Such a feel good game!
I completely missed that I could brighten people's lives the first time around so I had to go back and try again. I know I missed at least two, there was no way to go back to them. :(
I thought this felt good. In the beginning I just didn't know that I could double jump so I was stuck on the first level for a bit. But the level design was cool. When I found out I could drop to go to the top I was like :O. The middle bit with all the doors did get a little confusing and at times the just moving left did get a little frustrating but there wasn't much consequence beyond just have to retrack some of the level. Very cool idea fun game :)
Thanks for your feedback. I definitely wanted a maze/matrix feel to the level with the doors. It definitely could have been executed better. Have to think on that. Thanks for playing! :D
Great platformer! Mechanics is really good. Movement are also very smooth. Combination of the music and the colors you chose is awesome! It really makes it chill, matching very well the title you chose. Well done!
Quite a fun experiencing (and sometimes frustrating with no left), had to run aaagaaain the same place when I tried to go too quickly. Should have chilled more :D
Nice idea though and I liked it.
This one reminds me of Matthew McConaughey, all right all right all right! Cool concept, not being able to go left adds a degree of difficulty that works well. Love the chill vibe, well done!
Really smooth controllers, an amazing experience! Loved the overall game feel! It's easy to start, but hard to master :) Good job!
The idea is interesting, being able to move into one direction. Personally, in the end I got very frustrated because I would accidentally step too far and had to go through everything again. Doesn;t mean its bad, means its probably just not for me. Still, a well built game, well done!
It's okay, no problem. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Oh my gosh what a lovely little game. I totally forgot you could "brighten" the other aliens by pressing down, and in the very beginning I also forgot what the doors look like - you could possibly make a trigger around all the interactables that just shows a button prompt when you hit them :) But other than that it was very cleverly presented, the levels all made tons of sense, and there was just a lot of content for a jam overall! Great job. Also great use of the theme.
Oh, that's a great suggestion! Thanks for commenting.
Quite an interesting mechanic to allow only one way movement with teleportation. Simple but effective. It was really fun to play it. sound effects and music was also good. Also there was a cat.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, there was a cat. :)
Really love this, one of the most unique concepts I've seen in the jam so far and impressive level design!
Wow! This is amazing you got so much out of the simple graphics. I think a lot of that comes from how smooth the controller has over the player character. It felt so good. It was very cohesive. Honestly, just a fun gaming experience. Nice sound, very soothing music. Your level design was very good as well. I loved you game!
Awesome game. Even though you don't die, sometimes you wish you would hahaha. Great job well done
Hope I didn't overdo the level with the doors. Thanks for the stream! :)
It took me a while to realize there was a double jump. Nice interpretation of the theme and very nice chill and interesting puzzles.
Congrats
Surprisingly cool game for the first time. I really liked your concept. Congratulations!
Absolutely loved this! Great vibe, and only being able to move in two directions is surprisingly difficult to wrap your head around, which gives it a nice amount of challenge without being stressful. Really great puzzle design, and *SPOILER* you can pet the cat too! Bonus points for that.
Great work.
great game concept and nice art visuals, good work. would try out my game and rate it according.
Wow, nice concept, and the music and aesthetics go very well, nice!
Enjoyed this game. Got to pet the cat quite a few times! I did enjoy the music and sound as well as the Kenney graphics. Well done!
Thank you for commenting!
Love it. Great use of the Kenney assets and the music helped create a vibe. Something with screen wrapping was actually in my initial brainstorm for this theme, and I couldn't come up with anything I really felt great about. Now I'm sad I didn't realize that I didn't stick with that (although probably also happy because whatever I made probably would have looked like garbage next to this).
I like the chill vibe you're going for, and I think it works to an extent, but something feels a little creepy to me too? Like, the rusty chains, the emptiness of everything, and even just the cat room gave me an eerie vibe. No effect on ratings (I honestly liked the sorta creepiness that I got from it); just wanted to share. Might just be the messed up way my brain works.
Overall, really nice. Just generally mechanically, aesthetically, and thematically satisfying. Not much more I could ask for!
Thanks for commenting. I definitely wanted to make the player feel something is "off" with the level with the doors. But I've never intended to make it feel creepy. Maybe some other tiles as a foreground element? Wow definitely something to think about. Thanks for bringing the tiny details the player might notice to my attention. Btw, I don't think I can ever come up with a text adventure as funny as yours!!
Maybe something feeling "off" might be a better description than creepy actually. I still think the chill vibe came through either way. And again, it might also just be my weird way of thinking, so feel free to take the feedback with a grain of salt!
Oh, and I really appreciate it about my game. I've been writing for much longer than I've been making games, so I like to think at least, that it's where I excel.
Great take on the theme, once i got to the part where i got the point, i was blown away
