Really neat idea and you executed it well! The thief definitely felt a bit weaker than the other two but the game is quite fun. I would have loved to see it lean heavier into the fighting game aspect. Adding something like multiple types of attacks and stringing together combos could be a great way of merging the the two kinds of games. Between each attack you could present the player with a number of words to choose from and depending on which word the player starts with, it could be a high attack, low attack, etc or something like that. That probably would have been a bit difficult to pull off in a short time frame and the fact that I would even be thinking about ways to make it even better suggests you really came up with a pretty special idea. Other than that, fully resetting your energy on one mistake did seem a bit harsh but trying to enforce accuracy over speed is a reasonable take. Nicely done!

- Typefighter has a great concept with both singleplayer and multiplayer option. You can compete with your friends who is typing faster and more accurate while each correct typing, you attack your enemy until it dies. Having feedback, some juice when damage is given or taken would feel much better!

Thank you for so much feedback I genuinely appreciate it! The combo is a great idea. I thought about having something like a quick time event when characters attack to pull off a combo doing each motion with each word, or maybe I just display a letter, and even started making an animation for sorcery where electric energy balls would rain from the sky. But I didn't have enough time to really play around with it unfortunately haha
Hi!
Won at a ridiculous level :). What is the difference between difficulty levels? I think it would be nice to add some balance to the game, I have a dial speed of 300+ but I almost always lose :), mostly because every mistake resets all power, maybe it would be easier if it didn't reset all power, just the current one point, or sort long words by levels, for example, the easiest level has the shortest words, the longest has the longest, something like that...
Overall a good game! I had fun! Congratulations!
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you had fun! The difference is the characters per minute that the CPU can type at. I fully agree and plan to modify the difficulty settings so that the game isn't as punishing on lower difficulties. I didn't think of word length though, that would also be a great idea! Especially for the easiest level, it would be more fun to only use 3-4 letter words.
Really cool art style! Losing all your energy when you mistype once feels a bit too punishing.
The art style is awesome, and the game was fun to play! I like how the words are like related to power, though it did distract a bit from the rest of the game theming. I’m an adequate typist, though my error level definitely hindered me so I had trouble even on Moderate haha. Overall though great job!
The most original idea and art style, very refreshing. It would be great to see more elaborate animations on the characters!
Lovely graphic style and the music fit too. The different classes was a very unusual but excellent addition. And diffuiculty levels too. A polished gem
This is one of the most creative and best looking games I've playing in this jam. Well done! It's made me realize I need to practice typing
This game looks great! I found it a little hard but I would say I am not a strong typer and I noticed I was making some mistakes, iIwas playing on normal difficulty. The addition of different classes was really cool and I also liked the music!
Oh so game is so cool ! I find that the warrior is way too strong (I beat the ‘good luck lol’ difficulty too easily with it), and the thief is quite weak for my taste haha, well played
Conceptually simple but fun game, tough in the higher difficulty. The art style it's amazing, you hand drawn all?
Great job!
Thank you! The the art was all drawn for the game on procreate, but not by me. My girlfriend is a insanely talented artist & tattoo artist. This was her first time trying to make game art so I’m glad people like it. There’s credits on the Itch game page and in the readme of the GitHub project if you’d like to check out some of her non video game art 😁
Love the hand drawn art, good work!
It is a tough game. I can type fast and I struggle to win a match on the easiest difficulty level with the thief. Oof.
It's an interesting concept. I'd suggest shorter words for the lower difficulty levels and adding some animations so that the combat feels more frantic, more exciting.
Thank you for your submission!
I appreciated the handmade art style - gave it a charm.
The difficulty of it though is really underselling it, I’m an average typer at 80 WPM and I had no chances even on the easiest mode :P I guess “Laughable” was at me, not at the game hehe
That’s fair! Thanks for the feedback. Due to the mechanic where your energy is reset upon an incorrect input, It’s more about accuracy than typing fast though depending on who you play as. I’d recommend trying the thief. He’s very easy as he’s more rewarding for fast typers and not as punishing when it comes to accuracy. This is because he doesn’t need much energy to attack. Regardless though the easiest mode should definitely be easier 😂
A solid typing game! I enjoyed the art style and music. I also liked the choice of powers, and thought it made the combat quite interesting! Good job!
