How does the game fit the theme?
You play as a war robot with one main function: to shoot and destroy.
However, something goes wrong, and your mission suddenly changes to saving cats.
You must avoid shooting them at all costs!

This game is an anti-shooter. Instead of pressing a button to shoot, you are trying to do the opposite.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All 2D graphics and audio are from external sources.

How many people worked on the game?

A really cool game! I destroy some of the cats in process but still gone pretty far :3 Nice one!

Cool game! Visuals and audio are good and the level design works well. Good variation of enemies. I also like how smooth the controls are and that you move pretty fast.

I had a blast trying to save as many cats as I possibly could :D

Thank you!

Love the premise of a war robot that has to do the opposite of its purpose, very fun!

Developer

Thanks

nice game!

Fun story and fun to play! Cool visuals and music.

This was fun! Reversing the shoot mechanic is an interesting take.

I love the idea of saving cats in the midst of what looks like an alien invasion :D makes total sense

Good fun! I think maybe if you continue to develop the game it could be a good idea to have options of different upgrades, which would increase replyability, but other than that I enjoyed the game a solid amount!

Developer(+1)

Not sure that it's going to be fun more then 5 minutes :

Actually, the upgrades were the last thing that I did before the deadline. So,  they're very simple.

Good job on the game ! Love how you switched up on the normal shooter mechanics ! Overall very well executed.

My main advice to make the game feel better: give all the players actions some sort of impact. The bullets hitting the enemies should give some feedback, more sounds, some particles - then everything feels more lively and you feel more like your actually interacting with the world. Again: great job <3

Thank you for the detailed feedback!

Yep, the game lacks of the feedback elements. I'm also not happy with the standard behaviour of the 2D physics. I'll probably make a few fixes when the scoring period is over.

I had a good time playing! Keep up the great work

I like the idea of going against the grain of a typical shooter-style game. Is the song a Muse remix?

Developer

I don't hear it. Do you have a specific track in mind?

I swear the cat ran in front of my gun

Developer

We believe you ;)

I killed a cat and now I'm mortified haha. Interesting concept, where the player is actively not shooting rather than shooting.

Developer

Thank you

Clean and interesting game. I definitely had fun for a couple of minutes 👍

Developer

Glad to hear it :)

good game, looks nice and professional, would like more to do (i might not have found it all though)

Developer

Thank you.

The game consists of a single level. It's about 3–4 minutes of gameplay.
Though it's challenging to find a sufficient number of cats on your first run.

Good game, although I gotta say a game where you can shoot and kill cats is a bold design choice. Overlooking that I've had a couple of problems with collisions where I got stuck. other then that pretty solid

7.5/10 :)

Developer

Thanks!

Hah, it's indeed a bold choice.
We wanted to encourage the player to avoid shooting. We thought nobody would want to harm cats! So they are a perfect fit for our game.

The level design is well done. I had fun exploring.
