Yeah ran out of steam. I had three more bosses planned to wrap things up and for the story mode to be it’s own seperate mode from the arcade version.

Simple but very fun. Made it to wave 8, probably shouldn’t have neglected speed upgrades. Very well balanced but I suppose the game just get’s to a point eventually where everything is moving at 1000% speed.

The music was awesome. Loved pretty much everything about this. Hard to know where the frogs hitbox was but eh.

Yeah soft locks are annoying. Super cool art though. Not a huge fan off all the camera smoothing.

FYI, screen seems to break on browser play.

I can tell a lot of effort went into this. Clean, tidy and fun.

Clean. God tier art. Loved it.

This might win the Jam.

32 is best I could do. Cute, fun, solid game. +10 points for Pico8 🩷

Wow this is cool. +10 points for Love2D as well.

Yeah definitely just ran out of steam with making content. Thanks for playing and looking forward to checking your entry out.

I see. Yeah it is was it is. Very old school arcady kinda game. I was just concerned it was FPS as in theory it should perform very well even on a potato.

When you say slow are you referring to the gameplay or the game was literally running slow, as in FPS?

This is bonkers. It’s unfortunately made for a jam and as soon as I realised what was going on I tried skipping straight to stage 20 but alas it didn’t exist. With enough time the potential of something like this could be huge. AMAZING WORK!

Of everything I’ve played so far this is probably the most unique mechanic I’ve seen. Pretty simple game but the potential for this is massive. Felt like line rider.

Well implemented dash - feels great. Simple but very fun.

Could have been cool if the giant bullets weren’t there and had proper art.

I mean the theme fits I suppose.

Yeah… pretty much instantly - like the first couple of button presses felt better than the AI version. Same amount of time but orders of magnitude better results.

AI is cool and impressive but I don’t think it should be fully taking the reigns in pretty much any of it’s applications at the moment.

Adore the cover art. Super polished and responsive little game. Lots of effort went in. good work

Yeah this is the most fun one I’ve played yet. Super polished and cool.

Ohh no, no bullets…

Wow this is one of the deepest games I’ve played for a Jam of this length. Obviously a tonne of effort went into this one - fantastic work!

The upgrade/mutations system took a while to figure out but it opens up a very cool kinda roguelikey sort of play.

I might not have been engaging with the systems well enough but from a design perspective the game does lean away from skill with the tougher stages/bosses and more onto having the right upgrades.

Cool game, and lots of effort was put in. Loved the different kinds of enemies.

Yea difficult game. Nice visuals. Cool concept of multiple short rounds against the same enemy.

Fantastic. Loved the art, sound effects and the cute monsters. Tough challenge. The music was very good but I felt it didn’t fit the vibe perfectly.

Yeah it’s definitely not fair. The phoenix was my idea of an endgame boss but of course it’s just the third enemy. The intended strat is to just craft a poison, craft enough potions to build your hp up to 10, then poison and defend through the phoenix fight. Once you’ve killed phoenix you’ve got all the materials to craft the end game item to end the run.

Thank you for playing. Yeah sorry, unfortunately it’s one of the limitations of the Pico8/Picotron - you can technically override their default controls but it’s kinda hard.

It’s meant to emulate an old SNES controller.

Use one poison then defend while he dies to poison.

You need bombs to fight and you only need to fight the slime twice(depending on rng) to complete the game.

Yeah the game was too short to have the enemies drop anything that wasn’t materials necessary to craft the endgame item.

Thank you. It’s inspired by a series called Atelier - very “anime”, but fun crafting based rpgs.

Really like your art and music, especially the title screen and victory card. image.png

Loved the intro cinematic. Loved the music. A bit simple but well polished.

I’m sure the game is great but I realised you can just spam jump and go straight to the exit…

I wish I could play but alas, on a Mac…😭

Yeah best looking game of the Jam by far.

Really fun. I was determined to reach bottom.

I’m curious, is there an upper limit on drilling speed? image.png

I need to come back and commit some more time to this one as I’d like to try beat it. Pretty cool idea. Game could almost be turned into a rhythm game.

The cash doesn’t reset when you die so easiest thing I found was to just grab as many gems as possible, die, and then gtfo. Loved the skele death sound. image.png
