Wow!! Your game is so cool. I really like the train and the background. It just looks so good. I like the setting, reminds me of the movie "Source Code". The pixeled characters don't fit well to the environment but it's still nice. Good job!

Very cool game. I love the art and style before the game begins and after the timer has ended. In-Game graphics are also ok, but I don't like how mouse works. I felt it was weird. It was a bit hard to get the camera where you wanted to have it.

Maybe when the timer ends you should show suspects' entire body and name. It is very difficult to tell which one is which. E.g. I had in mind that the suspect I will choose has blue shorts and white shirt. And after the timer ends only upper body is visible... Maybe you should make the suspects more personal.

Over all very nice game! I enjoyed playing it a lot :)

Good job on completing the Jam!

The game is definitely expandable.

The art and sound effects are amazing, however the dialog got a bit annoying as it is the same everytime you rewind

[MINOR SPOILERS]

I like the idea behind this game! It took me a few tries to figure out the killer, and while I liked the first "twist" from picking a suspicious person and having them be something that wasn't the murderer, I was not as impressed by it when it happened a second time. I was also a little annoyed with the way the game is setup; after the first 2 tries, I had already heard all the dialogue and didn't really have any other suspicious people I wanted to guess, so I sort of just sat around waiting the two minutes so I could accuse again. I ended up picking the correct person, but I didn't feel super accomplished at the end because they didn't seem all that suspicious in the first place and I was just guessing until I got it right. I think it would be really cool to make the rewind go backwards in time so you could get different dialogue or watch as people left/came back, but I understand this was only a week-long jam. ;) Anyway, I may have just had a not-so-great experience with the game, but I did enjoy playing; also, the graphics were really amazing!  Overall, great job on this game, and I think you could definitely expand it!

Really well done! I think a great idea overall, and great art/ The sound effects you did have were nice as well. My only complaint  is that the text moves soooo slow, and there were a few tiny spelling errors. I agree with Arihan10 below as well, the controls were opposite of what was stated so it was a bit confusing at first. Otherwise well done and good use of the theme!

Nice game you got there! I really loved the integration of pixelated graphics with a 3d environment. The sound design was awesome, and the concept was also cool. As such, after finishing it once, I restarted the game, and found that the killer stays the same!

I feel that for such a short game (just a little over two minutes), there should be at least some replay value. Maybe make a randomly generated list of messages the people on the train give, and give the suspicious ones to a randomly chosen killer.

I also wasn't sure after completing the game if I had gotten the killer right or not- it simply flashed a news article saying "Murder on (some) train". The murder happened nevertheless of whether or not I found the killer, and therefore the article title would've been the same had I gotten the wrong person, right? Maybe put some text in the bottom that says, "You found the killer!" when one wins.

Oh, and in the start, it says "RMB to question" and "LMB to rewind". However, in the actual game, it's the opposite! I wasted the first minute just trying to figure out why I couldn't question anybody.

All in all though, this is a super interesting and fun concept! This could legitimately be a full game if it was extended moderately, and the puzzles were (somewhat) procedural! I can imagine this being a game on Steam where you play as an amateur detective :) Good job!

the lyrics were a bit slow but the musical details are top notch. Very nice and original game. I like the graphics :)

I would like to be able to pass the talks quickly, but talking takes time, so no problem.

Visuals are cool, 2D and 3D objects combined well. A pixel-like font for dialogues would go better in my opinion.

Nice game, I had good time while playing it.

Spoiler for other players: The killer is the butler. Whoops, I guess that was another novel.

I have to agree with many of the comments below regarding talking speeds, but the game itself was very enjoyable. Could be something if you continue with it :)

I love the graphics design of mixing pixel art and smooth shading together. A lot of people in the comments are mentioning that the text speed is a bit slow, and I kind of agree with that. However, perhaps that should be incorporated as a feature that some people talk faster than others, and that you would walk away from people who talk too slow and waste your limited time.

I had never thought of it like that but thats a great idea, variable text speed based on each individual is ingenious! Thanks

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and being on the train. the text was a little too slow. This was a cool idea though and you definitely could do more with this in the future

Great astethics, love the background and the setting, I actually had a dream about creating a game exactly like this but on a bus instead of a train, the game had an interesting design, I just wish it was a bit more polished, it has a few spelling mistakes and some bugs (like if you talk to someone and then rewind their bubble will stick), it was also quite hard to point out who did it based on the pixel characters due to them being very low res, I wish their name would be above the pixel characters in the end, since I mostly remembered all their names.

Overall it was good though, it was interesting and made me want to finish it, short aswell which is what a jam game should aim to be. Good job!

Sweet! I love a train murder mystery.

Good atmosphere, nice looping backdrop, good shading and lighting. Controls work well.

Kinda forgot about the rewind mechanic though, good idea and you can definitely expand on this and have a whole series of unfortunate transit events you can investigate.

I like the idea, the sound of dialog writing was a little bit annoying and the dialogs slow..  Also the menù was without music.. maybe to put some background music there.

Good job

I really like the art style, the game looks great :) The dialogue is a bit slow, but I guess it makes sense when your game is about time (or the lack of it).

Submitted(+1)

The theme is really good and the dialogues too, but I think the dialogues are showing too slow, but great game :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! The 3D effect is a bit weird, the dialogue is way to slow (I kinda get the time limit thing, but to me it's still pretty slow), but it's still a nice detective game!

I really liked your game, I liked the art style, the graphics and also I really liked the dialog system. Really good job! I think it is one of the best jam games!
