Thank you!

I definitely wanted to have more variety in the assets too but I'm glad you were still able to enjoy the variety of the areas! Glad you liked the sky whales lol.

I appreciate the kind words as usual!

This is really incredible, I couldn't imagine making this in 2 weeks let alone 3 days! Such a cool mechanic as well with a really good amount of variety in how it was used, I really loved using masks to push the player and using the arrows to drag around the mask was awesome as well! Music was great too, the UI was very nicely polished especially with those level/menu transitions. Impressed with having coyote time too, the movement was nice and I liked the squash and stretch on the player. Super impressive stuff and such a cool concept! Awesome work :D

This was such a lovely game! For sure the coziest of the jam! The art is really nice, really love the transition from main menu to game, super smart! The music is so nice too, absolutely love it, especially with that ending puzzle. Loved all the little references scattered about too even if I didn't get them all. There's nothing I can say that others haven't already, this is just so nice! Awesome work!

I appreciate it! It'll probably be some time before I can mange longer projects but I'm getting there! Can't assure my next projects will be as interesting but I'll always do my best!

Such a nice game! The 2D art and character portraits are REALLY good, love the artstyle for them! The music is super good, the fact that there's different tracks for where you are on the map is awesome, I really enjoyed the track that plays where you get the horn. I wasn't expecting to have accurate penguin movement either but it's pretty nice to control, I especially like the sliding! As others have said you do have to go back and forth a bit too much but it's still pretty fun anyway. The carrot puzzle was super smart as well, loved that. Just a good time all around, it was such a nice time! Great work!

Thank you!! I could of been a bit more clearer with certain things, but seems it mostly worked out. Glad you enjoyed!

Thank you for such a detailed comment!

Glad you enjoyed the world, when I first planned out the items I actually wanted you to have to stick with what you pickup even if you don't like it, though later I realized it might be nice if you could at least put on your old hat if you didn't like the new one but I ran out of time.

You are right about the meter, it is sort of a health bar that is always going down but will go down far quicker during a storm/extreme fog (when the sirens go off) and ideally the player would stay by the fire during these periods, I didn't want to explain it properly in game but I absolutely could of made it clearer with some more hints of sorts.

Super happy you liked the transitions, and thank you for the info! I believe the original Mario game had a sort of similar impact on our culture with games where going to the right is going further in the level. Very cool to hear it's the same in film!  I did for sure struggle with camera placements and angles so this is nice to learn, not sure if I'll have an effect like this in any future projects but I hope I can apply this someday!

Glad you enjoyed!

I've got a statue to my name and have done all the quests! Super fun time! I gotta say this probably one of the best fishing minigames I've seen in a game, if not the best, it's satisfying, simple, fun but not too easy, yet overtime you do understand it and get a little better. I really love the music, super pretty and very nice to listen too throughout the entire game, it never got old. All the character portraits are very cute and very nicely done, having the game laid out in quests was a good choice, it felt very rewarding to complete them. I'm just really impressed how you managed to make the game last a long time and not get boring, the minigame is just super well made, animations of the rod and sfx during it are also very nice. Just super well done, it was a nice relaxing time and despite all the games I've played with fishing, this manages to top all of those! Excellent work, I really enjoyed this!

This means so much, thank you!! I'm super happy you enjoyed everything! I'm still pretty new to music and I can't help but go a little crazy with it lol, but I think that's just my style XD

I'm really happy you took screenshots, you look great in the sunset! (shame about the whole exploding thing after lol).

Like others have said the tunnels were a bit confusing but the rest of the game was nice, the underwater looked nice and was fun to navigate and the seal was very cute! Ui was very nice, including the itch page itself which is impressive! I wish there was more to explore outside of just the tunnels but it was still a fun enough experience, good work!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the music :D

Thanks! The meter was meant to be a bit confusing but I for sure could of made it clearer with better UI or hints, glad you enjoyed!

