Nice interpretation

Great take on the theme! The timer makes it a bit tedious but the concept is really cool, nice tiles too, well done!

Nice idea and cool implementation! Congrats!

I like what you've done ! How do you manage 2players putting a different tile at the same spot ?

Developer

Thank you!
The block placement is handled by the server, so if you put a block in a cell and another player at the same time does the same thing in the same cell, the server will handle the block placement request that come first, when the second request is analyzed the grid will already have the space occupied by the first player so the server will send to the client a message to advise that that cell is occupied, and you will not be able to place the block.

Hum could be interesting to have some pointer to share the fact that many ppl are connected and where are they "on the map" and see ppl moving their cursor each tick.

So the feeling of creating something with ppl would be enhanced and you could avoid(or not) crowded zone.

That's a really clever idea. Ambitious for a games jam too! I really enjoyed exploring off the edge of the known map for a while, and contributing a bit to the centre structures too.

Interesting idea, maybe make the multiplayer clearer.

Ooh, this is fascinating! I would make it more obvious that this is being played live with multiple other players (potentially), as it took me a minute to realize that, and I thought the turn timer was pointless and made the game needlessly boring. It makes sense to have a timer so players don't go wild I suppose, but wouldn't that be more fun? I would suggest maybe a timer is not needed. Or maybe you are trying to pad out the time it takes to discover the whole map?

Well done!

Thank you for your comment.
The game was designed to be played with a good amount of players, sadly we did not achieve that amount, and the game could results a bit boring to be played. the timer was added for multiple reasons: one of those was to encourage the players to come together to build and explore the map. sometimes we achieve that and sometimes not. all of that depends on the type of player that played the game.

Surely at the end of this. we will write a small paper of this silly experiment describing what we observed.

Like others have said, really cool concept!

I think it's the first GameJam game I've seen that's online, and definitely embodies "Joined Together"

Really interesting concept! It'll be cool to come back to this in a few days and see what's changed.

Cool game!

This should be huge! Really cool concept. Hope you have a really interesting result by the end!

Interesting concept

might be a good idea to give the block names, it's not obvious what some of them are

maybe some audio feedback too

This is a fantastic idea that deserves more attention. I hope you can spend more time developing it further.

You should post it to other places to get more interaction.

Interesting interpretation of the theme, I like your art

I love the idea. I'm lacking the patience to sit and play though.
