How does the game fit into the theme?
You're supposed to skip the first spring in the 3rd area and go straight to the second one!!!!!!!!!!! anyways-

the games about always moving and you can't stand still for a moment to sniff the flowers as you are being constantly chased across all the levels, no matter what you have to keep moving!

What premade assets did you use if any?
the music and tilesets, and player sprite was premade ( made them myself) while everything else surrounding it was made specifically for this jam! this is a side project from a much bigger project so some assets from it are reused, but the game itself at its core is new and falls in line with it being made within game jam time

What are the Discord usernames of everyone on your team?
M3tabble and Beetledope

Did you use MiniScript for your entry?

No

Did you use Playroom for your entry?

No

The game has a really nice visual aesthetic and artsyle paired with nice worldbuilding and colorful creatures.
Though it felt a bit unfair at times with the movement not being too smooth so it was hard to get used to and the enemies moving quickly and consistently.
Good job!

This game's art and animations are very stylized and fun to look at! Gameplay wise, the camera movement can be very abrupt sometimes when you turn.

I think the spike enemies are a bit artificially baked into the levels, maybe running from a moshpit of them would be a bit cooler! Gameplay overall is engaging, great job!

Really fun idea, and I love the art style! On my first playthrough, the game bugged out with an error saying "obj_player_spike_hurt has not been set before reading it" but after restarting, I was able to play much more, and it was a great time!

The spikey ball is so annoying lol! Fun game, not a fan of Z being interact but apart from that decent game

Plays pretty nice! I’d make the spike ball wait until the player starts moving, otherwise you just get killed right away if you weren’t ready. And also, Z to enter doors, doesn’t really need a button.

thanks!

The speed feels great! It was scary almost always hearing the dying sound after entering the door xD

PS. In a later level there's no collision on the right wall after the door so I just started falling infinitely and never died / couldn't retry, had to refresh the page.

Developer

i know exactly what you're talking about lol i completely forgot!

The particle effect at MAX SPEEDUUUU is really satisfying. xD

I really like the art, and hitting the speed limit and seeing the particle effects is so satisfying. Nice job! :)

Cool art style, but sometimes important objects blend into the background.

Developer

Hitting the max movement speed feels so nice, and music is on point with the artstyle&gameplay. Nice combination.

Z wasn't the best choice but never mind! I had fun with it! Reminds me of pizza tower :D

Developer

This game was designed with the arrow keys as the movement option sorry Wasd warriors 💧, also first pizza tower mention! Surprising! Thanks!

that wasn't really a critic ;) it hasn't affected my rating ... but I would be easier for me because I'm left handed. Was it really inspired by pizza tower in some aspects?

Really good game, i just wish you didn't have to press Z to exit, also level 3 i think was too hard.

Developer

Thanks! Though I did tell you how to beat it in the description since I can't fix it rn, but thanks for the feedback!

Hello!

Congrats on this work! The game's atmosphere is really dynamic and intense—I really enjoyed that!

From a design perspective, I think the flow mechanic with the shift key is really cool, and the FX make it feel super satisfying! The die-and-retry aspect is also smooth and well-executed, I must have died at least 100 times without even noticing! 😆

As a suggestion for improvement, I would make the early levels a bit easier to help players get used to the mechanics.

Developer

Thanks!
