Those suckers run fast!! Really good implementation, I thought it was cool to combine tower defense and resource collection. And the art was fantastic!!

Developer(+1)

Haha yes! I am so sad I didn't have time to animate them! I am imagining everything flopping around like crazy when they are running. :D

I'm very glad you liked the game idea! I am definitely bringing the idea with me for a future jam so we can expand on the general idea itself!

Thank you for the lovely comment on the art! I am usually doing some basic pixel art-stuff, but felt like trying something new for this one! Figuring out how to do a tileset was a fun experience!

Thank you for trying out the game! I am glad you had fun with it!

Didn't expect a tower defense game. Good concept. I liked the time slow feature during tower building.

Developer

Thank you for trying out the game! I am glad you liked the game idea and the slow down. We are definitely talking about what more we can do with the slow down function!

This is a nice tower defense game, I like the idea of the portal to transport to gather more stones but it would be much greater if the enemies where being on pause until you come back, I died because I wanted to gather as many stones as I can and the music is a bit loud other than that the game idea is solid and I really like it :)

Developer

Thank you for playing the game! The enemies moving during the gathering phase was intentional to give the player incitement to jump back and forth between the dimensions. We have now been talking about having a little "cam" show up during the gathering phase to easily see where the enemies are and when you have to come back, I hope that would make it easier to determine when it was time to stop gathering and return to buying towers!

I am sorry about the music! We were setting it up so it would be possible to change the volume, but sadly didn't get that far! But will bring it with us for the next jam that we should definitely focus on it! Thank you!

alright D that will be much better  :)

Pretty fun! I like tower defense games though I'm not very strategic with them most of the time. It took me until the second run to realize that I could manually gather stones myself, I thought all I could do was assign workers the first time. That said, even mashing space to get a ton of stones wasn't enough to offset the increase in purchase cost.

Did you know that while the player is holding a turret to place, it actually fires at enemies? This gives you a fully mobile weapon you can bring to any area of the map, the only 'price' for it is that the game is much slower during placement mode. However, even with that I was quickly overwhelmed when the tower prices soared up past 300 and the enemies poured in faster and more resilient each time.

Thanks for trying out the game, and for giving it a second try! Yes, the information regarding what each gathering-thing was doing should've been made more obvious. And also better feedback for the player when something was clicked. Sadly the balancing got a little bit unfair after a while, the idea was to have stronger towers but time escaped us!

Hahaha yes, that bug was uh... Funny... We found it super late and just didn't have time to fix it, we decided to leave it in as a fun gimmick, but if we are fixing things up afterwards it is definitely something we are removing.

Thank you again! I hope you had fun!

I like tower defense games already, but the twist with dimensions is really cool! I understand the time constraint, so I won't bother you a lot with feedback. I'm just curious to see what a post-jam version would be like!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing the game and for the nice comment!

Yes, I have to say I am a bit tempted to finish of some things that we were planning for this game. Will see if we end up doing it, but adding the other tower and making the coins actually drop + add the costs for gathering things would be nice to at least get in

Submitted(+1)

Its a shame you guys didnt have time to finish it, but nobody understand better than me. Great one, tho, i love that idea

Developer

Thank you for the nice comment and for trying our game! I'm glad you like the idea! We definitely had fun with it!

A good start to a tower defense game. I like that you have to farm your resources elsewhere, which is taking a risk because you don;t know what is happening in the tower dimension. The music is on point and suits the action very well although the shooting sound gets repetitive after a while. Further improvements are obvious: More types of towers / enemies / a wave system / etc but the basis is there.

Congrats on your submission to the jam !

Developer

Thank you for trying out the game and for the detailed comment! I'm really glad you liked the idea and the choice of music! I agree with the shooting sounds, it would've been nice to maybe have a few different but similar sounds for it. Had a little bit of an issue now with the sounds being so long, and with the high fire rate, the volume became higher because of the amount of bullets. Haha.

Thanks again for trying it out!

This was fun I got a score of 193 I think! I wasnt really sure what Build was for but i spammed gather and built alot of towers lol.

Developer(+1)

Nice score!

The build give a constant +1 to stone, worker gives +2 for a little while, and spamming makes you super rich 🤑

Thanks for trying out the game! I'm glad you had fun with it! We had fun making it!

Great tower defense game. Switching between the two areas is great twist. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you had fun with it and liked the idea of having the two areas separate but active at the same time!

I had a fun time with this. Managing the two screens is a cool idea

Developer

Thank you for the nice comment! I'm glad you had fun with it! :D

How do I build a castle? And what's the difference between worker and build? Anyway, I think the idea of having a resource management screen can be expanded on. It's an interesting concept.

Developer

Sadly we didn't manage to balance the castle in time for the end of the jam, so we ended up disabling it to keep a nice game loop!

The build gives a permanent +1 stone and the worker a temporary+2. The idea was for them to cost gold which the enemies were supposed to drop. We will probably go back and add these two things after end of rating period.

I'm glad you enjoyed the idea, I hope you managed to have some fun with the game! Thanks for trying it out!

Love the idea of having a second screen where you collect resources.

Hello! :)

Thank you for trying the game! I'm glad you had fun with it!

Score: 147 - Little issue: if the enemys are Faster than the projectiles they can outrun the towers - would suggested a lower firerate but faster projectiles to balance this a little better.

the Game is solid - the mechanik with the portal was interssting but I missed one stone because it was below the UI window - maybe you set it to the bottom or to the corner?

it would be cool to palce towers repeatedly if you have enought stone - but thats a  "would be nice"

Well done! I had my fun :D

Developer

Nice score!

Thank you for playing our game, I'm glad you had fun with it! The stone issue is weird, that's not supposed to happen! I'm sorry, I hope it didn't ruin the experience!

Love the idea of the tower change. We initially had another tower which had a similar mechanic, but time got away from us and we didn't have time to balance it out so we decided to remove it. (The button is still in there as a little teaser!) Will hopefully be able to update it after the jam with that tower and coins so it's not free to add workers and buildings to the stones.

Good point about additional placing, it's something I normally miss in similar games!

Thank you again for playing and for the detailed comment!
