Pretty cool game! Volume slider was a nice touch, art was nice, and game had some difficulty to it. Overall, a pretty good game, hope to see more things added in the future since it has a lot of potential to grow.

Creative and challenging game. It makes me think of God of War somehow. GG!

Developer

Thank you very much, and that... sounds like a good thing! :D

Loved the submission, also, the music slider looks adorable. Art looks cool, concept is really fun. Well done!

Great job! I like the custom volume control bar :) One thing I noticed was that while he shot his lasers, any contact would go against you instead of help you so maybe some sort of distinction needs to be made there. Overall, good work in 48 hours

Thank you for the feedback! :)
Yeah, the hitboxes are a bit unforgiving, especially in later levels, when the shape of the shot is an x. If we get back to the game, we will definitely look into that!

It's really fun, I love it.

Love the theme and the idea of a tired and fed-up god is cool 🌞 I found it really difficult! But the art and music work really well, and I am a particular fan of the UI. Really polished entry.

Thanks for the review! Yeah... it is really difficult :D And thanks for the compliments to our artists, it has been relayed to them c:

Hahaha, I like the take on the theme, for once it is kinda anoying to be too powerful, great game!

Developer

Thank you very much for the high praise :)

Really nice game ! It is pretty hard, and the gameplay can get repetitive, but this could be an actual game with more time! Maybe powerups that upgrade your attack, but make it heal you less, or things like that. Though it would probably need anotyher context than "you want to die" for it to make sense

Hi, dev (and Composer) of this game here!

We actually floated the idea of buffs/debuffs and other modifiers to both enemies and Ares early in development, then quickly realized how out of scope that'd be for a 48h jam.

That is actually part of the reason we chose this themeing for our game in the first place, since it's pretty easy to explain why other greek gods would "buff" or "nerf" Ares, to help him in trying to die or stop him from doing so, just to troll him, since that's about par for the course for greek mythology!

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback :) We definitely overshot a bit on the difficulty. And yeah, more mechanics is definitely an idea if we decide to do further development on the game ^-^

Really difficult game! I struggled getting past level 2 and couldn’t make it past 3. But it’s a very creative idea. I like the premise, and I liked the hand-drawn style of the graphics. Good work!

Developer

Thank you for the review :) The game is indeed hard, none of us managed to beat the last level during the jam...
