Ayy an Isaac-like! I love the visuals, the hand drawn style is really nice to look at. Gameplay-wise, the game is a bit too difficult, in the way that the player's hitbox is way larger than it needs to be, making some rooms have unavoidable damage. What makes it an issue is that the upgrades have downsides that don't feel worth it, and the player usually comes out as equal or weaker than the next room. At the same time, the enemy designs are really cool and fun to dodge! Overall, I'd say the game just needs a bit of balancing and some more unique upgrades. Good job!

Fun game 👍 I like the hand drawn, sketched out, art style.

I was a bit put off by the way it looked when playing in browser but I realized that it was caused by the size of the viewport.

Developer (1 edit)

haha I did see that while making the game but chose to not fix it and decided to just manually set viewport on itch instead. Seems like it doesn't work in all cases.

The art is pretty fun, an exotic idea from the usual.

Fun idea and I had fun trying this game. I love the art style.  The difficulty was a bit high. Overall a good jam game.

Pretty cool game, feels like the binding of issac combat wise but the upgrade system is pretty unique! Goes without saying but the art is the highlight and really amazing part of the game, even how the bullets have a few frames of animation where they're slightly rotated is so cool! The only main issue I have is the collider of the right door, I don't get why it's a physical collision as you can get stuck on it during a fight , I think it would've been nicer to have it as a trigger collider and not change the shape of the level collision. Otherwise gameplay is pretty fun, maybe enemies could use a bit more telegraphing though, excellent work, such a cool visual style!

Thank you for playing my game. Your criticism  is very on point and I appreciate it a lot. I'm very new to game dev so these seemingly obvious problems/solutions just doesn't even occur to me. Again, thank you.

I really enjoyed the game! The difficulty spike between levels felt a bit sudden at times, but overall it was a great experience. The visuals are absolutely lovely — they really added to the charm of the game.

Some of the downgrades are brutal! I love the paper look, feels very much like my imagination running wild through the pages of my school notebooks.

very clever way in making the graphics, quite fun but the space to run away from enemies is too small especially those huge teacups >:C

It's quite engaging and encourages trying different strategies - also the visual style is very inspiring!

Knife goes 90 degree*

Death inevitable

Very stylish entry and a solid game loop. I like the idea that you agree or disagree with the change, not just upgrade yourself. That game descision is brilliant!

Ok - Super fun, but I would love if you went keyboard for movement, and mouse for aim OR selecting Deal or no Deal should be focused for Keyboard Input. I lost a few hit points going from mouse to shooting.

Otherwise, this is GOTY candidate right here.

Suppppppper cool idea on the art, loved it. Also nails the theme, I accepted a deal where I was faster, but the enemies were bigger and as soon as the next level loaded I audibly said, "OH SHIT," and laughed out loud. Good stuff.

The art is what makes this game. Great idea and execution! The hand drawn style and rough cut-outs make for a really unique and aesthetic game. Definitely one of the more unique entries in the jam.

what a invent! I like art of it! but the weak point is growing skills and level up system, it's get low worth in long session.

Fun little rougelike. The hand drawn on paper graphics are top notch! Reminded me of my school years when I would draw similar things with my friend on boring lessons.

Keep up the good work!

Awesome game! I like the very unique art , hand drawn notebook pages, remind me of the games I write in my notebook . The gameplay is easy to understand and is appropriate with the risk /upgrade  balance when choosing powerups. This has great replay value and I would like to play this again while chilling. Overall, I enjoyed playing this one! Congratulations!  Keep it up!

This is just so unique and so immersive, brings me back to childhood when I sketch on my notebook and play with my friends. Nice job!

Really unique artstyle, very impressed by it (never seen before). It's a simple game to understand and I had troubles in the beginning what I got cause I thought the left hand was all for the enemy and I always just get the right hand (25% health) but than I saw how it was. So bit of clarification for that maybe.

The enemies where all very different which I like, only the room was so small that big projectiles wheren't even able to dodge and def those cups where hard to walk by cause they hitbox very big.

Overal it's a cool small game you made with unique style!  (P.S. love the music Powerup is good choice)

Fun game! Cool approach to the artwork. A few sound effects on shooting and impacts probably would have gone a long way.
