Really cool concept! As you wrote yourself it's less a game and more a toy right now but the concept is really cool!
It was super-fun! Great job!
Hey that's the coolest idea i have ever seen, great work man
Haha thank you!
Really enjoyed this game! It'd be neat if there were levels or an end goal with a high score, but definitely one of the most original ones I've tried thus far
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing. I'll be adding levels and objectives in the next couples weeks, keep an eye out if you want to play the update!
I honestly love it - the sounds combined with the moves are amazing. It didn't really feel 'out of control', unfortunately. But I hope you continue working on this a little bit more to add some challenges on top of what you already have.
Thanks for the feedback and checking it out! Glad you loved it!
Having a drum machine control a car (or any player character for that matter) is genius. Very nice :-)
Thank you! I'd love to keep exploring this mechanic. Maybe a drum machine controlling a squirrel? chef? sail boat? There's music EVERYWHERE
Full marks for originality - mixing the gameplay and the music like that is pretty unique, and a lot of fun to watch. The strategy element isn't so strong, though - I spent a few minutes trying to figure out what the best arrangement was, before realising that I was picking up the most pellets by jumping, spinning and moving on every beat (and pulling off some fairly impressive aerial maneuveurs in the process...).
Thanks for checking it out John! I had a friend play test it and they came up with a very similar strategy to what you're describing. I'd love to design some proper levels that require creative thinking. I want the player to feel like a music producer, trying to find the *right* fit of sounds.
Absolutely phenomenal, I love sequencers so much and this concept was absolutely amazing I am so glad you made this.
Thank you! That means a lot. I plan on making many more games/toys like this.
There's a jam going on right now you might be interested in keeping tabs on focused on music games: https://itch.io/jam/ssjmusicfirst
I really love the sound and the concept is awesome, brought back some sort of childhood feeling too so an instant plus, nicely done!
Thank you for checking it out! Glad you enjoyed it.
Really cool idea. The "minigoal" seems to be maximizing getting a good run in the score. Needs some levels/goals but as it stands, nice execution!
Lovely concept, it would be incredible to see this upgraded into a proper complete game. I'm super curious to see how it would perform on a puzzle-like approach, with musical challenges to be performed. Nice presentation, well done!
That's what I was thinking too - puzzles. Each level could be a particular music sequence, and you need to program a drum loop that satisfies the conditions. Something like that anyway.
Thanks for checking it out!
Kerflux is a nice casual game that has you "uncovering" the correct input with audio and visuals - something like that could work well in the puzzling space. On the other hand, it seems a shame to limit creativity by asking people to find a particular solution. But then, I can't think of any ways to keep it creatively open while still having a meaningful goal.
Either way, I loved it!
I had that thought too, with something musical and creative it's important to give the player freedom to find their own solutions. I'll check out Kerflux, thanks!
Interesting idea, but since the maps are unlimited long the score-system makes no sence (no way to compare with others). I just clicked on all the blue dots and had a really funky car (that looked interesting), but no real goal. Still a nice experience. Thank you ;)
Thanks for checking it out!
I'd love to add proper levels, and different sequences. That'll be next.
