Really great job on this game! The gameplay is super addicting, and it feels great to be big, and so painful to finally get eaten. The momentum on the bigger things felt pretty crazy tho. To get the smaller things, you simply need to accelerate to max speed, but then you run the risk of getting near something big and having no time to react. Perhaps instead of reducing the momentum, you could increase the field of view, so even tho you are slower to decelerate, you've got more time to react?

Overall, the game is really cool, I just wish I could get higher than 40... Felt pretty good getting to that big, but I still couldn't take out any of the black holes, which was kinda sad. Random thought, but I wonder how the game would play if the planets had gravity, with bigger planets having stronger gravity? I'm glad to have found this before the end of the jam, and am proud to provide you with your (well deserved) 20th rating!

I really like it. Looks much better than agar.io so I hope you will add multiplayer ;)

I got to a mass of 168! Love how you change colour and texture as you grow from a melty rock ball into a planet, into sun! Great fun :) Would make the sun stage a little more responsive as I ended up hurtling through space unable to change direction due to all the momentum I'd built up :)

Really fun implementation of the agar.io mechanic. This was more chill than the online version, which I actually preferred. There’s something satisfying about taking your time and growing to be the largest thing on the map without having to worry about getting eaten up unless you do something stupid.

In that vein, the controls gave me some trouble. You did a smart thing giving larger objects more inertia, but I think toning that down a little bit would help. The small objects were very fast, and I had trouble moving around when I got larger. This is a small gripe because I had a lot of fun playing this game and I’m about to do one more run before moving on. Great job on this overall.

Here’s my game if you want to check it out: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-3/rate/572795

I really liked the game it was a lot of fun, the controls could be a bit more responsive but great game! Check out our game as well!

I really like the challenging movement of this game! It reminds me of agar.io and I wonder if  you can make this a online multiplayer game. Great idea and great execution!

Developer(+1)

I  thought about that too. I hope, I'll be able to do this once, but I would like to finish single player version firs :)

Fun to play! It looks more like the game "Spore" than a space simulator. Including gravity would be awesome.

Developer

Yep, working on gravity right now :)

Love it, one of my favorites in the jam! I like how the planet changes differently on each play

Submitted(+1)

Fun game, you thinking of working with this after the jam?

Developer

I hope, I'll be able to add atleast gravity.

In ideal case I would make it online multiplayer game like agar.io, but I'm aftaid, that i won't have enough time for that...

Fun to play. I've gotten killed 3 times from very fast little asteroids, highscore mass 11,2. I think i am not really good at this.

Fun game, although I've played several games with a similar game design.
You wrote "gravity not included", but I think that if you've included gravity, the game would be more unique.

Developer

You are definitely right. It was originally planned, but my inexperience with Unity meant that it was nearly impossible to implement such a big thing in the middle of the week without breaking entire game :(

I love the planet shaders ! Sometimes smaller planets seemed to avoid me, i don't know if you added IA to other planets but it was really enjoyable  even if I would have loved controls with a little less inertia ! Great job !

Developer

Yes, planet have AI. They can randomly move around, avoid larger planets or attack smaller planets. All planets have random radius at which they try to escape or attack, so it dosn't look same every time. :)

Minimalistic but still a nice game. The game idea is unique. Well done.

Developer

Thank you. Do you think it's unique idea? At the end, I find it very similar to Agar.io, because I wasn't able to implement gravity between planets...

I have not seen any similar games so far but i am still checking the games out.

Really clever game design!  I liked trying to eat up everything smaller than me while avoiding the bigger ones.  I wanted to become a black hole but couldn't get passed medium planet haha, I'll try again later.  Cool simple and clear graphics and audio!  Great job submitting a game to the jam!  Please check out mine when you have time :)

Very relaxing game. The graphics are simple. The audio is minimal allowing you to focus on the game. Amazing Game.

Developer

Thank you. I hope I'll be able to add some other features in following weeks to improve the experience :)
