cute game, just wish the strategy for picking up which flowers was more interesting, the music getting more and more distorted was funny but also kinda annoying

Developer

Uh oh, the music definitely isn’t supposed to get distorted… I must have a bug in there, sorry!

This game has an interesting spin on the theme which I liked. However I felt the game was quite simple as I didn’t have to explore very far to complete the game and I didn’t come across any challenges. In one of your screenshots there’s some sort of laser / flamethrower which I never came across so maybe somehow forcing the player to go to those areas by having certain coloured flowers in certain areas would make it more interesting. Also maybe having to have different amounts of flowers in different levels would add an extra challenge rather than just having to get one of each. I liked the game and I did enjoy playing it. I also like you built-in timer which gives me a good reason to play again and try and improve my time. Overall good job

Developer(+1)

All good points, thanks! The hope was that after completing it once, the player will try again to get a higher score: 500 is possible, and to get that, you have to visit all 6 adjoining maps (which each feature some kind of challenge, tho none of them is difficult at all).

Submitted

Ah I see! I didn’t realise there were adjoining maps so maybe making them look completely different and dropping hints by the NPC as to different areas, it may force the player to explore a bit more! I’ll have to play this again and try to visit the different maps!

Cool.

It took me a while to figure out how to balance the bouquet.

I came across a bug with the sound. The sound would sometimes slow down.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

What browser and OS were you using? This is the first I’ve heard of any sound problems. (sorry about that!)

Submitted

I was using Firefox browser. Firefox sometimes get some errors with WebGL, maybe it is on my side.

Developer

Yeah, who knows. I just tried in Firefox for Linux for the first time (oops, should have been testing this all along!), and it worked ok, but CPU consumption was way higher than in Chrome. Not sure if that means much.

Submitted

Maybe this will be helpfull.

Once I was making some game and was testing it on an old notebook. There chrome was overloaded CPU but Firefox not. After some investigation I found that the notebook had two GPU. One inbuild low pewerfull and other additional more powerfull. So OS or driver for some reason decide to use low powered GPU with Chrome (and use CPU to help the low GPU). And at the same time to use high powered GPU with Firefox.

This game is very pleasant to control! The wall jump is especially cool to do.

The concept of balancing bouquets is quite fun but a bit too easy: I would love that each client will have their own preferences, like "no red flowers" and it'd be up to us to balance the bouquet according to their needs.

The "bad" scenes with an unbalanced bouquet are way funnier than the "success" ones: it makes me want to loose the mission instead of pleasing the client x')

Developer

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback!

Customers with specific requests: That’s a great idea! I’d still have a firm requirement that there be exactly enough flowers in the world to satisfy everybody, but that becomes actually an interesting programming problem. I might go ahead and do this, after the jam.

I noticed that too, that the Imbalanced endings are funnier than the Balanced ones, it creates a perverse incentive to lose. But then I had so much fun making them that I couldn’t bear to replace them with something plainer. :)

Oh man this game is hilarious 😄 I’m loving the “unbalanced bouquet” concept going on here. Very fun to play.

Kudos on using your own engine, something a lot more poeple should do! Starred on GitHub.

Great work, keep it up!

Amazing that you used your own game engine to do this! I didn't quite get how was I supposed to know the correct colours for the bouquet. Great job!

The pick up sound reminded me of something, but I don't what, like a connections sound? Very funny :D It's a nice little game and everything is working well. I also get how the theme was interpreted here, making it important to "balance" the colors you pick. Nice catch! Personally I don't like the art style, but this does not influence the overall fun of the game at all :)
