How does your game fit the theme?
In my game you have to decide the quests for the heroes, configuring each quest to fit the heroe abilities. Normally you'd play as the hero and pay little attention to this quest givers, so I thought to reverse the roles and let the player experience being a quest giver.

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

Yes

Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 48 hours?

I think the concept for the game is really good and there is a lot of potential to expand it. Right now it seems like there isn’t much incentive for gathering money.

Developer(+1)

Yeah the game has no goal right now, sadly I didn't had enough time. I'm working on an update, I'll upload it after the jam ends.

Thanks for playing!

Nice game, only that it looks like you can give random choices and they don't actually matter. Love the idea and i want to see how it will turns

Developer(+1)

Yep, right now the choices you make only affect the time it gets a quest to get completed. I'm currently working on an update to add quest acceptance percentages, death and much more.

Thanks for playing!

Really great  start to a quest giving game. The interface was easy to use and the art style was charming. I look forward to seeing more if you continue. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm currently working on an update, I'll upload it after the jam ends :)

I love the art style, probably my favorite art so far. I said this before but I definitly think you did the minecraft font justice. I would like the choices to do a bit more, it felt like I could just pick anything as long as I didn't lose coins, but it was fun to name quests and then see them get completed. overall, great job! keep up the amazing art

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm working on an update to make the decisions matter. I'll upload it when the jam is completed.

Loved the art style and the music choice is a jam. Would love to see expansion of the concept, right now I couldn't see how the choices I made mattered.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah right now there's no win condition. I'm working on an update to balance the game better and making it more entertaining.

Thanks for playing!

Great idea! I liked having a variety of people who want a variety of quests. Great music and visuals too.

Developer

Thank you!

great idea if expand would be an amazing game. currently get boring quickly

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'm working on an update to expand the game, I'll upload it when the jam ends.

Definitely could use some form of ending. I'd like to see this taken further, perhaps with character level scaling. Like giving easy quests for low level characters and working your way to difficult quests for high level characters. Overall, it's a very fun idea to play with. I enjoy the art a lot.

Developer

Level scaling is a great idea. Currently I'm working on an update, so far I have death probabilities when completing quests and heroes can even refuse quests (if you dont pay them enough)

Thanks for playing!

I always wondered what it would be like to be an NPC.  I know it wasn't intended but the lack of an ending does kind of sell the monotony of being an A.I. Great Job!

Developer

Thanks!

Nice art, but sligtly meaningless gameplay

Developer (1 edit)

Yep, I had no time to include a proper win condition or even balancing.
Thanks for playing! I'll update the game after the jam ends.

I think it's funny how you can give away all your money for a quest and then lose the game instantly.

Its short and lacks depth, but I enjoyed making dumb quest names and watching the characters go off and be forced to "Pick up sticks" for 3 minutes, or have someone "Kill the townspeople" for 30 gold and have someone else "Protect the townspeople" for 10, simultaneously fulfilling my psychopathic needs.

Follow up: I also had no idea what the numbers in the top left were for, I thought them going up was a good thing. I didn't mind too much, but I think in your next update you should definitely tell the player what those are for and what they do (unless it did tell me and I'm just incompetent).

Developer

Yeah I had no time to implement win/lose conditions properly haha.

The initial idea was to keep the numbers on the top left as low as possible, and if you reach a high number is game over.

In the next update I'll explain things properly. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Fun idea! We don't realize that it is that fastidious to give quests to every random guy asking for them ahah.
Totally fits the theme :)
Great job!

Developer

Thank you!

Nice to see another quest giving idea! aha

Developer

Yeah there are a bunch of submissions with that idea :P

Feels like game with completed style and idea. I know this has no end, but I even tried to decrease resources to zero - to resolve problems in this kingdom.

I have one suggestion:
You  maybe could show the name of the quest entered by the player after quest finished or in the other situation. Because now the obligation to create a name for the quest
sounds some useless and maybe boring

Developer

Hi, thanks for playing!

When a hero completes a quest, a pop up appears in the down left corner, showing the name of the quest. Maybe is a bit subtle or not working at all in this build 😅

Did you managed to decrease the resources? I'm planning on updating the game but in this version I dont know if its possible.

Submitted

I'm so inattentive! Yeah, name of the quest really appears in the down. Sorry:))

And no, I didn't manged to decrease all resources. I can decrease only one of four resources. It was just interesting to check if maybe something happens in result

Developer

No problem, I think the pop up is hardly noticeable :P I'll make it more readable in the upcoming update.

Very cute artwork. I love relaxing games.

Developer

Thanks!

I found the game fun, creative, and beautiful! Is there an end to the game? If so, I don't know what score I need to reach it. Also, if we take our time to create a quest, our resources increase indefinitely without any penalty. Maybe the adventurers leave if we take too long to respond to them? Anyway, I had a great time, thank you!

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing!
There is no end to the game right now (unless you decide to spend all your gold). The resources are meant to be "issues" the heroes have to deal with, when completing a quest the numbers are deducted. The idea I had in mind is to have a game over condition when those resources increase to a high number, but sadly I didn't had enough time to implement it.
I'm working on a more completed version of the game, I'll probably upload it when the voting period ends. I really like the idea of the heroes leaving if you take too much time, I'll try it to see how it goes.

Thanks again!

That's quite a clever role reversal, cool game mechanic! Lots of potential! Good job! :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

If i reward everyone with 1 gold? Its like i cant lose?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I didn't had time to balance the game and implement proper win/lose conditions. This is more like a prototype

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

yep, do check our game as well :

Developer

Will do! :)

I liked the open endedness in what you could create. Though a bit more strategy would be nice. I think if you had a mode where you tried to get as much money in 20 turns as you can and quests took x turns instead of x amount of time so people can take their time and name their quests.

Developer

Thanks! Never thought about the urgency of naming the quests, as the game is in real time, but you are totally right. Great idea about the turn based mode :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice! I also made a quest giving game but I think yours is implemented well. I like the idea that you are crafting sliders. I think it would be cool of you had puzzle pieces like one piece that says "Colect..." and another that says "...5 Skeletons" or something along those lines. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The puzzle idea is great, I might try it :)
