This is a cool idea and it looks and sounds really great! I found the AI to be a bit hit and miss, as sometimes it would have clear shot to the next zone but would instead randomly hit the ball straight up or into a wall it was touching, which brought the ball back to its original position. After doing that a couple times, it finally takes the sensible shot it could have taken in the first place?

But it's a neat concept, well made given the time constraints, and the polish is really nice!

Developer(+1)

Thanks James!

There is actually no AI, the robot follows a pretermined stroke sequence, but I definitely agree we could have done a better job of explaining and show this to the player haha, thanks for the feedback

Damnn!! atta!! designing and effects,

well implemented if controls get a bit user friendly this game is the best!!

Great job developers and designers :)

Developer(+1)

Hey Jerry, thank you, it means a lot to read this! We already have a few ideas in mind if we ever decide to continue this game :)

Good luck :)

Awesome game. Reminds me of The Incredible Machine. Good job getting it all done within 48 hours.

Developer

Yeah! I got the same reference from a friend after the game was done, guess it was sitting in the back of our heads somewhere during those years haha, thank you!

Submitted(+1)

I love it! Such an advanced game in 48 hours is insane!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We had a lot of work, but it was lots of fun as well :)

Submitted(+1)

Decent levels and polish. Camera control is a bit wonky but otherwise everything mostly works well. This is nice if youre into this kind of game

Developer(+1)

Thanks Bolt!

Submitted(+1)

Nice work!

Just one thing - I would love to be able to zoom out to view the whole map...also controlling the camera is a bit wonky

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!

Be sure to check out my game too!

I'm getting this error when I launch the game: SecurityError: Failed to read the 'localStorage' property from 'Window': Access is denied for this document.

Sorry :/ .

Developer

Hey! This must be some browser security setting, we use localstorage to storage player progress, I am sorry that this is making you unable to play

Submitted(+1)

Nicely done! I found a little frustrated that the behavior of the player is not always the same - for the same configuration but later in the field, sometimes he kicks the ball in the air, sometimes he faces the wrong way… it seems to be predetermined? But I am really nitpicking here, for me it deserves 3x5 stars :)

Developer

Appreciate the feedback and ratings <3

The strokes are predetermined indeed, for example, in level 2 it will always be "strong forward", "strong up", "strong forward", "strong backwards","strong backwards", or something like this haha. But we could have done a better job of displaying this to avoid confusion :)

Submitted

No problem, 48h does not leave much time for playtesting!

Really beautiful game, and overall really fun too!

My only real criticisms would be
- I wish that there was some way to see the "end" of the last attempt (either show the end of the trail, or pause the game when the ball is being considered "dead")
- I felt that the score being "how many strokes needed" in the final solution was a bit silly, because it almost all cases (if not all?) you can grantee that you can do it in a single hit, which meant that you could really do anything to "improve" in a rewarding manner.

Developer(+1)

Thanks Woot!

Regarding the feedbacks, point 1 makes a lot of sense, I personally agree it would be a great quality of life change!
Regarding point 2, we had a plan to keep track of replays needs, strokes needs and amount of props used, and set a "score" based off of that, but at the end, there was no time. But I 100% agree with you on it, it would make replaying more engaging :

What an incredible submission. I would lose hours to this game if you could make the physics deterministic.

Well done! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you Bladaa! We thought of the same thing, if we ever decide to move on with the project, first thing we would fix would be the physics. Glad that you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! Good job!

Developer

Thanks Daniel!

Submitted(+1)

Pretty funny, but really inconsistent (especially with the goo) and really hard to get it right.

Developer(+1)

Appreciate the feedback! Being hard was part of the plan, the incosistency is something we wish we had time to work on a bit more :)

Really great game with amazing graphics and a fun core loop. I would've liked a speed-up button for when the balls running it's course but that's not really a deal breaker. Levels were thought-provoking and I really enjoyed playing!

Developer

Appreciate the feedback Alexio, will pass the compliments to our level designer,  we are glad that you enjoyed the game!

Time flew so fast I didn't even notice it! Brought me back to the good old Newground days.

The level design was great! Really had to think about how to solve each one of them. Unfortunately, the robot hitting the ball a second time wasn't very reliable, so I had to restart every time I couldn't make a hole-in-one (it was probably more fun this way anyways). And it was kinda annoying how, without changing anything, sometimes I would get different outcomes when hitting the ball (probably due to fps or something related to the physics engine).

Still a pretty fun experience. I had a great time!

Developer

Appreciate the kind words and the detailed feedback! The direction/strength of each stroke was pre determined, but we could have done a better job of displaying that information. Other than that, the non-deterministic physics was something we realized and wanted to fix, just didnt had the time.

Overall I am glad this didnt affect your experience that much, thanks for playing!

Great game! was a bit confused by the rotation. Couldn't figure out how to do that. But overall very creative.

Developer

Thank you! It was mentioned in the tutorial text in the first level, but I can understand how that can be missed. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This is really nice. Only thing I wish it had is a fast-forward button for when he keeps hitting the ball.

Developer

Thats a really nice idea we hadnt really thought of! Thanks for the feedback

Really cool game! I had a lot of fun, though I did have a few occasions where the ball wouldn't always react the same between hits. Still really enjoyed it, great work!

Developer(+1)

Yeah haha, somewhere along the way of adding new props and levels, we lost the deterministic nature of the physics, but had no time to investigate further. Glad you enjoy the game even so!

Submitted(+1)

Great game, that looks and sounds very polished. The only thing that kind of ruined the fun for me is the lack of the zoom out function.

Really great job!

Developer

Appreciate the feedback! It is a great idea

Submitted

Just wanted to clarify, because I think my first comment sounded a bit harsh: This was like the only thing to critique for me.

Your game is really great!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game! The concept is great, and I love how many different ways you could go about solving a level. As others have said, a zoom out feature would be really helpful!

Developer(+1)

Appreciate the feedback, thanks for testing and game out and I am glad to know it was a good experience for you! Also thanks for the feedback, if we proceed iterating over the game, we will consider it!

Submitted(+1)

I loved the game! It gave me the good old Nitrome games vibe, with simple yet challenging and intriguing gameplay. I've got nothing to add upon SoysCodingCafe's feedback

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it! I also felt the retro arcade game website feel
