Adorable graphics and this writing is so in my alley. Loved the guards they were so silly!! Loved the dialogue options we got they were funny as heck.

Really polished! Great main menu and pause menu. I do wish that pressing mid text scroll would lay the text out, for replays where you want to skip around! Music and sound effects give heavy Nyan cat vibes, which was low-key nostalgic.

I live read this with some irl friends and had a really great time! Speaking from experience, making a visual novel in Godot is no joke, y'all did really great! You should be proud of how this project turned out <3

Wow, what an absolutely stunning game- one of the best i've played in this jam.

I've played deck builders before, but the way this non combat game made perfect sense and was emotionally engaging. Leaving behind memories you used to rely on to keep you going, slowly everything blanking from your mind except climbing. Difficulty was perfect, and i constantly felt tense i might not make it this time. When I reached the first peak i was almost disappointed because I wanted more, and then the game pulled the rug from under me and forced me to adapt quickly to a new strat on the go.

Awesome gameplay, inspired idea, terrific art. LITERALLY JUST SO COOL

Aw fr! I'm so curious now, what engine is that?

Oh my god this is such a banger (pun intended).

Such a polished game that manages to be crazy challenging while forgiving enough that a player might stumble into a solution if they're stubborn enough.
COMPLETELY UNRELATED but the only reason i manged to complete the last level was through a bug where you can climb really quickly if you continually press right and tap up and left repeatedly. So on one hand I totally cheated but on the other hand I feel accomplished anyway.

Also you made this completely by yourself??? Massive respect. Awesome work!

This game is so adorable, and really captures the esthetic of tamagotchi 8 bit games that i didn't know i missed. The gameplay was simple, and clear- the mechanics were evident from playing with no need for a tutorial. Adorable pixel art and sound effects. Thanks for the nostalgia! Lovely submission

Thank you so much for visiting our game and leaving this lovely comment! I love comments like these so much, It's so rewarding to see stuff we put a lot of thought and work into be noticed!

Thanks again for the kind words, hope you have an awesome day!

Oh gosh, huge (if late) thanks for this incredibly detailed and kind comment. Thank you so much for taking the time to play our game! We tried to make as much of the mechanics feel naturally tied to the narrative, and Kfir's music was such a banger addition and made everything better. Agree completely about better player inventory communication! Left on the cutting room floor unfortunately. But hey, who knows, maybe one day we'll do the work and make it steam-shop-worthy. Thank you so much for the encouragement. Have a lovely day!

U r so swag for dis (thanks again for playing)

Thank you! Awesome to hear that the final result felt polished! Thanks for taking the time to comment <3

Thank you so so much!!!
Oh god yep time consuming is one way to put it. I'm pretty sure littlepuly still hasn't recovered from the madness of trying to implement my platform crawling enemy's animation. Hubris 100%. But I'm super proud with where we ended up.

Thank you so much for playing!

OH GOD that's such high praise thank you so much for the insanely kind words. I really tried being purposeful with the visual design in this one, means a lot to hear it landed! (also your game is so lovely btw)

Thank you so much! We really wanted a hand animated project, mainly because of my hubris admittedly. I'm so glad it worked out in your eyes, thanks for playing!

Thank you! <3

Thank you so much for playing! I'm so glad you had a good time

Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm so happy you enjoyed your playthrough.
I absolutely agree with you on both the issues you spotted, we ran into them when playtesting, but ultimately had to pick and choose where our attention was needed most. Maybe one day we'll polish up some of the rough corners, I'm so glad the overall feel you got from the game was one of polish!

In any case, thank you so much for taking the time to leave this lovely comment!

oh gosh, just noticed your comment, thank you so much for taking the time to play our games! It's so awesome to hear you liked them

Sound design, graphics and gameplay feel so cohesive in this game. So pretty! Love this take on the theme and the way the sky changed throughout the game. Nice poetry too! Awesome job!

Oh god thank you so much for the incredibly kind words.
I'm so glad you felt the experience felt complete and cohesive, that was one of the big things we really wanted to assure before the deadline!
We actually had a bunch more ideas for gameplay that were cut for time, so it means a lot to hear you say you feel that potential!
Unlockable abilities my beloved, the best kind of abilities.

Thank you for taking the time to play and comment on our game!

Thank you so much!
Hades was definitely a big inspiration and we indeed joked about the parallels while in dev.
I'm glad the whole experience feeling as cohesive as we intended it to be!
I don't read much manga so I'm not sure what you're referencing but now I'm curious!

In any case thank you so much for playing our game!

