The intro really does add a lot to the feel of the game! It felt trippy, aided by the pastel colour palette.

Maybe it was a bit too easy to find the ship parts... but it would have been daunting, nigh impossible, to search without any directions...

The aliens were well scary at first, but then I realized I didn't have to kill them but could just outrun them, which was less fun but at least I didn't have to kill them!

I did like the recharging blaster mechanic, and the fact that the shot came out of the blaster slightly off-center. Nice attention to detail.

Music meshed nicely with the game, and the sound effects were spot on.

Great jam game!

Developer

glad you liked it! Running from aliens is totally a valid strategy :)

like everyone commented the art and gameplay is very nice, but the music really makes the creepy and unknown planet vibes strong, very cool

Developer

glad you liked it! I agree, our music artist Zondre, really did a great job on our submission !

Developer

Thanks so much 💜 In the process I did a lot of experimenting with different modes and tonal centers, as well as how I created each instrument to get the desired effect. Glad you liked it!

I love this little man, may he get home safely.

The "storytelling" and cinematic intro really make your game stand out. The game boy vibes are really strong  and I love these kind of "hold the line" finales, took me by surprise. Great work!

Developer

glad you liked it! Wasn't sure the GB vibes were strong enough, but I'm glad you think so!

Great concept for the theme,  this is a nice zany take. I love the cinematic opening. I thought the minimal size text was interesting. The enemies really freak me out when they make that noise, yikes!

I really enjoyed this one,  I would definitely play an extended version of this that went to different planets.

Great ending too, very satisfying.

Developer(+2)

If we did that, I suppose we'd have to call it NOGGINS with an S haha. Would love to create some diverse soundtracks for different planets though. Thanks for playing!

That last stand sequence at the end was pretty epic.

You crafted a very special atmosphere even with all the GB limits, outstanding.

Cool! happy you enjoyed your time with it!

This game is so good, I got really scared at the end, felt like a survival horror. Congratulations!

The only feedback I would have is to use a font more GBish or Pixel artish, it feels a little off compared with the rest.

Developer

Glad you liked it! I intend to update it with a slightly larger more readable font in the future! :)

This game was super spooky!! Well done with the monster behavior :) It was a good idea with the compass since the frame of the game is limiting. It would have been nice to have more freedom with the movement or being able to shoot independent of the current moving direction.

Developer

Cool glad you liked it! not sure how I would have been able to make shooting independent of moving with the control limitations but it is a fair point! :)

Absolutely awesome! This game DRIPS with a really well crafted atmosphere, and the environment art looks great. I think that some of the environment art that can collide with the player should look a little more distinct from the background, and rather than the same small crabs that show up when you find a ship part just a singular larger threat. Great entry!

Developer

Glad you liked it! I would love to add some more interesting large boss type enemies if we do an update :)

beautiful looking game. the world is pretty big, some more iconic areas would be nice to see; since there seems to be a lot of empty space in-between interesting points of the game.

Developer

Thanks for the feed back, I'd love to add more interesting environments as an update :)

Congrats on your submission!  I thought the premise was really cool.  I was reminded of Innerspace and then I was a little disturbed that all of these creatures are on the person's head lol.  I died the first time at the ship because of the countdown.  Second time around I did much better and beat the game.  Fun little game.

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing! Glad it challenged you just enough :)

Neat color scheme! Definitely a unique color palette. Also like the silly setting, when I read that you crashed on a noggin I wasn't sure what that meant but then I saw the cutscene. Great job!

What a cute adventure! The gameplay is solid and the art is pleasant. Great work!

Loved exploring and the music. Super cute main character too, but I found the text really hard to read. Cute game!

Developer

sorry about the text! I knew it would be tough for people to read :/

Why are there space crabs and walking cuttle fish so interested in mah ship! Fun game. I enjoyed the playthrough.

Based on a location being called 'Funkus' and the player's conundrum, do I smell some ToeJam & Earl influence? :D

Submitted(+1)

Almost forgot to mention: I liked the overheating mechanic on the phase quite a bit! Prevented me from spamming without being too punishing.

Developer(+1)

Funny, I actually compared the game to ToeJam and Earl too when Sojourn briefed me on it. He described the game to me as "funky" xD

I was a bit skeptical because the color palette, but it ended up being a nice choice for the art.

Controls are responsive, graphics really adhoc. I don’t know if it was intended, but the atmosphere feels like a horror game. Maybe because the music, which makes me shiver whenever a enemy appears.

My only criticism is the font. Took me a while to get use to it.

I truly enjoyed this game!

Developer

thanks! I know the font wouldn't be for everyone, but decided to go with it anyway :)

Beautiful presentation. Color choice is excellent (if slightly low-contrast). Intro and outro cinematics work very well to convey a sense of place. The environment and enemies are all quirky, with a nice bit of variety. The imprecise navigation mechanism was very cool--fun to tease out, but not too difficult to crack. The HUD is effective at conveying all necessary information. Overall, well done!

Developer(+1)

thanks for kind words! Glad you liked it :)

I just think Camera needs to be improve because f a enemy was in your path , it was a free hit for them , music also was decent

a Solid entry , Keep it Up ;)
