A whole quest system?! I was super impressed! The movement and combat felt clean and intuitive - including a lot of features that made the platforming feel responsive- great job! A few people said the movement was too fast, but I think it was fine. It could feel fast since it the camera was close to your character, so maybe zooming out would help a little bit.
A few notes:
1) I couldn't find the last few things of fruit / 3rd villager (if there was one) so I am not sure if I didn't explore thoroughly enough and missed something or not
2) After defeating all the monsters, I could talk to the mouse and get coins every time I talked with them
3) losing wasn't that big of a deal (I didn't lose my progress, yay!) But when I started grinding for the coins, that's when I really noticed it. I was wishing there was a way to recover your coins.
4) I wanted to be rewarded for not taking damage from an enemy, so maybe if the player is still at full life, enemies drop more money?
5) The combo was amazing! A few times on the dash, I felt like I got punished for it, either dashing off a ledge (is there a way to prevent dashing off the edge without removing it?), and sometimes I would dash through one enemy only to be hurt by another enemy somewhat close to the fight, so I learned to stop using the dash which is unfortunate since it was so cool!
6) The hitbox of the attack felt off - it was good, but visually it felt off.
7) attacking enemies above /below me felt harder since I had to line up my attack and didnt have an up / down attack to aim at them
Overall, super impressed with this game! Scored it with lots of 5's - great work!
Thank you so much for the feedback! Some of the stuff you mentioned I was aware of but didn't have time to fix/tweak (def some things I missed though). The idea of dropping more coins if you have more health isn't something I had considered and is def really interesting. I'll have to play around with that!
Lovely game idea.
The visuals are quite nice, but the movement is too fast, and it makes it a little difficult to jump properly.
But still, good job in making this game!
Loved the artstyle and the game :D well done !
I agree with the rest about the auto dash. binding it to a separate button like shift might make it a bit more manageable (not a fan of dashing through a spider into a rat haha). Otherwise very well done :D I hope to see more !
I love the art style of this and it played smooth. I did find the dash screwing me over a lot but I feel like that's by design for these style games. Great job! Congrats on making your game ^.^
Cool game, I love the graphics and the character is really fun to control. The only problem I have is the auto-dash in the third attack. It kept pushing me off cliffs or into traps.