Omg this was so lovely, each stage was so different mechanically from the others, with the first one being my favorite. Very retro in many ways! The mechanics were fun to discover, but though I appreciated the sprite work, I wasn't quite sure how the second stage worked. All in all this was a really nice and stylized jam game. Extremely awesome sauce!

AAAH OMG THANK YOU??? So much!!! We pushed ourselves to our limits with this game and the whole team is so proud. Getting this kind of reception is so meaningful to us. Thank you so much for playing and for the support!

That's so nice of you to say thank you so so much for playing our game!

That's such a good comparison I love that, thank you so much for playing!

Oh god what an underrated game! There's so much to love here, beautiful sprite work and incredibly witty writing. The music was super catchy and the gameplay itself felt really good!

There were a few bugs that I feel you should know about! On the first level, you don't need to wait for the arrow to walk right, it lets you through right away- as a result, if you do this you never lose one of your abilities, and (worst of all) you miss the witty banter.

One bug that I selfishly quite didn't mind were that the robots had a tendency to get stuck on corners, but when i played the board seemed so stacked in their favor, I just took the W and used it as their weakness.

One quite funny bug that encountered, was that right after I defeated the boss with one heart left, and had my gun shut down- a singular flying drone that came from off screen as I was moving towards the arrow. And, without any way to fight back, was all that it took to kill me. Admittedly used the skip button you added to avoid re-fighting the boss, it was very very appreciated.

All in all this was such a cute and fun game, with really fun mechanics, terrific visuals and awesome audio, and my favorite- a hilariously written sassy AI companion/captor. Magnificent work!

Wow! Never thought I'd see an open world game in a game jam.
The zoom feature is super unique and I love all the different items and vehicles you can find throughout the world.
The different kinds of ghosts are neat too and provide variety.
I just wish the game told you your goal more clearly.
it took me a bit to realize that the arrow next to my character was in fact an arrow haha. still, you nailed the retro esthetic. Great job!

Really really interesting entry!

I love that each of the bosses has a different moveset, and a unique design. The weapon variety is really great too. I think the core mechanics are great and all that's left is just to add that extra oomph.  Also the writing was neat!

Lovely sprite work, especially on the tiles! Really interesting concept too. Sometimes the traumas would clip into the corner of the block when I pressed q and teleported all the way back to the start, which was hard to avoid with so many of them. In any case though, the rest of the gameplay worked great, and the art was really lovely.

Thank you so much for playing! (And for the incredibly kind words too)

OH WOW THANK YOU SM!! That's literally such high praise theres some bangers out there. The story was a large part of what we wanted to focus on this time around, and we had the benefit of having the Main gameplay dev (littlepuly) and the art/story guy (me :D) working in parallel about different parts, so we managed to put quite a bit of time into both! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for giving our project a visit <3

Oh gosh, thank you so much for playing our game and leaving this lovely comment! Your kind words are so vindicating of our efforts, it's super appreciated.

You are also the first that seems to have recognized some of the mythology we used, which is so cool!

Based on your experience with the last level it seems you might have not realized that platforms only crumble when you break contact with them, so you could use them for longer without needing to rush forward.

In any case, your review is super appreciated!! I'm glad you enjoyed our project as much as you did <3

This game is so adorable and fun I love it so much. The art and the impact the gifts have really elevates the whole experience. Adorable concept, and above brilliant execution! Happy holidays <3

THIS GAME IS SO CUTE AAAH. Lovely art direction, music is so good and the gameplay was refined! The only thing that confused me was the cat in the end that batted my ball away. I started out just spam clicking to quote on quote fight him and it took me a bit to get what the game meant and why he was placed there. Fantastic everything!

This is such a lovely art piece. A comment on nostalgia and loss and spiraling into your past version. Enchanting (and really really cool)

Thank you so much for playing! It was out first time doing detailed frame by frame character animation and we really wanted to make it as snappy and satisfying as possible! Yeah I get what you mean about the random build, I'm happy you felt free to use the assist mode to finish the game! That's exactly what it's there for. Glad you had fun! <3

Thank you so much! Unlockable abilities are my bread and butter ngl. Glad you enjoyed them!

Dude that is awesome sauce. Thanks for taking a visit to our game!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your time! Thanks for playing <3

Thank you so much! If you still want to see the end of the story- there's an option in the pause menu called "assist mode" that would make you impervious to damage. In any case, thank you so much for playing our game!

Wow, what a powerful message. When you start it's so satisfying demolishing everything down, especially with the bombs. But as you go on and have to make more and more compromises and realize what you're doing- the tone shifts. Masterfully done! I was so sad when I finally had to let go of my radio. Really great game!

I'm so happy you enjoyed the game! Animating and writing for this project has been so much fun and it means so much people dig it
