Fun to play, although i had a bit of option paralysis looking at the upgrades screen! But I loved the concept of elements carrying over from previous runs - nice idea for progression. Also the UI and transitions were super polished! Music was also awesome :)

A bit verbose but very interesting to play, Great work!

This is very well made, the upgrade mutate system is very well implemented, and the gameplay is addictive! very cool ideas!

It's writting a bit too small for me on the UI but the concept is awesome, lot of upgrade even though, fire_rate and maxshield just overpower compared to the other. I end up with 30 shield and huge fire_rate.  i found the game very easy probably due to fps since i don't thinks i was at 60 but around 40 maybe so i didn't feel the game speeding up or anything appart maybe a bit mor bullet with the boss fight.

So many cool and original ideas put in a game in 10 days. I'm amazed at this

Developer

Thanks!

Huge concept really well executed for only 10 days. Definitely a game that could be expanded after the Jam period.

I think my only main critique would be the UI, as I think it almost makes the concept more confusing. Possibly needs some simplification.

But overall, a very well made game.

Developer

Thanks! There's a lot of info being presented in the UI. I think it mainly came from putting things on the screen while developing and then "cleaning it up" to look nice after. The idea of designing a ui with the player experience in mind that doesn't overwhelm didn't really cross my mind during it but makes obvious sense now.

Wow this is one of the deepest games I’ve played for a Jam of this length. Obviously a tonne of effort went into this one - fantastic work!

The upgrade/mutations system took a while to figure out but it opens up a very cool kinda roguelikey sort of play.

I might not have been engaging with the systems well enough but from a design perspective the game does lean away from skill with the tougher stages/bosses and more onto having the right upgrades.

Developer

Thanks! That's a good point on the design that I hadn't really thought of before, but I can it more now that you mention it. I wanted the levels to get harder as you went through to really emphasize the upgrades, but I ended up just turning towards more/faster bullets and that make being able to dodge just impossible. There's a sweet spot in the middle there that I need to think about more and experiment with to find.

It's a very fun game

Developer

I got to stage 4 boss and died.
Best submission I've played so far. the music SLAPS it is fun responsive, and a cool use of the theme. thank you for uploading. what a fun experience.

Developer

Thanks! The menu song is going to be stuck in my head for a few days lol. I'm glad you had fun playing it!

Very nice game, you've got a lot of options here, and it's deep.

But the enemy needs some love

Developer

Thanks! I ended up sacrificing time on the enemies for some mechanics and in hindsight it was too much. Definitely giving them more love next time.

Unusual networking, pity the bosses are monotonous, but so not bad

Developer

Thanks! Yeah the enemy variety is lacking, definitely a focus for next time.

Maybe due to my old hardware, but the music was choppy and the framerate was also choppy.  Otherwise seems like a good game.  Enemy flight paths are pretty linear/straight, not sure if this is a design decision or if angled flight paths would add difficulty to the game.  Noticed a spelling error "mutatations" in the weapons upgrade screen.  Nice playable game overall.

Developer

Thanks! I hadn't really thought of the enemy paths during this but that's a good point for next time.

The evolution mechanic was very creative. I did feel like the enemies were a bit repetitive, though. Still, this is a hella lot of content you made for 10 days jesus good job

Developer

Thanks! I agree they are repetitive, next time I'm going to focus more on enemy variety.
