Love this, I had some issues with it not running with Chrome but switched to Edge and it worked fine. I found the music to be repetitive but everything else was so good, love the humor, art, animations I was legit wowed when I realized there were powerups to play with. I'm honestly upset there isn't more levels, good work.

Art and animation are particularly great!! The story kept me motivated throughout the gameplay. Really, the characters have personality and the world building is good.
The gameplay and systems are polished. The indicator when the character goes offscreen is an impressive touch for a game jam game!
The two things that I personally would change are the moving platforms and level restart. The moving platforms worked totally fine, but visually with a completely white background, and player movement as well, it lacked visual information--especially when static platforms were not on the screen at the same time. As for level restart, it happened so quickly that I'd lose a heart almost instantly about 75% of the time I restarted by walking off the platform, or having it break, etc.
Overall, great game! I enjoyed my playthrough a bunch :)
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm so happy you enjoyed your playthrough.
I absolutely agree with you on both the issues you spotted, we ran into them when playtesting, but ultimately had to pick and choose where our attention was needed most. Maybe one day we'll polish up some of the rough corners, I'm so glad the overall feel you got from the game was one of polish!
In any case, thank you so much for taking the time to leave this lovely comment!
Congrats to everyone who worked on the game! Everything on it is really really good! I've enjoyed the gameplay and the visuals are stunning for the time you had and the music fits both gameplay and story pretty well
OMG i loved the art, from the style to every effect and animation, such a great job, funny gameplay, flawless visuals, and lovely music that fits perfectly with the story.
Great game! It was a spetacular work for such a short time! Absolutely amazed! The artwork was top knotch and must have taken quite the time considering they are 2d animations! well done!
Cute game!! Really impressed with the polish you were able to achieve, everything felt great.
I've become a fan! I love how you incorporated shooting with air boost. Crumbling floors and tying that into the narrative was genius. The rogue like mechanics worked great, at least the ones I tried. The tutorial made the game easy to understand immediately. The story was genuinely lovely to experience. Art is wonderful and fits the 1-bit theme. The music was catchy and fit all the story beats. Plus, the game was super accessible in relation to options. I think the stackable purchasable items should have a number next to them to show the player how many they currently have. Besides that, nothing bad to say. If this is expanded upon in the future, I believe this could be a future released game, and more likely than not, I'll be one of your customers. Amazing work! I'll most definitely be speed running this again later,
Oh gosh, huge (if late) thanks for this incredibly detailed and kind comment. Thank you so much for taking the time to play our game! We tried to make as much of the mechanics feel naturally tied to the narrative, and Kfir's music was such a banger addition and made everything better. Agree completely about better player inventory communication! Left on the cutting room floor unfortunately. But hey, who knows, maybe one day we'll do the work and make it steam-shop-worthy. Thank you so much for the encouragement. Have a lovely day!
I keep getting errors stopping it from loading completely. "RuntimeError: index out of bounds" "RuntimeError: indirect call to null"
The layout of the game page is really eye-catching and cohesive. There is a good range of music. SFX are crisp. The character designs are unique with fluid animations. Gameplay is solid and punchy. Narrative is well developed. I love the way enemy interactions are not random but are a necessary part of the game mechanic in order to get to where you need to go. Nice touches with the platform crumbling and the way the black lines appear on screen when the player dies. Fantastic work!
So well done all around! Congratulations because it's a gem every piece work perfectly toghether and somehow I could see this going even further gameplay wise. I was about to think that it was about to become a bullet hell with all the abilities that I was getting. Great work truly
Oh god thank you so much for the incredibly kind words.
I'm so glad you felt the experience felt complete and cohesive, that was one of the big things we really wanted to assure before the deadline!
We actually had a bunch more ideas for gameplay that were cut for time, so it means a lot to hear you say you feel that potential!
Unlockable abilities my beloved, the best kind of abilities.
Thank you for taking the time to play and comment on our game!
Loved the game, the story, transition, the tutorial and the flow from the tutorial into the actual gameplay. Story reminded me a little of Hades. Great game! Also the ending reminded me of a very popular manga, not sure if you were inspired by it but it made me laugh a bit.
Thank you so much!
Hades was definitely a big inspiration and we indeed joked about the parallels while in dev.
I'm glad the whole experience feeling as cohesive as we intended it to be!
I don't read much manga so I'm not sure what you're referencing but now I'm curious!
In any case thank you so much for playing our game!
Loved this game and this art style, remembered me the old Cartoon Network!
If this game doesn't win I will be disappointed. The storyline is engaging, the uniqueness of this game is off charts, and the art style is incredibly cute. Really well done game. It's hard to believe such a well thought out game was made for a game jam.
Love this, just such a great submission. Artwork is beautiful. Everything feels really nice and solid. One of my favs! All the bravos, fantastic job!
So far this is my favorite game in the jam. Awesome work! The writing is amazing. I don't often see such good narratives in these jams when it's not a main part of the game. And even without it, I'd still really like this game because I'm also super impressed with the gameplay and art. You did stellar work in the short amount of time you had!
OH WOW THANK YOU SM!! That's literally such high praise theres some bangers out there. The story was a large part of what we wanted to focus on this time around, and we had the benefit of having the Main gameplay dev (littlepuly) and the art/story guy (me :D) working in parallel about different parts, so we managed to put quite a bit of time into both! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for giving our project a visit <3
