Just, pure amazement.

This game is Steam quality made in 7 days. If it was expanded a little bit I would buy it for 5$ EASILY on Steam. The radio is a cool touch, the settings drawer fits perfectly and the story is engaging.

Great job man, this is one of my favorite games!

this is super motivational to read thank you a ton man!

This was really fun, I enjoyed my time as the master Roblox detective.

Some notes:

- No detective game is ever finished without a giant board that you put pictures up and put lines between suspects and locations

- The tutorial VHS Tape being counted as one of the tape confused me for a while

- The main "puzzle" of the murder is actually quite simple, really all you need is to watch around 3 tapes for it

- The tape sounds stop for a while after the tape started playing, and there's no indicator for when the tape actually stops (especially in suspects statements)

Really fun for a mystery game, would definitely recommend

Developer

hey thanks for feedback.

true about the lines connecting suspects I wanted to make an ending cutscene but there was no time unfortunately.

hmm I wanted to show that "hey this is how you increase that number" without saying it

wanted to keep it simple for the jam but with a lot of missdirections

I'll look into the sound thing

thanks a lot for the feedback good luck in the jam :D

Nice murder mystery! Things are a little blur  in security footage (i guess it emulates the blurriness of real life sec. footages :D, but if you pay attention you can find out that someone did something fishy) Some feedbacks:

  • Using mouse to control the playback of tapes makes the control feel slightly frustrating. would be great if there are hotkeys
  • My table can get pretty messy piling up all my items. would love to have the ability to easily organize them and easily re-view them when necessary
Developer

hotkeys are a very good idea true!

a way to clean up I was thinking after submission but for post jam why not  :D

thank you for the feedback

I liked it a lot, but the motion blur was too much for me.

Cool concept. I enjoyed looking for the clues part since it's not always obvious. The space is well used to fit the game design. Good job! Rated!

Really great job)

it looks amazing! would appreciate if you will try out my game

I like it a lot. Only problem is it's a little difficult navigating around, I think part of it is that my laptop isn't running it well enough but I do think the blur effect while moving is a little too high. Overall though, it's amazing, and you are definitely very skilled at 3D art.

Developer (1 edit)

<3. yeah I will tone down the motion blur on a later update (post jam) thanks for the feedback :D

Great take on the theme. A little boring for me, but that's just me not liking these types of games. Well done!

5/5 across the board I am hella impressed by everything in this, I hope you get #1 spot from all the games I've look at so far you really blew this out of the water.

Developer

omg! thank you so much mate!!!! :D <3

This was amazing! I can't believe I just spent 50 minutes watching video tapes and taking notes...

The only comment I will make is I wish there was some dead zone for the cursor. It would be nice to being able to center the view to the screen and freely move the cursor to the buttons.

And I couldn't find one of the tapes (possibly Jimmy Smith's) :(

Keep making games!

Developer(+1)

daaaaamn man what a nice feedback! I will look into the deadzone comment for post-jam update. <3

Things I liked, Honestly the whole game was pretty fantastic. You had a ton of animations, the world was highly interactable and the menu system was even built into it! Your idea for the rewind theme was really well done with the tapes and while I did have some stuttering at the beginning it lowered pretty quickly.

Things I didn't like, this was as much of a pro as it was a con but the player is left to piece a tad few many things together. If you even just had a clipboard keeping track of when everyone said they entered the theater that would have helped. Ultimately not the worst thing as that makes the act of guessing correctly that much more satisfying.

Overall I really enjoyed your game and I can't wait to see what other mysteries you bake up for us in the future!
