Cool game ! Loved the sfx and pixel art style ;)! Good job to the team!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! 😊

Took a little bit to figure out what I needed to do, but once I did it was pretty fun! Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We did put little to none tutorials in the game mostly because of the time but also so that the players could figure it out for themselves how to progress and add to the experience of the gameplay 😊

Trying to figure out what to craft with what to get the required item actually took some time, but, after giving the wrong item and getting bombarded with hordes of demons was pretty fun 😂

Pretty nice little game, well done! 🌸

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! That’s exactly the feeling we were going for when you deliver the wrong item. We wanted to add some kind of indicator to help players learn how to craft items, but we ran out of time as you can see in the submission page... 🫠

Submitted(+1)

I felt like i tried everything, and i still dont get how to craft items. I love the visuals and the audio but I feel like you should incorporate somekind of indicator or text to tell us how to craft. Other than that, good job on the game!

Developer

Appreciate the feedback! If we had more time, the indicator would definitely be there. 🙃

Beautiful game! I loved the visuals, and I *especially* loved how simple and intuitive the crafting mechanic was! Didn't need a tutorial or anything - just combined a couple of things and done, ez pz. The sprites you made communicate this really really well, and I think that's pretty impressive!

The gameplay itself is pretty fun too - I'm curious, is there an actual ending? Or is it endless? Also I loveeed how the enemies start spawning more and more once the wizard dies - that's such a cool visual way to communicate "you fucked up", lol. I did find ONE issue with it - in my first playthrough, I stood against the south wall of the building and was pushed *outside* by the creatures - which meant I could run around the building and they could *never* catch me, haha. Thing is - more kept spawning. So many of them spawned, in fact, that my computer started to lag - so I gave up and let them kill me 😂

Either way - awesome stuff! I see you've submitted it 59 seconds before the deadline - impressive, but no match for us ;)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We really tried to keep the sprites simple and unique so all (or at least most) of the crafted items were intuitive!

The game has an ending! There are approximately 15 crafting recipes in the game. After you hand the wizard all the items, the game ends and you win! Unfortunately there is no win ending screen.

We already knew that enemies could push you through walls, but we thought we fixed that LOL.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback and holy crap 12 seconds before deadline is actually insane hahaha

Submitted(+2)

Hahaha it was intense, that's for sure! Lesson learned for next jam 😂

Good to know it has an ending (sort of)!! I might give it another try if I have the time then, it was super fun!

Amazing job :D

Cool core loop ! Well done to the team ! The ambiance and the pixel art are nice too ! Maybe the mouse controls are a bit complicated and the craft a bit complicated to understand ! Keep it up :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!!
We wanted the player to explore all the possible item combinations. If we had a little more time we could improve it by showing *where* the player needs to drop the items in order to craft stuff.

Submitted(+2)

Very fun! I was a bit confused at the start with the lack of ingredient list or something, but after playing for a bit I actually think that that is a really fun decision, although do watch out for colorblindness if you decided to expand this to a full game. I really like the "you cannot attack while grabbing an item, and item dissappears if it stays on the ground for too long" mechanic! Really made it much more intense. Amazing work!

Developer

Yeah, that's what we were aiming for! We considered adding some crafting recipes but we figured that playing and exploring with all the different ingredients would be much more fun. The not much colorblind-friendly sprites issue really needs to be addressed eventually, especially inside the wizard's speech bubble.
Thank you for the feedback!!

Really nice! Aesthetically it's great. It took me a bit to figure out the crafting but once I got it, it was a fun little gameplay loop! Nice work.

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback!

Great game, works really well, with some small improvements and possible co-op this would be a nice. Art is very good and has great clarity for pixel art, overall really polished. I played for some time, not sure if the ritual really ends after some time, but did not have time to push it, would have expected the game to gradually getting harder and harder.

Developer

The ritual ends after all the ingredients are handed to the wizard! Unfortunatelly though there is no win ending screen, it's the same as the game over :(. Appreciate the feedback!!

Submitted(+2)

cool game! looks really nice,. Took me a while to get what was going on, but after that, game was really fun.

Good luck!

