Pretty good story, nice pill mechanic, a little bit easy thought. I like this very much

Very cool idea to blend a visual novel with bullet hells. Really silly game, thoroughly enjoyed it <3

This was really cool. Visual novel and bullet hell genre mixup. Good game

I loved this, haha. I was NOT expecting it in a bullet hell game jam, but it totally works.

Story was short but cozy, though it did feel a like a cliffnotes version of itself at times with how fast/short some conversations and thoughts went. Got a bit of a chuckle of out of the “similar looking coffee shop” scene with its flipped background.

As for gameplay, I felt pretty unengaged with trying to dodge most of the time since your health bar is so massive you can just facetank the game’s patterns, a lot of which is either difficult to read because of coming from multiple directions at almost all times or walling you off unless you use a bomb/med.

This was a trip.

The lack of a visible timer, the finite quantity of meds, and the inevitability of taking damage all work together to create a feeling of palpable anxiety. Which works well with the theme. This could be developed into a more complex game! Thank you for sharing it with us. 💙

Very neat idea having a visual novel style mixed with bullet hell.

The Bullets felt super fast and hard to dodge in a lot of situations. There was plenty of health so I’m not sure if it’s intentional that I should just tank hits to move into a safe place. It also wasn’t clear at first that I was meant to be surviving for a certain amount of time after I took all my meds :D

Interesting concept. For me I don't think the visual novel genre fits very well with the bullet hell genre, but the bullet hell portion of the game was good. Had fun dodging the projectiles!

Definitely an incredibly polished game. I like everything about it. Who knew Raccoons could program so well?

i loved the juxtaposition of the intense bullethell with the calm office ambience, which i think suited the anxiety premise perfectly!! the story was super cute i hope damien enjoys their new job and home :))

Wow, this was an incredible marriage of theme and story to gameplay. The way that you took a very anxiety-inducing genre like bullet hells and turned it into a metaphor for anxiety in daily life really bowled me over. Very impressive use of games as a vehicle for the human experience!

The return of the VN Shmup mashup :D

And yeah once again it’s a cool genre mix that work well, i like the way you incorporated the theme to the story (with the character’s limited time to act).

I also really enjoyed the anxiety meds acting as a screen clearing bomb for when things get too wild, it’s a clever take on a classic mechanic to fit the story.

It’s cool as well that you had a bit more location changes for variety, and i had a good laugh when the characters themselves almost broke the 4th wall by pointing out how similar the coffee shops looked XD

Also like your style of building characters from photobashing.

Overall i had a good time, the shmup segments felt right in terms of difficulty balance, and the music interludes really did a great job at reflecting the growing anxiety of the main protag untill the big day.

Well done :)

This is a very wholesome game. The story is the game's strong point and it's great how you've managed to combine it with the bullet hell mechanic.
The visuals are great, they're not only beneficial but they compliment the game well. I could immediately recognise Kevin's music and it brings me positive memories.
The only real downside is the bullet-hell mechanics, the main issue is that your game falls into the, and I'm quoting theChief from Discord for this: "the "it's okay if the player is hit, they've got a healthbar - so we'll make it flat out impossible to avoid damage" trap." There also isn't really any indication that the player is about to go into bullet-hell mode.
Other than that, the bullet mechanics are good and I was able to get through it to the end.
Overall though, this is a great addition to the jam. Good luck for your next project :D
