I really like this game! For the most part, the natural way that everything comes together for each puzzle is really satisfying in the end. I think the only real issues I have with the game are when it doesn't work that way. There's one level in particular early on where you have to get a box to the left of the screen to reach a yellow key. I may have missed the proper solution, but when I played the level I just ended up running towards the left with both boxes available to me and the physics kinda just let it happen. I think it's the lack of a 'proper' solution in my mind that really causes the problem there, which can be frustrating when I don't know if it's right or not as a player.

If there's any other complaints I have, it's that I can't propel myself downwards in mid-air and that the UI looks a little unpolished. It's really minor, I know, and that's because everything else is so well-made! The audiovisuals really compliment the gameplay nicely, especially the visuals (because they directly have to do with it at times). I didn't encounter any real bugs, unlike some other games I've played this jam. It's an interesting take on the 2D platformer genre, as well.

I hope it doesn't seem like the criticism outweighs what I like about this game. Because everything, from the level design to the art and even the music really makes it feel like a proper game that wasn't just made in one week.

I really enjoyed many aspects of this game such as the minimalist style and really sick soundtrack. I did find myself having to restart many of the levels though such as when the boxes wouldn't stack leaving me helpless. Restarting the level was a little frustrating possibly due to how the music would restart as well, and the song is a banger! I want to recommend a function in unity called DontDestroyonLoad which can help you continue the song even when reloading the scene. Still, very solid work on this puzzle game!

Game was really fun, the gravity felt a little off but nothing else. Really good game but needs a bit of polish.

I made a gameplay critique video on KeyHoler, like all of NoelOskar's games!

This is a YouTube video series where I play free itch.io games and critique their game design and development, from a fellow game developer's specific eye, offering my feedback, attention, and encouragement!

I really like this game; it's a nice simple puzzle-platformer. Definitely feels like a NoelOskar game :)

The art was really funny, I love the graphics of the little guy holding the giant key. I think this game has a lot of easy inherent comedy, which is great. The puzzles had a great difficulty curve, while constantly introducing new puzzle mechanics! The puzzle mechanics were very simple and understandable, at least/especially by a game-educated audience like this, and never felt rushed to be included. Each puzzle was consistently just slightly more difficult than the last which was pretty perfect.

There could be a bit more polish, sound effect on a door being unlocked (I don't remember there being a SFX there?), particles everywhere, particles especially on a door being unlocked, animation for door being unlocked perhaps, just more feedback to the player. UI making sounds when the mouse hovers over and clicks, make everything as clear to the player as possible. Reward them for their every action with acknowledgement.

The last puzzle seemed kinda impossible until I just hopped over and skipped the first key, which felt wrong, like I was cheating the game. The puzzles also ended in fail-states very often and very easily towards the end, where I had to manually restart (and the key R didn't restart!) every time.

Overall, very well done, excited to see your next work!

Pretty neat concept but it could use some balancing. Sometimes the levels were a bit too difficult because of the way the boxes behaved. But I really liked the post processing in the high quality graphics setting and the gameplay is pretty fun. Please give my game a try too :)

Definitely a great, fun game! The puzzles were definitely amazing, with the ability to only hold one key at a time helping that - with only two mechanics and seven levels you came to a great level of depth. Sometimes, even if you knew what to do, you would fail, which was sometimes an annoyance but was more often a great challenge in execution. Animations would have been nice, especially just the character raising and lowering their arms when they pick up a key, but that's a minor gripe. Great job!

It'd be awesome if you rated our game, Donut Wholes, as well!

Very Nice Game! Suggestion: Make the key the player is holding have a collision box, so it hinders the player's movement.

Level 1 and 2 felt offensively easy. Level 4 was my favorite, Holding only one key being able to switch it only with another key and unable to drop it was surely innovative thing for me and something i've never seen before, also very fun aswell, i enjoyed it very much. Character jumping felt horrible because of floatiness and no animation.  If it was some kind of angel flying, it would make floating bearable to me.

I am a big fan of puzzle games and yours was fun to play!

Nice implementation of the theme! The puzzles were quite creative even with such few mechanics. The visual style was fine. I like that there were quality settings. My biggest criticism here would be lack of gravity - the character took a long time to fall to the ground. Also, would have been nice to be able to start the game, restart and go to the next level without using the mouse since it's not used at all in the game itself.

I loved the puzzles!! The last levels made me swear out loud a couple of times when I did something wrong and got stuck. Kudos to the level design and overall fun!!

Here is our game, please consider rating it too ;)

Extremely addictive puzzle game. The levels are very nicely desgined, not too easy and not too hard. The whole idea is awesome.
