Playing a 3D game from a 2D view is an interesting and creative concept, but design-wise it seems to have only negative consequences. Like it's possible to run off the edge, except now there's no way to tell when you're about to go off the edge.
Having to retrieve your boot after you jump seems to be pointless. If the main goal is to jump on the enemy then having to go and get your boot if you miss really doesn't add anything, it's just annoying. Also I'm not sure why there are two camera angles to choose from at the beginning, because it doesn't seem to alter the game in any meaningful way.
I don't know if it was intended but I find it funny that after touching the enemy, the character just runs directly off the nearest cliff.
So yeah the concept definitely has potential.
so you got to understand that you start without the boots, that they teleport to a random place each time you jump, or just fell on the ground, that you can fell from the level, including when running toward the camera which makes me wonder how am i suppose not to fell at some point, once you got that you can start trying to jump on the guy, though i couldn't figure how you control the idreciton of the jump, each time i just go in a direction then the character moves on its own in impredictable ways, i did manage to get really close to it but i died because i touched a little under the head i guess, and then after some restart the level just didn't contained an enemy.
The concept have some potential, though it might not be the way to exploit it, right now the only way i found to make that jump potientially possible, is to make the monster look either to the right or left, then hope for the best. It deserves some thinking though i believe some mechanics could be found.
good ideas. the changing of camera axis is a cool mechanic. the model design isnt that great
Hmmm...I get what you were going for just not sure if the execution was enough to convey it. Especially since the objective is to jump on the enemy's head (which the jump feature was not working for me). It felt more like a side-scrolling platform with 3D models. I get it, I can move into the bg/fg but maybe if it was something like shooting where being able to tell depth and not having would've clicked better for me.
I did enjoy, I'm sure it was not intended but it was still funny, how I Ethan here kept running until he fell out of the map once I got game over. lol
I am not sure how to rate this. You took two things that are just like, annoying or bad design and made them the focus. Those things being bad camera angles, and having a limited ammo for something that you should just be able to do as much as you want. The having to grab your boot again works alright, and the camera angle thing is an interesting concept but not very fun in practice.
Really like the originality of the concept. Idea has a lot of potential. Great game jam game!
Very original. Great idea, an with some shadow effects or two dimensional enemies, it could make for a terrifying experience! what a game game game should be.
Hi there,
Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed our game!
Thank you again!
Most original I've played so far! And most defnietely this adheres perfectly to the theme but aside from that, the game is pretty short. Anyways, still a great entry, I hope It gets featured
P.S: I jumped over the wall onto the zombie when he tried to reach for me lol
Hi there,
Thank you so much and we are happy you like the game!
Thank you again!
We thought about taking out the ability to land on the wall, but figured it should stay. If you really wanna hide from the zombie, you should be allowed to!
Jumping doesn't work...
Hi there,
Thanks for letting us know and we're sorry for the inconvenience! I'll contact you to see if we can help.
Could you please confirm that you've collected the boot power up and then pressed the space bar?
Thank you!
