Love the art. Want to see it release :)

Developer

Aww thank you! If we have the time, it would definitely be cool to do an official release!

So good! Had a great time playing this one. Really great visuals.

Very polished entry! Superb look and feel! First time around cpu died and I had no idea what I was doing and the second time around I was succesful but still had no idea what I was doing.. so .. I think it checks out! Great work!

The game looks great! Very finished quality to it. I'd be interested to see where you take this great start of a game! Maybe different baby bot types or more spread out levels with multiple charging ports. Excellent job on this Jam!

Really well polished game, and the gameplay was executed well, even if it was a bit simple.

This is so cute! :D Love the art! Wish it had arrow controls or azerty controls as well! :D

Aww thank you!! ^^

It's a really cute game. The BGM was too loud IMO, but its addictive gameplay and cute art make up for it. Great job!

Developer

Oh dear, I hope your ears are okay!

Extremely polished game with original idea. I'm waiting for more levels to pass :)

The art in this game is amazing. Really pretty. The mechanic of having to shoot the babybots is fun but I feel like it could have been explored a little more. Maybe with some more levels with obstacles and maybe enemies that try to take energy from the babybots. The idea has really good potential.

The art and animations are so polished and it is fun , although its relation to the theme might be weak , nevertheless good job !

Developer

Thank you so much for trying the game! :) Really appreciate it! Yea we had a feature we wanted to implement that would make the BBbots join up but we couldnt make it in time. That would probably really push this game alot further!

Simple yet fun. Maybe even too simple. However the game is very polished and pretty as heck, so that really makes it up for it!

Simply awesome!

I really liked playing this submission. The overall presentation of this game is just amazing.

As for gameplay, i was missing a little more variety in shooting the babybots.

Overall this is a pretty good game. Great work.

Thank you for trying out the game! Yea we wanted to shove in another feature to make the gameplay loop feel better but we ran out of time :( We had to cut our game time in half because of it. Once agin thank you so muhc :)

The artwork is very cute and tutorial is great. Also the game fits the theme of the jam very well. It would be great if the gameplay had a little more variety, but it's just 48h. Well done!

First of all, amazing job on the visuals and the audio. This is absolutely the best looking game I've played so far. The dialogue is super cute, and I also really like how the main menu has some interaction going on. The lighting effect when you go on the charging pad is super cool, and I like how you put the battery charge indicator on the player itself instead of on a UI. In terms of polish, you guys nailed it.

The gameplay itself could use some improvement though. It's extremely easy, and there isn't really anything challenging or new popping up throughout the game. It's basically just shoot some bots, run out occasionally, then shoot more bots. I noticed that you can even keep the other bots dead as long as you keep one alive, so there doesn't seem to be an incentive in shooting all of them.

I also think the theme could have been implemented better. I really, really like the concept of babybots being linked to you, but if linking up did something gameplay-wise other than make a visual effect, then I didn't notice it. As of right now, you could remove the link-up effect entirely and it wouldn't change the game much.

What I'd do to incorporate the theme is to have linked babybots shoot bullets whenever you shoot. Then, I'd add in some virus-type enemies that spawn randomly. Suddenly, there's an incentive to link up with the babybots, you have more to shoot at, and the game becomes less repetitive and more challenging. That's just a suggestion I thought of off the cuff, I'm sure you can think of something much better than I did.

Overall though, I still had fun with it, and for 48 hours this game is really well polished. Like the commenter below me said, I wouldn't be surprised if it got 1st place for presentation.

Thanks for checking out our game and the feedback is really valuable! We did realize the core gameplay loop was simple, but decided to adhere to a small scope which was realistic based on our skillsets.

We did implement additional systems and mechanics that we had to cut out. One such system allowed the player to chain multiple BBs to each other, creating a network of BBs which were able to charge each other, while extending the reach of the player. However, this system soon became rather chaotic and we didn't have time to balance it.

We also implemented a different kind of corrupted BB - Bad Bot which hunted down friendly BBs to drain their energy. To counter this new threat, we provided an ability for the player to switch from a "charging" to "draining" mode (you can still activate this mode in the game if you find the right key ;D). So you could link up to the Bad Bot and switch to drain mode to kill them. This also drained friendly BBs so you had to manage the links and sever the right connections. In the end, we decided to cut this feature to focus on the main gameplay loop.

The art and the looks of the game is amazing, same to the sound.

I did not quite get what was the goal.just to shoot as many bolts as possible? did not feel like much a challenge.

I d love to see how this game is going to evolve

I love the polish and the artwork, its probably 1st in the jam. I just felt the gameplay was a bit simplistic and short. I was waiting for something more to happen to bring more variety and with the baby bots spawning regularly the game didn't feel too challenging either and I never felt I was going to fail once.

The game ended before the high of the uniqueness of the game wore off leading to the gameplay feeling overall good, but something in me makes me look at the game and say it's just clicking continuously on baby bots with not much challenge. It has a similar feel to an incremental/idle game but without new elements being introduced.

I think the overall gameplay feels great, I just don't know how to feel about the gameplay in general. It's sweet BECAUSE it is short and I don't know how to get my head around it.

Great game good work :)

Developer

Thank you so much for this comment! I love the constructive approach you have to this game, and it means alot that someone noticed the shortcomings to the design! In fact, our team had intended for an additional mechanic that would make a more solid gameplay loop to drive the feeling of "joined together" as well in the core gameplay, other than just the look and theme. however, due to a lack of time, we were unable to incorporate it and we were left with a polished and squishy top down bullet hell shooter.  There was actually a point in the jam where we noticed that this lack of an engaging core game loop was really detrimental to the gameplay experience, so we had to cut the overall game timer from 3 mins to 1.5mins. The reception immediately improved significantly, just by tweaking the framing of the project. Of course this was in consideration of the context of a game jam, in which people just want to play a short and sweet experience to move on. :) We felt that this was really good lesson in User Experience, and makes for a good sharing point! Once again, would like to thank you for such a constructive comment, really appreciative of the compliments, and thanks for trying our game! :D
