I found out that if you fully uninstalled and reinstall Tiled it’ll work properly. it might be a combined bug between itch.io app and macOS!

I found additional weirdities when writing the bug report, so I completed it with as many relevant info I had.

https://github.com/mapeditor/tiled/issues/3831

the more I think about it, the more I suspect a combined bug between itch.io app and macOS where an universal macOS binary isn’t properly loaded if a regular binary was at the same exact location before.

I got the same issue. 1.10.1 works properly so you can use Manage/Switch to another version while it gets fixed.

Alternatively, you can use the github repository release https://github.com/mapeditor/tiled/releases/tag/v1.10.2 which seems to work properly

(1 edit)

Last version (1.10.2) crashes right on launch on macOs Monterey 12.6.7, which didn’t happen on 1.10.1. I’m not sure why, but I do see “Universal macOS Binary” in the logs that seems to be extremely suspect!

edit - the version here https://github.com/mapeditor/tiled/releases/tag/v1.10.2 seems to work properly, maybe the wrong binary was uploaded here on itch.io?

it makes sense! and then it gives you an interesting choice :D

that’s going to be hard to fix that. Maybe making maps harder and harder, or maybe have a way to reintroduce chests later (which are part of the reward mechanisms) like durability on some cards, special chests that could discard completely parts of your deck back so you get regular chests again and things like that. Infinite games are hard to keep interesting

Incredibly fun and simple to play! I love it!

3 things:

  • Purple’s recycling will discard a card previously acquired with blue’s draw, instead of actually recycling it. I think it’s intended to be as such, but I’m not exactly sure. Strategies could be valid for both the “discard one extra card” vs “recycle all the card in hand”!
  • a very minor bug - when the map is large (especially vertically), I accidentally placed a tile on the map more than once because the hand is then directly overlapping with free tiles!
  • I started playing that game and it easily went above 1 hour for a single game. Eventually I had to leave and couldn’t keep the tab open so a “resume last game” could be actually interesting here!

Great work in any case!

Pretty cool and weirdly relaxing :D

Thanks!

There is a binary named “glimpse-esp.bin” for ESP in the zip file as specified in the readme.md file, have you found it?

I didn’t provide the source yet because I had compilation errors after the 1st end of the jam, and I hadn’t the time to touch it after that. Also, I have to provide a license and I haven’t choose it yet

Thanks for the amazing story; this game was such a good surprise!

Interesting game!

Definitely not the kind of games I usually play (go not skill :P), but it’s fun nonetheless. I found the whole quite polished and quite fond of the art style, and the audio part is fitting as well.

I had an issue with the controllers (seems like the Xbox One Controller’s XYAB buttons aren’t responsive so you cannot go past the menu screen) on macOS so I had to play with the keyboard. Possibly the gameplay might be a bit better with a stick instead of 1-0 keys?

Very refreshing in any case, good job!