Thank you! I've changed the cameras so the character will walk automatically through them so hopefully it should be less confusing! (ofc I'll update after the voting period). Riding the whales to a new area would be sick and I 100% would of done it if I knew how to make the player stay on the whale properly (I've had issues in the past with moving platforms), so I just left the collider on them to at least land on them even if janky lol. I'm glad you enjoyed the music as it was very fun to make! As for the meter it was supposed to be intentionally confusing but I could of still made it a little clearer as to what it is (it is a health meter that is always decreasing but decreases quicker if the fog is intense/it's cold). If you  died in a green empty field of sorts, that was the ending of the game! (it is confusing and sudden but tbh I don't know if I'd change it even if more people commented that is is confusing). Glad you had a good mostly good experience though, thank you for playing!

I definitely see the vision, I do think shortcuts (and deciding to not take shortcuts) could use more decision making, maybe having the levels on a timer so you have to make riskier decisions could stop you from just making a super safe route as the time needed to explode/create the route would be slower than just taking the long way initially. Agree with spawning in the center but yeah the tutorial was nice! I do think there's a lot of cool ideas you could do with should you want to make it a full game!

Thank you! I had a hard time implementing the orthogonal movement (but it was a good idea I'm just too dumb to make it lol) so I ended up making it so the character moves on it's own when in the camera view and a few other changes for clarity. Appreciate the feedback, it's been super helpful, big thanks :D

(ofc these changes will be after the voting period)

This game is really incredible! I love everything about it, the music is incredible and slightly reminds me of Stray but this music also being dynamic is crazy! The visuals are so, so nice, seeing the colors change over time from season to season was so pretty! I really love the art style as a whole! This game feels like the feeling of playing minecraft, like how you'd experience it in a dream or your mind, it's so peaceful and you just want to stay in the moment. This is seriously one of the best jam games I've ever played, such fantastic work!

Very nice game! Love the easy delivery co inspiration! The car is very nice to control which I wasn't expecting. The bounciness of the player and UI was also super nice! Nice story too, with a wholesome ending! Loved how the current music being played was shown when entering the car and of course the music was very good! My only issue was the sfx were a little glitched, this is most likely due to the audio not starting and ending with 0 volume so adding in a fade in and out would fix it most likely. Very lovely game overall though! Excellent work!

Charming game! There's for sure an interesting concept here. First off the character design and animations are very nice, I like how the character waves at the camera at the start of the round, super charming. Avoiding the enemy penguins is pretty fun too and I love how they slide after you lol. I think the game could be shorter, it does feel like the destroyable blocks are a bit unnecessary but I like the idea. The ice physics were a little hard to deal with but nothing extreme. Gaining a longer fuse each death is a very cool idea as well, and visually it looks very cool. Overall quite fun! Good job!

This game is amazing! I've never really played job sim games but this super fun and chill! I personally started using blockbench this jam but it's awesome to see what someone skilled in it can do, the characters are all so charming and have such good animations (it was nice to see Solaire), even the items and jukebox/radio and coffee machine are all so nice looking and well animated. The job itself is also very nice, I really like how you handled ingredients and having to find some that are more hidden than others. I encountered no bugs in this game (aside from the firefly) and got 207 money!

I'm really sorry about the softlock, I completely missed it in playtesting but was able to see it is a recurring issue and have fixed it in the project however I'll have to update the game after the voting period.

Completely agree with the camera transitions, they were awkward even for me, I should've changed up the system but I just didn't, sorry.

At the very least I'm glad you found that music track, it was my favorite to work on lol.

Thank you for playing despite the issues and thank you for letting me know about the softlock, I've updated the itch page, for now I can only hope nobody else encounters it. Sorry again but I'm glad you enjoyed some aspects of the game!

I'm very sorry about the transitions, I should've made a better system, for now I've updated the itch page to explain them better but it is just a flawed system that even confused me at times, sorry again. But I'm happy you at least liked the visuals! There is an ending but it is not necessary to reach and if you quit before that's fine! Thank you for playing despite the issues!

