This game has excellent game feel. It's the combination of visible environment damage, screen shake, and impactful sound effects, I think
Very fun game
Very funny !!!
This was a fun game to play through... not too long but took me a few tries. Really nicely done!
Loved it, the feel of the presents hitting doors and people felt satisfying. The music was really good, especially the one for the final level. The art, you absolutely nailed it. Feels like something I'd be playing on my Gameboy. Loved how it turned from a shooter to a platformer, and how you can use the environment to ease you way through some of the more frantic parts of the final level. Really great game design
Thanks! I really appreciate all that. It's funny that you bring up the Game Boy because I'm currently working on a game with visuals inspired by the original Game Boy for another game jam. And this one is way more frantic
Looking forward to playing it!
Great game! Love the Christmas theme, it feels very nice to throw presents at people!
Fantastic game.
Great art style and really satisfying sound effects and animation the presents.
Love the new mechanics that get introduced with each stage.
Thanks! I had ideas for more mechanics but I decided to move on since I had other things occupying my time.
One of my favourites of the jam so far.
I like the humour, the heft of the gifts, the animations, the sprites. It's all very satisfying.
I wish the music was more closely matched to the Christmas vibe, but I understand that your choices are limited when using open source music.
Hope to see more from you in the future!
Adam
Thank you for the kind words and feedback! I agree that music with a more Christmas-y feel would be great for this game but you're right about my choices being limited and I didn't feel like digging. Plus I really liked Juhani Junkala's tunes.
I'm sure I'll make another Christmas game before the end of the season for some other jam since I'm always joining them. Maybe I'll find something then.
Great graphics and cover art, gameplay is fast and fluid. Nice work
Thanks! Your game has great cover art too
So violent yet so cute, I absolutely adore this game!
The art is just incredible, the music is fitting and enjoyable, the gameplay is just super fun and unique, and it PERFECTLY fits the theme!
I cannot rate this any lower than full stars. Absolutely amazing work!!!
Thanks! Comments like that help make my day
That was a funny little experience. 5/5 for humor:)
Thanks! It makes me happy when others enjoy my humor
This game is so adorable and fun I love it so much. The art and the impact the gifts have really elevates the whole experience. Adorable concept, and above brilliant execution! Happy holidays <3
Thanks! And happy holidays to you too 。◕‿◕。
Any game that let's you SMASH kittens and old ladies with gifts is great, music was nice, and it felt very well rounded. 10/10
Thanks! Good to hear you enjoy smashing grannies and their cats as much as I do
I loved this! Very fun and worked really well. Awesome job!
A really fun game and an equally funny premise! Throwing gifts at people is very satisfying due to the sounds and screen shake. I got in a flow of going up in an elevator, throwing gifts at everyone on the floor, then going up the elevator while barely even having to walk. It was all great fun.
The time limit helps keep things frantic, too. It was a smart design choice to limit the number of presents available. so the player couldn’t just mindlessly spam them. I like that each level has different mechanics and even some levels combine mechanics, like how the one level has you use boxes from level 2 to get over fires in the last level.
My only nitpick was maybe the on-screen fire effects on the last stage were a bit much, but I was still able to beat the level in one try, so it’s not too big of a problem.
Overall, the game is a lot of fun and has tons of charm and personality. I especially liked the poem at the end and the cheerful dialogue from the main character as she decimated people with presents. Great job!
Thank you! That all means a lot to me. It's one of my favorite jam submissions despite having a couple of issues. The excessiveness of the smoke, for example, was pointed out by one other person so far. I think you're right, I could tone it down even if it is a minor problem.
This was super cute! I really like the visuals, and the game was overall really juicy and felt alive. Good call on the game design though to not let the player spam presents all over. Maybe should've left a lil bit of slack in though, it was a bit frustrating to end up on the last floor just having no idea where the last gift was. It was too bad though, replaying didn't take long and since the game just felt so so good to play, I didn't really mind throwing gifts through the doors again. Great work overall, thanks for releasing this chaotic elf into the world for us!
Thank you for the kind words and feedback! It's good to hear you liked the game enough to replay levels when you missed a couple of gifts. I went back and forth a little on whether or not to put in a few extra places to throw presents so you wouldn't have to worry about missing any but this is ultimately the route I took
really nice work, keep it up!
Really fun game
thx
So far best entry!
Nice game !! very cool
