WOAH this is awesome

Really love how this game feels and plays. Visually the tutorial and game are great - small bug I couldn't decrease the water bar after a certain point and then would just lose. If balanced I can see this being really fun! Great job

Thank you!

This was very interesting, I found it to be quite a lot going on, I personally wasn't able to keep up. But the tutorial was well done and definitely went a long way.

Interesting concept, I enjoyed this mix of crafting/resource gathering with dam maintaining. Nice, that you did tutorial, it really helps out! However, I got stuck a few times, especially with that acorn, I clicked all the things around and nothing happened, maybe there is bug here. Overall, really original and fun experience, keep up the good work!

Very original, it's impressive how you have implemented so many mechanics, I didn't find it overwhelming.

I couldn't manage to left click the water bar, and I found the game to be a bit too hard.

This is a very interesting and unique game! I do like it quite a lot. I think you've nailed what I think would be a great multitasking game, where you need to do a bit of everything at the same time via different simple minigames. The game is indeed very chaotic and it cost me around 5 to 6 runs before I finally got a win. The settings of this game are quite unique as well. I think I haven't seen beaver build dams in a video game since I played Pokemon Arceus, let alone a game designed around that. Nice!

For some criticism, I'd say the upgrades are a bit unbalanced, where it's crucial that you picked "increase drain rate" as the first upgrade no matter what. It feels like it's almost an automatic lose if you do not do so, and it's basically a win if you do that. It might also be caused by the fact that the unupgraded draining speed is so low to the point of not even draining when past the point of around a quarter full. This also has an interesting side effect of being stuck in the tutorial where you can't progress if the water is not and will not be drained. I think the best way to deal with that is to make the filling speed constant rather than scaling with the water level. There is also a strange phenomenon that during the late game, it's not possible to fix the dam no matter when you press the correct key, but luckily for me, the upgraded draining speed is so high that even a severely leaking dam can be drained without any issue.

Anyway, this is quite a unique entry, and I think you do deserve some praise for it. Well done!

Developer

Wow, thank you for that detailed feedback.

And about that "strange phenomenon": I don't t know why it happens, it shouldn't, but it does. I tried to fix it, but there is nothing to fix, it just happens :D. I'll have to do some deep digging to find that bug.

I'm impressed by the number of mechanics that you have in here. The art works well, the audio works well. I liked chopping the chopping trees and refining them into sticks - I also like the 'repairing the damn' process, too. I think the game would work really well without having to hold left-click on the water meter, I think that hurt the flow (pun?) of things and made it difficult to enjoy the other, more involved mechanics.

Thank you for feedback!! :D

I really love the aesthetic of your game, I think it looks great and can be great as well. Unfortunately I may just be a bad gamer but I couldn't keep the water down regardless of what I did :( But I think the idea is great and the game has a ton of mechanics!

Developer

Thank you!!!

Really enjoyed the concept but had difficulty with the water bar bug after the tutorial.

Developer

This bug has been troubling a lot of people :(, shame that I didn't see it before the submission.

I like the concept, I just got so overwhelmed by all the different options very soon. I would love some more accessible difficulty options for someone like me who is not best at multitasking.

Really hard but it's a cool idea, the controls did feel a little awkward

Man i really wanted to play your game ! The conversation between beavers idea is reallyyy nice and the art is sweet.
Unfortunately i was not able to left click on the water bar ! Nothing happened :'(. I tried everything. Full screen or not.
I am using browser Brave.

Developer

Try holding left click on the water bar right after the second message pops up(if this is in tutorial). Unfortunately I can't fix this bug now, but others have already noticed it. Sorry!

I couldn't get past the tutorial on Firefox :(

There's a bug in tutorial sorry, look lower in the comments for solution, thank you for playing!

Very difficult but I loved the concept.  I couldn't get very far though...

Developer

I need to balance the game a bit. Thank you for playing!!!

All of the different controls are a bit chaotic but it's actually really fun once you start getting used to it! Having to keep track of everything is pretty fun :)

Also you're brave submitting 30 seconds before the deadline haha

Developer

Thank you!!

My record for submitting my game was 5 seconds before the deadline :) - I need every second of this game jam :D

It was tough but ended up being pretty fun. great job with the art! Really cool you made everything from scratch.

This has some really cool ideas but it gets pretty hard to play when countless birds and acorns come at the same time. Might also just be that I needed some other upgrades but still pretty fun game. Love the chaos of having to manage many things at the same time.

Very nice concept, I love the multitasking ideas of game and I love beavers ^^ Big fan of rhythm game I think I'll go back to your game to improve. I did not see birds except during the tutorial.

Congrats!

Developer(+1)

The birds come if you chop even more trees than for squirrels. Thank you for playing :D!!

So creative! The tutorial is super helpful and left me with no questions regarding the gameplay.

I really like how fun it is to chop down the trees (just rolling the finger through the keyboard, lol) and biting them down to get sticks, while having a dance dance revolution moment with the acorns.

Really been a blast playing, although the water pump button would most of the time not work (after I restart the window it does work for some reason,  but then again doesn't respond).

Good job man!

Developer

Thank you!!! I'm glad you liked it!

The game was fun for a while, but once I got all the upgrades, you can kinda just... ignore everything else and hold left click on the pump. In order to get through the beginning you basically need to buy one specific upgrade immediately. The bones of a really fun game are here, but I think some play testing would have done immense help to the game. Anyway, thank you for reviewing my game, and for a solo developer, the fact that you made this much in a week is incredible!

Developer

Thank you!!!

Loved that the bevers have to make the sticks and they way of chopping down tress and the rhythm aspect of placing is really good! Would love if you could check out my game CTRL+ALT+ESCAPE!
