What was the size of your team?

How did you incorporate the theme?
I used reusable items for the attacks on the RPG mode and some of the story. It was a bit hard to get, but I think it works.

Simple but cool AI, I don’t really think its a roguelike tbh.
Great work tho! :)
It's definitely far way from the traditional and core roguelike hah, but I don't think it just fits the traditional RPG because the leveling system works inside an endless loop.
Thanks for playing it! :D
Enjoyed the game! Slightly jarring transition from racing to battle, but a really fun twist on racing because of that! Great entry - really good!
Thanks! The transition was one of the trickiest parts (alongside with the racers AI).
The transition from race to battle to race is unusual, but battles end fast enough and you get a lot of i-frames after, so it kinda works. I began avoiding all oponents and went to the boss at level 1 (bad idea), then I appreciated the combat a bit more.
The game is at its best when you're in the middle of the pack, thinking both about how you're driving and where your oponents are. Were the AI to be a bit smarter, it would hit the spot!
The AI for the racers was definitely one of the hardest things to do haha, I stoped tweaking it when I saw it was goofy and funny (because time was running out lol).
Thanks for playing it!
Yeah, time was tight! Didn't have time to polish the physics in Roboballer, and saw some friends/players struggle with it as well...
I think doing a short and easy game is best though, at least the jam player doesn't leave dissapointed/upset.

Well, this was great and very creative! 5/5 from me :)
Many thanks!!! :D
great game love how you you mashed so opposite genres together, the story is pretty great and a lot of the (game) mechanics are great too, great job :)
Thanks! :D
Not bad at all! I thought it was neat how you could completely ignore the race at later levels and just bully the AI, would like to see the combat system be little more complex and for there to be additional races though!
Bullying the AI is not that hard since it's pretty dumb haha, but it's a nice way to play it!
I tried to make the combat system balanced between simplicity and variety, because I had a few more ideas to make it richier but I didn't want to make the fights too long.
Thanks for playing it!
I'm pleasantly surprised! I could see this as a full game given the time and dedication to fleshing out the combat system. I don't really see the roguelike aspect but rpg and racer definitely stand out. The music got a lil repetitive but the controls were tight and clean. It'd be cool if there was a feature where if all the cars were destroyed, you win the race by default. Good game!
Thanks!
Yeah, I had in my mind to finish the race when you killed all the enemies (or maybe adding a time limit for the race, I think that could work too).
Regarding the roguelike, my real intention was "a bit of roguelike" because of the death and replay system.
Hey, that one was surprising! I kind of didn't want to fight with other cars as extra challenge. I guess it is how it was meant to be done. Because not colliding with other cars is the only way to win this game without dying ;D
Thanks! I think that's an interesting way to play it, because the final boss is probably imposible to beat on level one haha.
ROAD RUSH!
🤘🤘🤘
Okay, I don't think these two genres were meant to be that being said It was actually pretty fun and everything was solid. I just didn't like having to stop racing whenever I bumped into someone, it kind of threw me off. But hey that's the point of the jam is to take two different genres so great job!
At some point I was a bit disappointed about my ideas around the theme but I'm very proud of merging those two really incompatible genres haha. I think the most important thing was trying to reduce the friction between the two play modes (which of course is not perfect now, but pretty decent).
Thanks for playing it!
Honestly great job, I'm also surprised you developed a jrpg battle mechanic in such a short amount of time. It was cool.
Fun and creative game! But I don't think using country flags for language is a good idea, and being able to know the car's properties would be good.
Thanks for playing it!
I know using flags isn't probably the best way to do, but it was the quickest one (and I added that practically on the last day) . I will think about new variants for adding that kind of option.
Showing the car's properties was something in my mind but at the end I just ran out of time.
I love this!! Such a cool idea mixing racing with rpg battles!! Loved the art! Really fun too!! Awesome work! :D
Thank you so much!! It was quite a stretch to do this game and the art, but I think it had a great pay off :D
oh my god the execution of the genre mash up was beautiful. i think the ai is a bit too easy, but its great i loved it
Thanks! The AI is indeed very dummy and easy haha.
Oh first racing game i played from this Game Jam.
Thanks for playing it, hope you enjoyed it!
I was not expecting that mashup and I loved it!
cool mashup and great execution
Thanks! :D
