Great job!  I was trying hard to stay alive but once I found out I could possess other living things after death, I leaned hard into that!  Nice interpretation of theme, fun, cheeky story, and nice crafting of "puzzles" that required something more than just mindlessly throwing oneself at the enemies in order to win.

Thank you very much, glad you liked it! :)

Great fun! Lovely warped lighting FX in the ghost dimension.

Thank you very much! :)

Enjoyed this a lot! The possessing idea is too fun and well used within the puzzle context. However it makes the game impossible to lose and makes the combat a bit more unexciting. Don't really know what would solve this, but maybe something like collecting souls from the dead foes can fill up a meter that later you can use. Other than that, great game!

Developer

Thank you for your fedbacks! Yes, the only way so far to lose the game is to run out of time (maybe 5 minutes was a bit too much time). We'll try to explore different strategies to make the combat part more engaging. :)

Great game.I loved the art.

Developer

Thank you very much! :) Unfortunatelly we can't take credit for that part, we used Kenney assets. Plenty of free assets if you like that style. https://kenney.nl/

Excellent game! The death mechanic was a fun twist. Took me a couple tries to figure it out, but it was satisfying to save the doggo Grog!

Developer

Well done! :) Thanks for playing our game!

I really liked the game, first I was like this fighting is not well done, since I tried really hard not to die and once I died I realised that it's a part of this game (I'm a perfectionist, so dying is always hard to manage :D)

I loved the puzzle features with going ghost through the bars or the frogs! It was really good! Great work :)

Hehehe yep, some rooms were counter-intuitive as part of the puzzle. :)

Glad to hear you liked it and thank you for your review!

I had a lot of fun with this game. Actually, the death screen shader was really sweet, too!

Really cool idea. Makes me feel like Captain Ginyu from Dragon Ball Z.

Developer

Hehehe it would have been fun seen John doing the pose. :D Thanks for playing!

Cool idea, I like the mechanics that you can also slip into animals. The theme would also have fit well into the Jam from last year. Good work, I had fun with it:D

Thank you very much! I'm glat you liked it. :)

Really nice touch turning the possession mechanic into a puzzle element. Well done to your team!

that was amazing. i did not expect that kind of death mechanic. and when i can posses a worm to crawl trough the grates, just wow. i could see this become full game. realy well done!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed playing it. :)

Really great look. I'm not sure how much the attack works -- maybe a little more animation would help. The switching to the other realm is a neat surprise. Your game does really well to interact with the player, by giving instructions when needed and guiding them through the level. I think the game only becomes confusing once you give the direction that you can inhabit other things besides humans. From there, I wasn't sure what to do. With work this could be really cool. Nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback, really appreciated! Maybe a visual hint when you approach the mouse (like "Q to possess") can help players realize more easily they can possess animals too.

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, something like that might work. Send a message when you've done more work and i'll check it out. Good luck! Oh, and your tutorial and directives are really great for the most part. It's so tricky trying to balance gameplay and guidance to the player.

Developer

Thank you, will do!! :)

Really cool mechanics and fun gam

Developer

Thank you! :)

That was actually pretty cool, I did not expect a death mechanic like that, and even afterwards, it being ingrained into a puzzle was neat. Cool game!

Glad to hear you liked it. :) Thanks for playing our game!

Enjoyed the concept. An attacking effect/animation would have been nice, wasn't sure if it was working.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback and for playing our game! :) Yes I agree, there was a lack on feedback on that part, unfofrunatelly we could not polish that part as much as we wanted to. Maybe with a bit more time!

Pretty cool concept for the game, overall is already pretty good and fun. If there is something lacking from the game, it is the animation. If there is a simple animation can make it even better!

Thank you for your feedbacks! :)

I loved this, it reminded me a bit of one of my childhood favourite games called Odyssey (on Amiga) where you have to solve the puzzles by transforming into other creatures.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! :) I don't know Odyssey but I'll check it out!

The text wall at the beginning was a bit off-putting. You should break it up into chunks spread out during gameplay.

The gameplay was functional and I'm impressed at the number of mechanics you put in! You used the assets very well and the unexpected solutions were nice to discover. There were some minor visual issues with the environment tilemap but the levels were generally well-designed. Combat became repetitive after a while. I couldn't finish as enemies kept spawning on the last level.

It's a great first game and I enjoyed playing it. Well done!

Developer

Thank you for your feedbacks!

The endless spawn in the level is meant to allow users to not get stuck, so you always have a body to possess to interact with physical objects (doors, buttons, etc...). Once you open Grog cage, spawn should stop allowing you to get rid of remaining enemies. Let us know if this is not the case and we'll try to debug further the game!

Nice first jam project, love the concept and congrats on making a submission for a jam
