Enjoyed the game! Slightly jarring transition from racing to battle, but a really fun twist on racing because of that! Great entry - really good!

Fun concept! would be great to get a score, or more GUI type information so you can see how it's going as it feels hard to know what stage it's at. But - great concept to work from!

I couldn't get the arrow keys to work to move the character:( playing in browser - any suggestions?

Nice artwork! Would be good to draw out the different genres more if possible, as it felt more hack and slash than survivor. But good fun and good art - good entry!

Fun take on a platformer! I managed to get stuck on a corner with the down force, but had a good time jumping around. Really like the simple control scheme and concept!

Fun to play! controls felt at times a little lose but great game for a quick challenge! Great job!

Fun game! controls feel good, and very simple concept so immediately get what to do. would be great if it could scale more - but really nice for a quick fun game!

Here's mine! https://itch.io/jam/scorejam13/rate/1043200

Great thread - I'll rate everyone on here as well!!

The art detail is incredible! And the detailing on menus, the transitions, etc - how did you manage to pull that all together in the time? mind-blowing!!

Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately I didn't have enough time in the jam for putting a detailed tutorial in the game. So I've added a bit more clarity in the description. Right mouse to move, left to fire and W to change color. The goal is to collect coins to increase score. Highest score at the end of the run is the aim! Thanks!

Ahh no worries! Yes - highest score is tracked locally! Gain points by collecting coins and the twist is you lose points for firing lasers, incentivising dodging where possible.

Feel free to post a score here in the comments and maybe that can be the leaderboard in a pinch!! :)

The game tracks highest score achieved, so the leaderboard would be the highest score (see top right on title screen for the highest score on that computer).

I thought that was the ask from the jam - that it has a highest score to compare results, and it is fine to compare offline results. But is there something specific needed?

Thanks for any clarity you can give!

You need to dodge enemies where possible (as you lose points by firing weapons)! One room - a short scripted section - with the goal being to get the highest score over that segment.

Mobile friendly in principle (imagine right mouse button thrust --> mobile screen press), although not built for mobile right now.

I liked it! I think maybe the character doesn't need to rotate - that might make it feel more stable. Also if you're moving you can't start firing - adding that would be a nice addition

Thanks!! Really appreciate the comment and glad you had fun!!

I like games that cut to the chase so wanted it to move fast, but might have gone a little far. I'll think on how to keep the rapid pace but in a more controlled escalation!

Great - thank you!!

Hi! I have got my game going in gamemaker studio 2 (free version). But I would need to get a license to export the game. Can I check (before I get the wrong license!) if I get the HTML5 export license, will that let me put the game on itch.io? I read the upload page:

https://itch.io/docs/creators/html5

...but it doesn't mention gamemaker studio, so as a beginner I'm a bit worried whether if I get the html5 license it won't work properly. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

Thank you!

sorry for the complete beginner question - how do you upload a game to itch.io?
