This game is soooo good, the gameplay is great, the visuals are fantastic and the smooth scene transitions are really awesome.

btw if you can play the game that I made and give me some feedback I really appreciate it :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

P.S. I've already played and rated your game ;) Liked it :)

Awesome game! Really like your approach to the theme and the execution is flawless! I have only one question: there is no fish, right? :D

Developer

:O This means a lot coming from the dev of one of my favorite game for this jam! Thank you so much!!!

As for the fish, can you imagine if the game was actually a three layers game :P Maybe if I didn't run out of time the fish would have been a lie ;)

Great submission. Loved the sieving for gold mechanic.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I hope you liked the hidden mechanics too ;)

Hahaha, kept running out of time but had the pot on hook and the fire going. Got it eventually. :p

Submitted(+1)

It is a fun game!!  I loved specially the start music!  Good work!

Developer

Thank you, and thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

This game is great fun! I didn’t find the secret ending but I will. Eventually.

Developer(+1)

I'm sure you will!

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

I actually just did! Hahahaha!

This is a neat little game! Great catch on the theme as well! The control is really smooth and overall I had a great time playing it!

I don't think there's any feedback I can give for this other than that one time I got a javascript error from the browser during the end scene.

Great job!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I appreciate de comment :)

I LOVED this! It's so rewarding when you "get" it, and the controls are simple but flawless. So far my favourite game in this jam. Really well done!

Developer

This means a lot! Thanks for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

This is a fun game. I really enjoyed it. The boo sound 😂

Developer

I hope you found the "good" ending too! If not, get back to it!

Submitted(+1)

Very clever game, I love the "secret" ending! The art is cute and the shaking mechanic is top notch. Well done.

Developer

Thank you very! I'm glad you cached the "secret" part fast!

Submitted(+1)

Great concept and take on the theme! Had a hard time putting it down! Took me a little too long to catch the hints of course but was also having fun getting rich while starving to death!

Developer

Get all the money!!!!! But don't forget the soup :P

Submitted(+1)

Very neat little game, After I found out about the extra things you can do it makes a lot of sense and im surprised i didnt catch the hints. Nice work and congrats on your game. Thanks for watching the livestream I did of it as well.

Developer(+1)

I enjoyed watching you figure out the game! Made me realize that I should have put more hints here and there, no sure how many people missed the goal on their first playthrough.

Thanks for playing!

Submitted

Yeah I notice stuff like that a lot when I actually watch people playing one of my games that things you expect people to find easily they dont. Great game.

Submitted(+1)

I LOVE the idea.

What seems to be a game to find gold nuggets, ends to be a classical graphic adventure with a timer.

Well done. Very clever. Very well done.

Developer

I wasn't sure if I would trick people properly, but it seems I did a pretty good job! A lot of the design went into making sure the player knew what the game was about, when it was actually something else. Didn't want people to know right away, but didn't want them to miss it either, seems like I really hit home :)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback :D

Submitted(+1)

Great, nailed the brief.
Was great fun and good sense of humour!

Really good job!

Developer(+1)

You're the first one to mention the humor :D

Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Love it. I like how the game wasn't what it seems at first. Even just the gold panning part is a fun mini game.

Nicely done.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Nothing is what it seems. Like this comment, it's actually something completely different...

Thanks for playing!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

So i played it once through, thinking, oh kool, nice to see some Gold panning :D.
Then i finish it, get the booing and think,.. hmm not sure about this.
Come read the comments and gather that i've pretty much missed the entire actual games :D.

Not sure how, but I could have done with a slightly greater hint that there's more :P. maybe something in the background that moved.
(might have helped if i'd watched the trailer :P, or got the key on my first go through :D).

But great work one a fun little puzzler game. I finally got to rest and eat soup :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I'm glad the comments pointed you in the right direction! I'll definitely try to make it more obvious if I do a similar project in the future. Maybe making the color of the key item slightly off or something like that could have helped? And I agree the key should appear more often, I might just boost the luck to 100% just so it's obvious...

Thanks for playing and for the constructive feedback :)

Submitted(+1)

Aw damn, just searching for some Gold Nugget... oh wait... there is a key... wait, there is a door with a lock... there... is a fireplace... THERE IS MORE

took a while but you got me into this! Would be awesome to see the time at the (real) end so we can challange us :)

Good game, everything fits well, the visuals, audio, it fits to the theme, well done :)

Developer

I've toyed around with the idea of having the time show up at the end, but I was à little to lazy to actually implement a singleton properly :P

Thanks for playing and the great comment!!!

Submitted(+1)

33 secs left! Amateur hour! Messed up on the level with the carrots, lol. Great concept and mood. And er nice slurp sounds!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! You're the first one to have a respectable time! You should start speedrunning it :P

Submitted(+1)

At first I was ohhh you know how to win me, with a gold panning simulator. I pan. I pan. I pan. But I can't win the game. Why?
Then I found something...
Really fun game. I loved how it turned to be something else than just getting gold. :)

Developer

Thanks man! I was a little scared that people wouldn't understand the goal. I did keep the timer short, so people don't waste too much time at first with the panning, but I've also got some feedback that it's not enough time for what you need to do once you figure the real game. It's kind of a hard thing to balance properly.

Submitted(+1)

I found there was enough time to do the main quest. Its basically a die and retry. Every game you learn something you need to get to advance the main quest, then when you know everything you need, you can speedrun getting everything and complete the game :)
So for me, I think its very well balanced.

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the game! good twist on the theme for sure :) Got me finding all those nuggets for nothing :O It took me a good 4 or 5 shakes to get the key. I wonder if someone could miss the slurp ending because of that. That ticking clock got me nervous to finish the game as fast as possible!! Great pixel art I like it!! Thanks for sharing

Submitted(+1)

I also forgot that the sieve mechanic could be improve as it was not always easy to get  a good shake to remove the dirt from the sieve

Developer

I'll definitely rework it at some point. I wasn't sure how to actually detect a shake, so I tried some stuff... Might have put the threshold too high.

Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Awesome!

I just made a soup and still get some gold just in case!

Developer(+1)

Soups for all the winners!
