In what way does your game fit the theme?
There are red, green and blue bars which are constantly increasing. When you kill an enemy, you rewind the bar with same color as the enemy's color.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Fonts and SFX are not made by me, credited in the description. All rest is made by me.

Nice Game, well done for a first jam

To limit the player, you should build a box with colliders that only collide with the player's layer (that way, the enemies and bullets can go through, but the player cant go away from the camera)

And once you die you can close the menu.

honestly, those were the only bugs I noticed. Good work :D

Fun game!

I think about possible ameliorations (subjectively):

The fire rate can be increased.

A limitation of the terrain can be added.

May be a wave system can be implemented (the first wave can be easier to kill and player can rest for a while).

Good job !

Nice game, I think the shooting is too slow and I miss some effects when hit ..

Good job for your first jam.

Good job, i think if the enemies instead of having health should die instantly, would be more fun and I liked that every enemy have like his own skill

pretty fun game :D

Unique game IMO, loved teh scenario explanation of it too to set up some background.

I did find it to be fun! However it could be more challenging, which would also make it even more fun to people like me.

I found that keeping extra enemies of all colors on screen that were already damaged is a good way to maintain low gas levels, but I feel like there should be a relation between the numbers of enemy on screen and the gas levels, since it seemed too easy to just run from them and kill one of one color and not worry about that color anymore.

Anyway I actually love the concept and had fun. Nice work!

Nice job! I like how it's a bit different from other shooters! I think it would be good to increase the speed of shooting, since it feels pretty slow. Also, a few sound effects would be good, like when you shoot and when a bullet hits.

Otherwise, it's a really nice game! You implemented the gas bars nicely!

Thank you for your review! I will definitely improve this one after the jam considering your valuable comments, mates!

The game starts muted, this is a bug. You can unmute it in game via settings panel by pressing ESC or settings button at top left of the screen in game. You can close the settings pop-up by same settings button or ESC key.

Since the game has a "always on the run" concept, there is no time for the player to relax for a second. It might get overwhelming at times. So logically u can add a waves system. Also each wave u can increase the difficulty and also provide some power ups to make the game interesting.

I can see lot of potential if you decide to expand on this game.

Here's some feedback that in my opinion could be beneficial for this game and wouldn't take too much time:

- Incrementing the fire rate of the player

- Once the fire rate has been incremented, you could increment the enemy speed and make some of them move randomly

- Add some limits/colliders so that the player can't go outside the screen.

- Some type of score/time counter that encourages the player to survive longer.

Having said that, considering this is your first jam and you had one week of time, its a good game. Great job and keep making videogames!

Let's say there is potential. The fact that you have a sorta of a time limit to kill them adds to the action value. But there are a few thing I didn't get: I think you should really limit the area and not let the player wander off-screen, the sound effects are too loud and cover the music  and the theme is a bit weak

It's a fun game! But it gets repetitive after some time. Maybe if you had a couple power-ups that spawn at random (like move speed up, shoot speed up, etc) it would add a lot to the gameplay.

I really enjoyed tho!! Congrats!

Enjoyed the game, though I sucked at it. I think that  the bullet mechanic was a bit slow, but an easy fix. Overall a good submission for your first jam!

Congrats!

Overall the game felt very slow for a shooter, and it could have done with some camera shake, more sounds, particles, etc. Still, the few sounds you did have were great, and despite not fitting the theme very well, the main mechanic is and interesting way to make the player think a bit more when shooting.

Thank you, I will definitely use these advices to improve the game after jam.

Great game! I actually enjoyed it a lot, it has a simple mechanic and it is fun to play. Maybe different coloured enemies having different amounts of life would be a nice touch. But again, I really liked it!

I would appreciate if you could rate my game as well :)

Cool concept, i love what you did with the theme.

the sfx were a little loud but that might just be me

i would have liked to see more game play but given the time constraints it was pretty good

first of all I like the short form of the name of game!!!

a unique concept with some cool to it!!!

nice game design, audio, sfx,

high potential  game!!!! u should work on this!!!

Definitely a cool concept. I like the variation in speeds between different color enemies, and the sound effects are nice. I do think that the enemy spawn type should be less random and more need-targeted, since it feels somewhat unfair when a certain color bar is rising but the respective color enemy won't spawn. Overall, well done!

Developer

You are totally right. They are spawning fully random now, I will implement a new, more balanced spawning mechanism after the jam.

I think it has potential .It could make an ordinary bullet hell even more chaotic. There is one thing i noticed though. There weren't any blue enemies spawning for a long time so I wasn't possible to rewind the bar. Maybe you could only increase the bar when an enemy of a certain color is in the frame. And maybe multiply that by the amount of enemies of that colour are in frame.

Good work!

Developer

Great idea, thank you! I will make the bars increase only if there are same colored enemies in the frame, after the jam ends.

Nice idea, loads of potential if you put in some work after the jam.
