Loved the idea for the concept! Like the other comments, need to check the music to not restart.
I liked very much the game design and cats are my weak point haha
Hope you continue to work in this~~

In what way does your game fit the theme?
When the player dies. Game starts to rewind all the actions player made.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes. I wrote whole code myself and most of the assets too. Two songs aren't mine, but they are royalty free music.

Nice game, I enjoyed it. The song restarts at every level which gets a bit annoying. Also the 'END' keybind isn't easily accessible on all keyboards. Had to press fn+home to stop the rewinding. Maybe choose another key or make it customizable
Its a good game, The premise is good and the levels are fine.
The controls were a bit confusign, try making them more intuitive (for instance, press enter to leave rewind instead of end)
overall,fun game. Well done :D
Awesome game with a great concept and great puzzles! Will definitely play this again when you do any updates :D
Until I read the comments I did not understand that you meant the "End" button on the keyboard and was always searching for something in the UI ^^
And in the last level I got stuck in a wall without the possibilty to reset the level :(
(as you cannot restart when you are dead, and the rewind did not rewind anymore)
This was amazing, the implementation with lives, the puzzle platforming and the theme meshes super well with it all. great job!
Thanks!
You don't have to wait btw. One of the concepts in the game is that you can interrupt rewinding by pressing End and continue from there. :) Every time you die there is a textbox telling about that, but you are second reviewer mentioning the same thing, Maybe I should put more obvious hints to guide the player.
Nice project, even more since it seems to be your first game.
I had some problems with it, but they are minor and easily fixable :
-The physics felt a bit wonky. Mostly when I try to walk on a floor that's a bit higher than me. And some cases of crates getting stuck in the wall (which gets pretty annoying for level 6).
-You should disable the collider of the cat when you rewind. It's weird that you can push crates while going back, though it never created a bad situation for me.
-The "end" key is really not good to use. unintuitive and weirdly placed.
-When in a dialogue (mostly for the food), you should lock the character in place, instead of locking it into its movement. This can kill the player sometimes, like if you get the food with a jump but there are spikes ahead.
-The main music has a strange start that gets annoying really fast. Even more since it loops back every room/death, instead of going on.
However, the level design was nice, the system is working, and you've got a good amount of levels.
So, overall, that's quite a good work.
Thanks! Yes it is my first public game. I have made some before but I have not finished/published them.
Yea, I know there is a bug in colliders and level 6 is suffering from that. :/
My goal was to use the rewinding also somehow and the collider is enabled on purpose. But do you think I should turn it off? I playtested it a lot and it didn't cause any problems.
"End" is used only because it says "End" on the key. I put it there because I felt it was fun. =D I'm considering to change that because it is quite far apart from other buttons and it should be easy to stop rewinding on the spot player wants to.
I am planning to compose my own level music later on. I just did not have the time to make more than intro/game over and "boss" music.
Thanks for your comments! Constructive feedback is always welcome.
Man... amazing game! I just finished. Really hard that last level!
Just a couple of things:
1) The "Enter" when you pick the cat food. Not bad, except the cat keeps sliding until you regain control of it. Problem is in some platforms, that lead to certain dead, when, if you freeze it's movement when the pop up... pops up, you have more chances to survive. I have to pic the food with my finger over the Enter to avoid that.
2) The platform edges are very slippery. I guess you use a capsule collider for the cat, so maybe adjusting the movement speed to give more precision when jumping.
3) The rewind function is cool, except when you use it in a short period of time, leading the cat in a position that always dies.
Example is when you die, you rewind, and stop in what you think would be the correct moment, but missed for a little, and the cat resumes and fall. If you rewind again, the first point of rewind is where you stop in the first rewind. Hope I explain it correctly to make the point.
This are really minor issues that could be easy to correct.
Apart from that, the game is really fun! Great work for a week! Congratulations.
Nice concept I enjoyed it a lot ^^
I think the rewind takes a bit too long, wish there was a fast forward button or something :p
I'd appreciate if you try our game too! :) https://hadilepanda.itch.io/corewind
I pressed the button and now I have nightmares, but this dialogue is fantastic, "Cats are at least nine times better suspects than rats and mice", I love it. I did get stuck on "Bridge of Bombs" though.
