Really fun golf game! It looks nice, and the central mechanic of the game is just really fun to use! The crashing issue is a shame, but otherwise I really liked it!

Developer

Thank you! That main mechanic was actually a fluke of my original design, but I really liked how it felt so kept iterating on it instead of figuring out how to get rid of it haha

This is such a cool idea that fits the theme so well--it's a shame that it crashes so frequently. Controlling the ball was difficult at first but I eventually got the hang of it. I would definitely play a post-jam version that fixes the crashes!

Developer

Thank you! Fixed version is going up as soon as they let me :)

Looks nice and plays solidly (except the known crash of course).

I personally would prefer mouse control to aim the ball, just to have a precision closer to whjat you'd get with a analog stick. But I do see the point of exact timings for things like time attack to get to that 7 sec hole :D

Nice Work, looking forward to play the post-jam fixed version.

Developer(+1)

I'm gonna be messing with mouse control soon, I have some ideas for how it could work.

I too look forward to putting out the post-jam versions with extra bells and whistles :D

The game looks very fun to play and can easily be expanded into a coop game. Sometimes my control messed up (up swapped with down, just after I pushed the ball in opposite directions), but it goes away shortly after and I get back the good feeling of the game. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! I don't think it's exactly the controls getting inverted, more a quirk of how the movement and slamming works. Movement is force based, and slamming depends on the physical position of the objects (not directly based off the user input).

Curious what your thoughts are for co-op?

Submitted(+1)

Really fun concept and cute graphics, good job!

Submitted(+1)

Oh no, the crashes. This game looks, sounds and plays so well, but only for about 30 sek. at a time for me. Please, please, please upload a fixed version after the jam! :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I am pretty sure I found the issue and have it fixed. As soon as I can, post-jam I'll get that build up and replaced here

Submitted(+1)

This is a really good game! We love it! Unfortunate about the bug, but that happens sometimes when jammin'. The only improvement we can think of is that we'd like an arrow pointing to the direction of the goal! Overall a super nice game!

Developer

Thank you! I really like that idea, I think I'll add it to the fixed version :D

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the game, the visuals, the artstyle and the music! Only problem were the crashes, but other than that I greatly enjoyed my time! Having time-attack and par modes was a nice addition.

Great job!

Developer

Thanks! Par was actually a last minute addition, but honestly I think it's my favorite of the 2 modes

Really enjoyed playing. Crashes are understandable, it was made in 48 hours. The graphics are awesome too. Simple mechanic, hard execution

Developer

Thank you :D

Submitted(+1)

Aside from the crashes, the game is beautiful and the sound design is nice. It would probably be easier to control with a controller or the mouse, nice game tho and the mechanic is interesting.

Developer

Thank you :) I'll definitely be adding gamepad support, and experimenting with mouse control

Submitted(+1)

Aside from the crashing, this game is extremely polished! Even the menus feel good to use.

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

With the crashes aside, this is a very cool game with amazing graphics!  Mechanics are flush and working so well.

This can very well be a 2 player game.

Glad you ended up with that main menu design :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm super bummed about the crashes, and kicking myself for not adding a level select at the beginning, but I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

What are your thoughts for making it 2 player?

Submitted

Don't stress yourself about it! You've done a great work on it!

For 2 player game, either blue/red golf balls can be the win condition, but let them be controllable with WASD / Arrow keys respectively. It can be a fun casual game to play with friends!

Submitted(+1)

Unfortunately as mentioned, the crashes make this a little too hard to persevere with. But from what I played it seemed interesting, I like the artwork and the theme of golf + pinball.

Developer

I'm really disappointed in the crashing, but glad you enjoyed it :)

I figured out the issue, but too late to update the game sadly. I believe I have an in game work around if you want to try again before I can officially update it.

Submitted(+1)

Of course, what do I have to do?

Developer

Crashing seems to happen when the in level timer reaches 2 minutes. If you play in "Time Attack" you can see the timer, then pause the game before it reaches 2 minutes and select "Retry" to reload it

Submitted

For me the crash is occuring almost immediately

Developer(+1)

Well there goes that theory. It was pretty reproducable for me, but that is unplayable. I am so sorry.

Submitted(+1)

Also I just noticed the pun in the name. Nice!

Submitted(+1)

cool games although the controls are a bit tough to learn. Enjoyed the theme tho was a pretty cool idea of a game!

Developer

Thanks :D when I can update it, I'm definitely adding joystick controls. Maybe mouse, will see how that feels.

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

fun! i agree with some other comments that the arrow controls are a little goofy and it'd be cool to see further in the direction you're aiming but smacking your balls together feels great (don't take this out of context PLEASE) and i appreciate the time attack mode so you can just go at it without strategizing too much

Developer(+1)

Now that I've got some distance I totally agree. When building it I didn't see it as an issue, but when I can update it I'm definitely adding gamepad and maybe mouse controls. And I'm thinking some zoom out based on how stretched the balls are..

(+1)

The moving walls were a cheap shot! Pun intended. You can't see further, so no aiming for the sweet spot where and when the balls will flight to the hole. Moving with the arrows is frustrating. It is possible to hit the ball from every angle, but it is annoying to try and hit in the right angle at the right time.

Developer(+1)

Agreed - when I can update I'm gonna add gamepad and maybe mouse control, and some zoom out when you stretch

Submitted(+1)

Love the concept. Did miss some way to graduately control (with a mouse and dragging or something). The arrows felt a bit too direct. Could never finish within the par :P

Developer

Par is definitely possible for each level, though I probably should have been more forgiving ^^;

I'm gonna add gamepad and maybe mouse support when I can, gotta figure out how that will play though

Submitted(+1)

Very creative take on the theme and quite unique ! Love the art of the game btw ;)

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Love this one, it's unique, fun to play and I love the aesthetic. Give it mouse controls and it would be the perfect game! Definitely one of my favourites of the jam.

(I crashed on level 5)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I think I have a work around for the crashing if you want to try again. Also,  how would you envision mouse controls working?

Submitted(+1)

I think for mouse controls it'd be click and drag the blue ball into position and then release to fire it off. If you've got a less crashy version then I'd definitely be up for playing it!

Developer

I'll play around with that when I've got some time.

I've got it fixed, but can't post it here till after the jam per the rules. In game, the crashing seems to happen when the timer gets to 2 minutes in a level, so you should be able to pause and retry the level before this happens. You can see the timer in "Time Attack" mode, it's not visible in "Par" but it's still running.

(+1)

This is top notch. Takes a concept I've seen so many times in this game jam and made something fresh and fun out of it. Looking forward to seeing this fleshed out more!

Developer

Thanks! I'm definitely fixing some things post jam, and depending on how well it does I'm very open to adding more levels and obstacles :D
