours yeah so, it may be unbalanced ^^
Amazing, really
the gameplay mechanic is very unique, and i LOVED IT!
I could really see this made into a mobile game, it's simple, entertaining and always different somehow!
Love how some monsters want you to combine many cards for lots of rounds until you use it in the end destroying everyrthing lol, loved it, looking forward for a full game, really
If you ever decide to continue it, please let me know, i would love to play it!
Thanks for the word it means a lot !
I had this idea of tryinng to make a deckbuilder with this 2 pilars I miss in the onne I"ve played :
Draft like in my young age when I buy bunch of boosters of Magic and make rounds of draft to build our decks (this part I will try to sharp it to find back that feeling)
"Hard" choice between building up your progression during the battle, and figthing to survive.
And the Scaling theme of GMTK made me start the test.
I may plan to make a premium game on Steam thoo (but I will try to keep the scope as tiny as possible, I'm not a full dev, just a hobbyist for now ^^")
you can follow me on X (@Seto_Itchy31) even if I'n not realy "active" for now, but if I plan to try my hand on it, I will surely put my progress there !
So glad you liked it !!!!!
No problem, take your time
Like it when the care is sliced lol. The motions are really good, scaling my view on Godot in fact
Thx for the words !
Godot Can do soo much more (but we need to be creative sometimes ;) ), only has few hours before the end to add all the "polish" and the balance ^^
it reminds me of slay the spire i like that
that was my main inspiration !
