Very cute story and a well-made game. The music fits so well! And I got up to 50 points!! And I still want more! I must keep the legs!!

This game is adorable. Love the silly story, very creative and fun. Great art, that's actually amazing you animated an intro scene with dialogue text. Snake running on legs is funny. I was having trouble at first getting over some of the animals, but I realized I had to USE THOSE LEGS for that SPEED! Great job!

That was really cool! I love how it's just two really long legs in the middle of the snake lol

I mean, if I were that snake I might skip the legs and just go straight to wings, but maybe that's the sequel XD

The butterflies ARE hard; they're a bit different since they can move in multiple patterns, and the one you have to jump for is rarer and easy to interpret wrong.

Had multiple 0s and runs below 20 before getting this score, which surprised me when I got it. XD

At first I thought you need to balance the snake so it doesnt fall, I think it would have been more unique that way but it doest affect much. After I discovered that I just press forward and the game got relatively easier. Really neat intro and sprite animations !

I've found that you need to slow down for some enemies and speed up for others, but that's a pretty solid score! I initially was planning on balance being a mechanic but it didn't feel like it fit in. Do you think that adding obstacles that specifically need a short hop would be an improvement?

Its hard to tell but probably yes, as you would need to do just like in the ants but in reverse. It could create an issue maybe if you dont get enough time/distance between the longer hop and the shorter hop(in case they spawn in sequence).

Yeah, lowered the spawn rate a bit right before posting because it was generating too many unwinnable combinations, but I think it might need some more balancing lol. Thanks for the feedback!

To be honest I picked the aspect ratio and made a good chunk of the art before really settling on the gameplay, and I agree that more warning would've been better. 😅 Thanks for playing though!!

Wow this was an awesome game! I really liked the story animation at the beginning it reminded me of some the cut scenes from computer games I played as a young child.

The gameplay is simple yet fun and the visuals respond well to the gameplay. I also thought the music and sound FX enhanced the fun vibe of the game. Excellent work!

It was a bit tough at first, but once I got a hang of the controls, it became pretty addictive! Also I love the sprites and art work so much, great job!!

Love the pixel art aesthetic. Simple but fun! I was confused at first because I thought it was a game about balancing, but after awhile i learned it's about controlling your speed.

Thank you! We WERE originally going to make it specifically about balancing, but we changed gears to focus more on the speed control and dodging. The balance worked its way into the speed control and the way it affects your hitbox though

The art style and animated cutscenes are great! The idea is novel though found the game fairly difficult when encountering the ant line.

Thank you! The ant line is definitely a bit tricky. The trick for them is to speed up the moment you see the first ant, and jump at the last moment. They give a good amount of points
