I loved how the little buds followed you around and how their jumps were delayed. I also liked how if you walked them next to each other and released the bungee, they would start following each other instead of you, allowing you to control them without them being tethered to you. They couldn't jump, but it was cute how they looked like they were hugging each other.
The sound of the music was perfect for the setting, and I never noticed it looping; it was so good.
Well done. I wouldn't be surprised if this game gets in the top 20, or even the top 10!
Thanks for playing! :) I think that might have actually been a bug you encountered not a feature lol But at least it was a cute bug! :3 Thank you so much for the kind words!
Very well made! The art and music are great together, the controls feel (mostly) great, and the core mechanic is solid. Maneuvering a longer chain felt a little wonky, especially in the last level when I grabbed the bud in the pit, then ran away too quickly and trapped multiple down there. The saws break the pace a little bit since they're significantly harder to jump over when moving the same direction as the player. I could see this being fleshed out into a really fun full game. What if you had multiple bud types that 'disliked' each other? As in, you could only build chains of blue or green buds separately, but still had to solve puzzles with both types. It's a great sign that I want to develop ideas in this world. Means you've got something engaging and special on your hands. Great job!
Thanks for playing! :D I love all these ideas! There were a lot of mechanics I had in mind that I just wasn't able to explore in the 48 hours, including having different types of buds with special abilities - being able to swim in water, push/carry objects or even explode & break certain walls/floors (heavily inspired by Pikmin of course). I'm definitely considering making this into a full game and exploring all these ideas. Thank you for the wonderful feedback! I greatly appreciate it :)
My dev! Anything inspired by pikmin MUST be good. I'm excited for what you do with it <3
The art and level design is great, I also really liked the main mechanic, well done!
Love the art. Jumping felld awesome. The wiggly animations are nice. The last level really is challenging but I had a lot of fun playing the game!
Very original and interesting level designs!
Great idea for the theme, fantastic implementation! I had a lot of fun. I can totally see this game being top 20
This is both adorable and fun.
Very nice! Cute looking and decent puzzles :)
Fun simple game! Nice puzzle variety!
Excellent game! Simple mechanics with creative puzzles, and great artwork, music, and game juice
(This game reminds me of mobile games like Zombie Tsunami lol)
Cute, fun and innovative great work!
I loved it!
The mechanics are very original and the gameplay was fun. An excellent game to be further developed into something bigger.
I really liked the simple music, but fully functional and in keeping with the soul of the game (fun and relaxed).
Congratulations!
Hello! We like the idea and execution of your game a lot. We feel this could totally be a small puzzle game with just some tweaking with how you connect with the small buds! It would probably be a good idea to automatically restart the level when you lose a bud since it generally means you can no longer win. We think you probably can get rid of the mouse interaction entirely and just have a connect/disconnect key. We like it. Well done! And nice polish.
Thanks for playing! So, I didn't want to force a reset when the game was in an unwinnable state as the player can still move around and may still wish to scout out the level before restarting, but I probably should have added a popup message stating the level is in an unwinnable state and to press R to restart. I'll definitely consider your suggestions regarding controls if I ever decide to further expand upon this game. Thanks for the feedback! :)
Good idea! it got a bit difficult to add new members to the queue when there were more than 3, but the levels where fun to play
This was a really cool and fun game. You did a great job on this one!
Nice idea, the controls have just enough precision to feel good. The levels are a bit on the long side, and basically one death of you or the critters results in a loss. Very cute game!
Thanks for the feedback! :) I had originally wanted to make more smaller levels, but instead opted to just combine them into bigger levels to cut down time spent on level designing. I had also considered possibly using checkpoints for some levels, but again just not enough time to implement unfortunately.
Very cute game! Fits the theme very well.
One of the better games where you have a literal connection to other objects. Very solid platform!
really great game!!! super cute too and can you check out my game?
This game was extremely charming! I love the central mechanic too, and the level of control given.