Developer

Thanks!! We really appreciate the feedback

The audio and visuals of the game are so great! The idea of alchemy and delivering to the wizard was so fun! I didn't really know though if I was doing it right hahaha

Developer

thanks for the comment hahahah. Yeah, we were not able to create a tutorial for the game with the time we had available. Sorry about that. But we're happy to know someone acctualy liked the audio, as we made all the game's audio and music in the last 3 or 4 hours of the Jam hehe. And we're glad you liked the visuals too, it took us a lot of time to make the pixel art.

interesting idea with the crafting

because of the patterns on the floor, I thought that you need to put items in the circles to combine them, and they appear on the platform at the bottom of the screen, but it turned out the other way around

then I thought that the circles on the floor would be filled with already combined items to track progress, and again no

i guess they're just decor

they're distracting

Developer

Hey, thanks for your review!! Yes, we had this idea of filling the circle on the floor with the already delivered items to track the progress in the game, but we did'nt do it just because we were'nt able to within the time we had left. It was just a lack of experience on our team, as this is the first game we made together. We are very sorry about this. But again, thanks for your review. Its good to hear this same idea we had coming from other people too!

A nice game to play, at the beginning I didn't know what to do, but after understanding it it's really fun to play

Developer

Hehe, good to hear you had fun! Yeah, we intended to make a tutorial for the game, but the time was over before we could do it. Its an actual problem, since it is not really intuitive what you have to do. But again, we're glad you could find out what to do and thanks for your reply!

The game looks and feels great to control, I really liked this one. I was quite confused for a while at first when it asked for a bottle of water, and I didn't see any bottle-y ingredients to use. However, I realized after looking at the screenshots that there was a lot of stuff off-screen because I was playing in the itch.io window, rather than playing fullscreen.

So just a heads up to anyone else playing that you've gotta play in fullscreen to play the game properly :)

Developer

Hey, thanks for your reply!!! We're happy to hear you liked our game! And yes, this was one of the big problems with our game. We even wrote it in the game's description, about the full screen. Since we had not much time left, we couldn't fix this problem. As you can see, our game was submmited 59 seconds before the deadline hahahah. But again, thanks for playing and it is really joyful for us to hear you liked playing it. :D

Submitted(+3)

Really nice! Super unforgiving in a good way, fits the theme perfectly and I really liked the "action crafting" concept! Art and music was beautiful. I would have liked some sort of counter to keep track of how far along the ritual was (or some kind of clock if you're just meant to survive for as long as possible). But I still had a lot of fun!

Developer

Hey, thanks for your reply! We're glad to hear you liked it! Thanks for noticing our efforts to fit the game in the Jam's theme. We thought that implementing this "unforgiving" mechanics was a good idea, and its good to know it was not just us hehehe. And about the lack of game progress tracking, its true. We had some ideas of how to keep track of the progress, but the time was over before we could implement it. As you can see, our game was submmited 59 seconds before the Jam's deadline hehehe. One of the ideas we had was to draw the already delivered items in the ritual circle in a way that made clear how far you are in the game progress. But again, thanks for your reply! We are really happy to hear you liked the art and music too! There were a lot of effort put in all that. We pretend to polish everything and post a final version in the future. :)

Nice game! Having to hold the mouse to drag the items was a bit annoying, but otherwise it was very fun. I love how it lets you figure out the recipes on your own.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, at some point we had to decide if it was better to just click a button one time to grab the item and other button to drop it, or if it was better to hold the button to drag the items. We choose the second option because we thought it would be more immersive to hold the button and feel like you're acctually holding the item, besides it makes the gameplay a little bit harder. But sometimes it can be a bit annoying, we get that too. And we're happy to hear you liked the fact there are no recipes, as we did that in purpose and with this exact intent acctually! Thanks for yout reply!! :D

This was a blast! Very magical!! I think more variety in the sounds could add a lot of life it!

Developer

Hey man, i'm happy you played our game! The game you made also have a crafting thing, and it is incredibly good! And about the sounds, yeah... We litteraly made all the music and sound effects in the last hours of the GamemJam. Wish we had more time for doing this part of the game. Thanks for the review! Next time, we will try to do it better.

This was a lot of fun! I love alchemy in games where you put two elements together to make a new element, so adding that to the tower defense mechanic was pretty genius to me. I wish I had a little more guidance though since it wasn't clear that we had to fuse things, and the things the wizard asked for weren't very straightforward sometimes. Nonetheless, great game that plays super well! :)

Developer

We're glad you liked it! If we had a little more time we would have added a little tutorial to crafting.
Thanks for the feedback!!
