I really love this art style! It drew me in, and of course, the game is fun. The puzzle-solving is clever and enjoyable. This is definitely one of my favorite games!
Thank you :) We are glad you liked it !
i liked the visuals and sounds. very clever idea though. my game based on a similar idea as well
Thank you :) We are glad you liked it! We will play your game
The theme of this game is very well done and the art, music, and environment really help me feel immersed in the gameplay. It was a fun experience!
Thank you :) We are glad you liked it !
This was a cute concept! While I am a fan of platformer games, this one felt like it was really easy to softlock or die in, leading to constant restarts. I don't think the core idea is bad per say, but I do think that the level (at least as far as I got before I put the game down) doesn't play well with the mechanics. I do think two things that could have helped a bit would be making Nothing's timer visible, as well as adding just a little more time. Making the background more vertical would also help for determining distance traveled when high up on moving platforms. If Everything is in a certain place, you need perfect time to pull of some areas, and if you can't recover from overextending, you have to play the game over again. Honestly, all the game needs is a few subtle tweeks and some quality of life adjustments, and it'd be perfect. Amazing showing for your first jam.
Thank you for your comment and feedback. We are glad you liked it! Since this is our first game jam, comments like this are valuable to us. Later, we will make adjustments to the game and fix some issues.
The theme is coolly implemented, I liked the pleasant music and cute graphics.
Thank you :) We are glad you liked it !
Truely brilliant take on the theme. Fantastic concept!
Thank you :) We are glad you liked it !
Creative take on the theme and a great concept! I loved the art a lot!
Thank you :) We are glad you liked it !
This was an extremely clever take on the theme, and a great concept overall. I liked the backstory, the mechanic idea and the art. I think that the level design ended up being a little frustrating - I felt like Nothing dying should’ve respawned you at Everything rather than at the start, it felt very hard to make progress. And I think starting in a large open space to navigate didn’t lend itself as well to a puzzle game with this mechanic.
I think the reason a lot of puzzle or precision platform games use rooms that are relatively small is to give you quick resets back to the puzzle without reducing the challenge itself, and so that they can put the emphasis on the mechanic (thinking like Portal test chambers for instance). This game is so creative, I think it would be really nice to see a rework of it after the jam potentially exploring some alternative level formats to find the perfect fit for this mechanic.
Thank you for your comment and feedback. Nothing respawning into everything when you die is a nice approach and we have it in mind for future updates. We are glad you liked the game :) This is our first game jam. Feedback like this is important to us, thank you.
Gorgeous game and amazing take on the theme! This could genuinely become a great published indie game with a little more TLC. Beautiful and amazing work!
Thank you for your comment :)
This is a beautiful game, the art is excellent
Thank you :D
The story art and music is very nice, but i didnt quite understand how to get to that right button. Until i found out that you can switch players? Wow that is cool but i somewhat missed that? Would like some popup message with that, also platforming is hard xD But overall it was quite pleasant.
Thanks for your comment :D Actually, we wanted to add a small tutorial level, but we didn't have enough time. The platforms were a little difficult, yes :) We're glad you liked it !
Great approach to classic platformers! I enjoyed the gameplay and especially the visual, simple, but very beautiful. I guess you can name game "Nothing can't go back" :D
Thank you for your comment :) But "everything" is the white character and "nothing" is the black character. So actually nothing can go back, but everything can't. We glad you like the game !
The premise was creative and the game was easy to understand. 😂
Thanks for your comment
Very interesting, I think it'd feel more fluid if Something could go right, and Nothing could go left and you could swap between them. I had the hard time in the world just getting the first switch. Great concept though! FANTASTIC Art and Music. Great job!
Thank you for your comment :) Actually there are two characters "nothing" and "everything". At the end of the story "something" is created by them. We glad you like it !
Very unique take on the theme and evocative gameplay paired with such nice art, really good job!
Just one nitpick, it would be more intuitive if standing on a button would be enough to press it
Thank you for your answer and your feedback :) We need to add some extra feedback on this. We are considering it for future updates. We glad you like it !
I liked the concept.
Some personal notes:
The starting area spikes blended with the background made them hard to see at first.
I didn't realize the switching character thingy till i saw the controls, might wanna have an in-game popup
I tried jumping on the button to activate it based on how it looks and because it had collision, but once again saw the controls and then realized had to press e, having that popup would have also helped.
I would have like if each door was like a checkpoint. Its already hard with the right button disabled.
I personally didn't like the fact that everything respawned when nothing died. I mean "nothing can go wrong" so why punish me for it.
Sometimes I'd change from nothing to everything and accidentally move right, which felt like punishment if you went too far (under a platform that you needed to climb for example)
I don't know how this one could be solved tbh
Thanks for your comment and feedback. We are aware of the issues you mentioned and plan to fix them in future updates. This is our first game jam. Feedback like this is important to us, thank you.
I liked the art and the music, also the controls feels nice. The game is not perfect, there are many bugs but overall a solid entry; good job!
Thanks for your comment. We will fix these bugs in future updates. We glad you liked it !
Very nice game! Amazing concept!
Thank you :D
First of all i love the idea of having a character you switch to for platforming. Not sure if it was intentional but the white cahracter is unable to move left. I love the art and the audio but I feel the level was way harder than it should be because the main guy couldnt walk left
Thanks for your comment. Yes, one of the main characters "everything" cannot go left. Nothing can go in any direction( Nothing can go wrong :)). We created it this way due to the story and concept.
Really cool concept and interpretation of the theme! Fun platforming, and deceptively hard with the white character being unable to move left. I really liked the art style, and it was cool seeing the story come together and make the name of the game make sense to me. I would've liked a checkpoint in the first level at the gate cuz I kept dying and having to redo the first section of the level. Great work on this I enjoyed my playthru!
Thanks for your comment and feedback. We plan to fix these issues in future updates. We're glad you liked it !
