A really tidy package, and that it actually runs on Gameboy only furthers it's soul.
I just wish the snails gave me a heads up when they were gonna respawn on the Boss stage. I got ambushed by them a few times.
when the voting time ends i'll upload a new version full color and with a few bug fixes, thanks for the feedback on the snails i'll see what can i do with that n.n
this was so incredibly charming and i had a lot of fun! the art and music were both fantastic and worked really well for "gameboy soul". i didn't realize i had to keep hitting the enemies to get the tombstone up and soul released but it was really rewarding figuring that out + getting a hit on another enemy with it. fantastic job!!! i love chara :D
when the voting time ends i'll upload a new version full color and with a lot of the bugs fixed n.n thanks
Loved it! Really charming artwork and the audio was fitting! Another great GB Studio game! Well done!
thanks a lot n_nwhen the voting ends i'll update the game full color a bugs fixed n_n
Great project!! I'm not familiar with the engine, but it looks and feels exactly like a gameboy game! It even freezes when there's too much stuff on the screen :D
A few things to mention:
Like other people said, killing a witch is just egh. Consider making her health 1/3 of what she has now.
One time on the bossfight a snail telefragged me (spawned inside the player character and killed him). Not too big of a deal, but almost ruined my playthrough.
Also not too big of a deal, but... Why snails? :D
it looks like a gameboy game because its a game boy game n.n made with gbstudio, a program to make gameboy games, and yeah the witch will have less hp, im tweeking it and improoving it, when the voting phase ends i'll update it n.n thanks a lot n.n
It's good for a single screen game style, but i found the boss really tiresome, it really felt like it would never end
yeah, inlater revisions i change that, after the voting ends i'll update the game
great intro ! Good pixel art and music !!
but...
How to go to the second stage ? i beated the 3 snail of the first one and then nothing happened... ^^"
you beated them like releaseing the souls from the tombstones?
I only killed them , i just realised that we need to continue to shoot bones at them to build a tombstone .
I'm at stage 2 👌
Ok the witch will still party, she is too strong for me ^^"
the witch has a lot of hp but there's a secret (bug) that the witches shoot dont hit you
Excellent!
How many hits does the boss take?
A LOT, but i already changed that, now it has 30 hp, and is more manageable, but each ghost can hit her from 1 to 6 times, so time them well XD
The gameplay was addictive enough that I went to the end of the game. The boss was a bit hard, I still don’t know if it’s because she has a lot of HP (and there’s no hit animation), or because the hurtbox is tiny and most of my hits missed.
The GB soul is anyway extremely present.
the hitbox is big, but she has 60 hp, each ghost can hit her from 1 to 6 times, but its hard, thanks a lot in future updates i'll tweak those details and more n_n
I really enjoyed this. Really elegant way of doing a single screen arcade-style platformer. Thanks for the game!
thanks a lot man n.n it has a long stretch to go but im glad you all liked it n.n
That was fun! The setting, art, and character designs are exceedingly charming. The tombstone mechanic is really interesting; it might take a couple too many hits, but shooting old enemies up at new enemies is a genius mechanic for an arcade style game. I especially had fun with the boss! Great work!
thanks a lot n.n yeah it has a lot to inproove, but i'll continue developing it n.n
Boss was so tanky haha, but I enjoyed my time with this game, great job! Very authentic Gameboy experience!
thank you very much, i have plans for the future of it, and yes, the boss is so much tanky, i'll change it :P
Lots of fun to play! The Witches stars didn't hurt me, was that correct? Maybe reduce the amount of hits the witch takes to beet, and remove the collisions between the enemies, so they can't kill each other? (Although I used that to good effect to take out multiple...!) Other than that - a lot of fun to play! Very Gameboy! Going to play on GB hardware now too.
the little spirith that comes of the tombstones is made to kill other enemies, and yeah the withches stars was a bug i couldnt fix on time :P thanks a lot n_n
plays really well on hardware! Good job!!
thanks a lot n.n
Not sure hitting the graves so many times is required, and the battle with the witch felt a bit too long. The graphics and the sound are great, and so is the character movement. Well done!
yeah goo much hp on the enemies xD thanks
It looks good, plays well! I couldn’t beat the boss, maybe it’s a bug but maybe I couldn’t figure out why! Gotta love the spooky-silly context too hehe
In any case, great job!! that’d have been a great game to have back the days!
i'll continue making this game to make it better, also to beat the boss you must hit it with the ghost that spawns from the tombstones n.n thanks a lot
yeah I did that (I love how the ghost damages the snails so quickly) but I’m not sure if it hit and after 5 minutes of doing the same thing I abandoned (I have so many entries to review unfortunately T_T)
great job, again!!!
the little with have 60 points of HP, each hit does 1 but the ghost can hit her up to 6 times, after 40 hits the with turns blacker and that tells she's about to die, thanks for your time n.n
ah, I guess if I insisted more I’d have won XD
thank you for the entry :D
Can't get more authentic than a GB ROM, though this has a very modern feel to the platforming, with a simple but engaging loop. Very nicely done.
thanks, i took inspiration on the old arcade gamez like bubble bobble and snow bros n.n