Peak. What an amazing vibe! You've nailed the animal crossing aesthetic but it has it's own vibe at the same too! The visuals are super nice, transitions too, the main menu and sleeping animation are so good! Fishing is nice and chill too, with a pretty good fishing minigame, it is easy to sort of cheat by mashing A and D but it's still fairly cool, if you wanted to make a full game you'd have to add some additions to the minigame so it's not as easy to cheat. All the inventory descriptions were cool and charming as well, I caught all the fish but couldn't find all insects, in fact I think the insects might of been bugged, as eventually they just stopped spawning or maybe I got really unlucky and managed to miss them spawning for like 5-10 minutes straight searching for them. The polish of everything is very nice, the animations and menus are all very well done. Such a nice time, excellent work!

No problem! To clarify the minigame UI was indeed completely fine, the hints at the top were very helpful! The only issue was interacting with the item after it's complete.

As for the bust, I'm not very good with computer stuff in the same way if someone asked what kind of cat I have I'd say "orange" so I don't know what specs would help, I'm using windows 11, CPU I believe is "AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor ", GPU is "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060" and I have 16 GB of RAM, I'd be happy to give further info if you want.

I had this problem with my first two jams as well, it's quite hard to judge difficulty as the developer, for now my mindset is, "if the difficulty is hard for me, how on earth is the player with no experience supposed to play". Of course if you're having an easy time playing  in the moment it can be hard to judge and I haven't figured that one out either.

That's a shame as they look so good!! But completely understand. Fair enough on the brambles, they still look good and are 90% of the time clear but yeah it'd be nice to be even more clear.

I like the idea of this game but I did have a hard time lol. To start off with the positive things, the art is obviously incredible, it's a shame there's no real parallax in the background as I feel it would've made the world feel far more alive but it still looks great. The player sprite and animations are also very nice, the wings flapping look so smooth! The minigame for the transition is also super smart too and charming! But the gameplay I'm just not a fan of, it feels like it's a mix of flappy bird and geometry dash, both games that are know for being frustrating combined into one, I understand I may not be the target audience so fair enough but I just didn't enjoy it. You've mentioned in another review that coyote time would help and I couldn't agree more so I won't go over that. One other thing is it'd be nice if  the brambles stood out more, when you're trying to be fast and outrun the screen you don't have much time to look ahead and you're already stressed with making precise jumps you just don't have enough time to process what's ahead unless it's very clear. Still though, great work overall! I do like the sort of puzzle aspect you were going for, if the difficulty was toned down I think this could be very fun! Great job!

It's crazy to see quality like this in jam games, having a voice acted story was not what I was expecting, especially good voice acting too! Very cozy environments with very nice music as well, I especially like how the music changes at the top of the tower! The journal itself is super well written, it's mysterious, funny and charming (all the doodles and notes). The transition to the cleaning minigame is also very impressive, even more impressive is having a cleaning minigame lol, I have no clue how you'd even make one but it works perfectly. I did have two issues with the game, one being able to re-interact with items and getting stuck in the minigame area, I probably could've pressed escape but at the time it was not clear to me so I had to reset. The wizard bust was very unresponsive and I really had to mess about just for the mouse to actually drag the pieces. Aside from that everything is super good! The mood of the game is just really impressive, you've nailed the vibe down! Super impressive work!

Awesome game, this is the ideal jam game, polished and simple and fun! Amazing job on the art, love the pixel perfect look! Levels are well made, fun and interesting, the tongue mechanic is quite an interesting one and makes for some interesting encounters/level design. The music is super good too! I'd say the only issue would be not knowing where the player is when you spawn, having a little glow effect when the level starts where the player is or a red arrow pointing down at the player would be nice. Again,  great work on the visuals, super charming and all the particles are super nice, I especially love the stars slowly growing over time! Excellent work!

Neat little game! I like the artstyle, the character design is very good! The door transition took me while to understand but once I did it was actually quite clever, having gameplay as part of the transition is a really smart idea that I never would of thought of! Good work!

