In what way does your game fit the theme?
Here's the hierarchy:
Memory rewind - Starts from remembering nothing to remembering past - Player has forgotten self, progresses in-game to remember past life

So basically, the player goes *back* (rewind) in *time* (rewind) to *remember* (memory rewind) *past life* (going back to past/ reliving pase).

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all of the code myself with the help of Brackeys and few assets were made from scratch.

Nice graphics. I didn't see any cutscenes tho (someone on comments section said about them), so for me it was just a orb collecting game.

Developer (1 edit)

Tahsnk to the feedback! There is actually a cut scene or something like that. Once you collect 5 orbs, you're gonna *hear* the memory.

Developer

Unfortunately, I can't do that because I only have windows. Will try to upload a webGL version once the jam is over.

At first, I though the game was bugged. Then I found the 5th gem and could complete the first memory. Would love you have subtitles on them at least. It definitely has potential for more exploration and more level.
Great job. Congratulations!

Thanks for the feedback! I plan on making a big game out of this. I've already fixed some problems and will update the page once the jam is over.

Cool game! It was fun wondering and exploring the world. Level design was good, but I think you should shorten the grass or give player a sword or scythe or lawn mower xD  or something to cut the grass. It became a bit annoying that you had to jump all the time to scout the area. Also make a sound when player picks a red ball and add a counter how much player needs to collect them to proceed.

At the very beginning you could tell player what to do. Maybe it would be enough to put the first collectable right in front of player and after it is collected tell the player that goal is to collect them all.

Houses could not be entered. Add a door if that was made on purpose.

Graphics were nice and the mood of the game felt relaxing. :) Keep it up!

Really cool, I loved the audio, so calm!

Please, rate my game too!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Will rate your game in a bit.

So cool! Liked the voice acting between the scenes. Maybe you should add a counter that tells you how many memories you collected, and how many left to collect.
Anyway, it was a nice experience :)

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I've already added those features and will update the page once the jam is over ;)

The game looks really nice, but the grass is way too tall and doesnt let me see ahead, or search for the red orbs

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I've fixed the issues and will update the page once the jam is over!

Good game and nice story! The execution of it felt a bit all over the place though. Each orb should connect to a brief memory of the place the orb is. It then goes to the bigger picture. My biggest complaint would be that the grass is too tall and laggy. Great start to a game in a week!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I've fixed some of the issues such as tall grass and difficulty while finding the orbs. Also, each level is meant to be a fragment of your past and the big picture with the whole story will be revealed in the end ;). I'll add all these features with the new updates.

Nice looking game.

Although I have some suggestions, if you don't mind :

  • First of all, it lacks some goal. Or at least I didn't understand what my goal is. I think you could show to me - the player - lead me to my goal;
  • Talking about leading to the player's goal. I saw an orb in front of an open door. As the player I assume that if a door is open and has an orb in front of it, then I can go through the door and there will be more orbs. But I get stuck in the collider). Don't leave visually open doors which are closed technically. If the door was, for example, blocked by some furniture, then I as the player would think 'yeah, I can't go through here, I need to find another way';
  • Make the grass transparent-ish when the player enters it.
Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I have already added some of those features and will update the page once the jam is over. I'll improve the buildings as well.

It does seem like an interesting story based game, however the problems I have were invisible walls that make it appear that  you'd be able to traverse through like an open door, lack of sounds of orb pickups and the tall grass that makes it difficult to navigate without constantly jumping.

Tis a well designed game, but needs some improvements.

Developer

thanks for the feedback! I've already added these features to the game in a new update. Will update the page once a the jam is over!

The game looks good, you did a great job on the environment with the birds sound in the background.

The graphics are good but it lacks meaning, context. I mean, I am there collecting red orbs but nothing happening. Maybe you should add dialogues, memories, flachbaks when collecting the red things. And also a little bit of indication,  idk what I am doing there, and where I need to go. The concept is good but it lacks polish.

But nice submit, have you tried my game?

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! You can hear the dialogues once you collect five orbs. I've added some new features in a new update. Will update the page once the jam is over.

Also, your game was cool!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! You can check out the help section for help btw. Will add more features with new updates!

The ambience is so great! I felt immersed in the game and I wanted to explore the whole map. The graphs are so beautiful too!
