Amazing idea and gorgeous art! Gameplay so neat. =)
Well done!
So original idea! Love the gameplay too! Art and music are perfect. Awesome game guys!!!
Okay, that was quite challenging lol I feel like some adjustments on the fireballs from the sun would already help the gameplay a lot, because it felt a little off how slow the fireballs moved compared to how unpredictable the Icarus' movements felt. I liked the art style and music, and it cool to be the sun this time, interesting twist in the Icarus story. I liked it, congrats :)
I really liked the game:
-The art is neat, strong references to mythology, love it
- It's not as easy as it may seem, especially after defeating the first enemy.
- The music is thrilling.
- Theme nailed perfectly
Defects:
- The controls aren't the best to me: I have a mini keyboard and giant hands(i get the irony of that) and I wasn't able to aim properly. I would have used a mouse input.
- It wasn't clear that I WAS THE SUN. I was trying to move Icarus and Daedalus in the beginning: the game starts with the two of them and there was no feedback. Even though it may seem clear to you, it doesn't go the same way for players: guide them as they were kids.
Thanks!
Love the theming to it! Controls on the sun feel a bit off to me personally (Would much prefer the option to aim with the mouse) and the enemy movement was random so difficult to predict. The satisfaction in bashing Icarus down into the sea with your face was pretty nice though!
nice art!
This. Was. Incredible.
A little game, but the polish is extreme. I love everything ! The smoothness of the controls, the challenge, the music, the artwork, the animations and the juice... wooow.
If there was one negative point, it would be the size of the controls in the description of the game but, yeah, you can't be perfect.
Super cool game! I love the presentation and art. The pixel art style especially I think is a big standout!
Interesting take on the theme! It's my first time seeing reversing the story and I love it, tho I hate the one who had the tank build, took me 3 tries to sink him. lol. Good job!
That was really impressive :) I like how you included better dialogue control, it was nice to see something like that for once
Fun take on a shoot-em-up with a very charming presentation. Well done!
Icarus flew too close to me and I got him for that, so overall pretty accurate on that haha!
Nice game :) Is it just me or is Deadalus way better at dodging than his son is?
He’s older and wiser 😉
Novel idea, and well executed!
I particularly enjoyed ramming into Icarus and sending him flying across the screen. Serves him right.
Nice game ! You did a very good job with the sprites and visuals, and the gameplay loop is good ! Congrats !
I like your choice of story. It has determined all you game design element and made the whole very coherent and very pretty.
For a post-jam version, It would be cool to have more stories like Icarus, but with other characters and with each its own gameplay. Like David and Goliath, or Sisyphus and all the other...
Good job !
Really cool game, the idea is beautifully executed! Well done
Short, but really well put-together experience. I applaud the restraint on scoping, and it clearly paid dividends in the game's presentation.
Love this twist on the classic Myth. It wasn't Icarus' hubris and overexcitement that killed him. It was the sun shooting fire balls and barreling towards him a high speeds xD
The demise of men because of the questionable wrath of the gods is very classic for an Antiquity tale though! It's a spin on a classic tale, but it still feels authentic! Personally, I love that the sun sounds like he is shooting wet paper through a straw when conducting his divine punishment.
Very unique concept. The art and the sound fit together very well. It was kinda hard to land the shots but a solid submission nonetheless!