Very awesome game! I gotta say the vibe is... "on point" hehe.  But seriously, the visuals are really good, mixed with the sound effects and the excellent music it's just such a nice mood, I really got to say the music is super good, it really fits the tone of the game and was super comfy too! I think the puzzles are pretty good as well, I only had two issues throughout the game, I got stuck at one point  looking for new items and just started pressing "e" even if I didn't see anything, I eventually got the book #1 in the library but I never actually saw it, that may of just been my fault though for not opening my eyes enough lol. Second issue was at the police station, once I had my answer I only wrote the city instead of the country and city, I think the dialogue prompt should've allowed you to just write the city or make it clear you need to write both the country and city (though I did eventually do it right and got the ending). Overall a really good game, super creative visuals and amazing music to go with it, excellent work!

I missed the snake, I tried to look around more but ended up using the walkthrough video, I definitely wouldn't of found it myself lol. I really loved how it played music too, it's little stuff like that, that makes games so cool! I gotta say again how much I love the music in general, if it's actual playing or just placing notes in a DAW it's really beautiful!

This is INCREDIBLE!! Seriously, what an excellent vibe! The art and music is just amazing, I'm amazed at how detailed the art is and how much of it there is, the color palette is so nice, especially the characters and how they stand out! It was especially cool that there was a second music track towards the end! In terms of gameplay things were a little rough, partially due to me not having read the glide mechanic though, I do think there should of been some in game text to teach you it. I also encountered all the bugs mentioned in the page multiple times and having to reset the game but you know what, it just meant I got re experience peak over and over so I was not complaining. I like how the firefly particles point you in the right direction however I never actually found the third villager despite that and just got two sparks by repeating a villager quest. Also I was able to double jump once I only had three sparks. That ending sequence where you glide over the massive gap was so cool too! Such an excellent game! I'm still amazed at the quality of the art and music, I could easily spend hours on a full game like this! Also this being a custom engine too is super impressive! Awesome work to the whole team!

A short and sweet experience! The artwork is very nice, I really like how selecting certain objects would change them like the christmas lights lighting up! It's a nice cozy atmosphere despite the psychosis parts.  I like how the story is handled bit by bit (even if it was a little tricky at times to find what would progress the story). The ending did feel a little abrupt but it still ended on a positive note! But seriously, very nice vibe, the subtle snow and curtain animation and the room layout was very pleasant to go alongside the story! Great work!

Thanks! I Appreciate it! :D

Pretty cool game! I liked the environment quite a lot! While I was a bit confused as to what I was supposed to do, it was pretty cool figuring it out slowly, I especially liked the tree puzzle! I think it would've been nice to be a bit more direct about what you're supposed to do but I still think it's pretty good, I felt clever solving the puzzles and that's what matters most! Great work!

Glad you enjoyed :D

Incredibly impressive! I  gotta say I have no clue how you did the movement and get the world the way it is, this is seriously impressive! I wasn't expecting the art to be so well made either but it's really good including the animations! I really love how the tutorial controls were actual in game objects you could push around, such a fun idea! You've got some really cool stuff here, a full game using these mechanics would undoubtedly be awesome! Excellent work!

Thank you! I'm glad someone found the easter egg XD

Appreciate the kind words!

I legit don't know what to say I'm so happy!! I'm glad you enjoyed my dumb sense of humor lol, I really had no clue if this would be the sort of style you'd like but I followed my gut and I'm glad it payed off! Archie was the highlight of the project for sure, from his sprite (goldendoodles aren't easy to make art wise lol) to his dialogue. I had hoped based of your letter you'd enjoy a story and I tried to tell something based of past personal experience (don't worry my house was never flipped irl). Glad you enjoyed the audio, I didn't expect to make a small game soundtrack this project but it was a lot of fun, for some info the talking sfx for the player is a piano, the angry face people is a tuba and Archie is a banjo. Super happy to hear it runs well! When I first read your letter I was pretty confident until you mentioned the laptop XD. I'm really super happy you enjoyed, it really made it all very worth it :D

And so I took that personally. (will anyone beat my run :D)
