Score 80110.
I actually enjoyed the game. the ghosts increasingly getting closer and closer kept me on the run and engaged.
there where a few bugs i encountered, like going into negative hit points without dieing or the car kicking me out of it as soon as I entered. The motorcycle was the best and didn't have that bug. I'd also set a min and max value for the zoom and streamline the controls (or make them user bindable, but hey, it is a game jam after all).
I like the survival aspect, i like the music and the desolate open world. good job!
Ahah very funny game
A fun Paperboy kind of game with some light survival mechanics.
I like that you can choose when to stop whenever you want to and the fact that there are so many little items to find scattered all over the world. Zooming in/out is a neat additional but it is very fast and allows you to zoom out seemingly forever, causing the screen to get all glitchy. The ghosts also don't feel like much of a threat when using vehicles, but otherwise a solid entry and I like the concept!

Very fun, environment was interesting to explore and very diverse in the different buildings and decorations. Even with a 1-bit styling, I'm impressed that everything seemed seemed very unique. I love the driving mechanics and how it feels to drive the bikes around; however, not being able to throw mail from them was a major turnoff that led me to end up walking the whole time. I think that the lost accuracy due to speed would be balance enough. Also, the music is too quiet, I did not notice it the first time round and almost gave this entry a zero for music. As fun as sniping mailboxes from across the map and evading ghosts is, I got bored of it. For further development, I think that adding in more intermediary concrete goals (other than deliver as much mail as possible and stay alive) would be useful in keeping the player engaged. Overall, great work, I'd love to see where this goes!
Thank you for playing that is quite a nice score, my record sit around at 123000. Throwing from veichles is something that I want to look into but due to how the game works now that would have made very unbalanced to use it counter to any other veichle in the game, it's an addition I want to add but I have too look on how change the formula a bit. I find myself the best way to highscore is finding the veichle you like more for your route and dropping in and out.
The music is my fault probably because I use headphones and on that seemed working fine, I'll try to ramping it up a notch.
I have this thing these days that I love to design small open world and so most of the time I have sunk in that design(I really wanted to add traffic and other npc around the city) thank you for your precius feedback!
I liked that the game has a REALLY big map and you can just ride and deliver letters - I have a clear goal and I can safely follow it. I was also pleasantly surprised by this little detail that the speed of the car on the road and on the ground is different
I wanted to do more of those terrain difference(like up hill and down hill or rocky terrains) but I had not planned for that. Glad you enjoyed it!
Very cool and unique idea. Liked using the mail throwing to kill enemies then able to pick it up again for delivering.
The world itself felt really big, but maybe because I mostly avoided vehicles due to not being able to throw mail from inside them.
Would have been cool to have the directional arrow remain on screen while pointing you to the nearest mailbox to help avoid getting lost.
Also would have liked the zoom controls mapped to the mouse wheel as that seems more natural in my head, but not sure how it feels in practice.
Really nice entry and cool concept to build upon.
There's a compass close to the light tower that create an arrow that point to the nearest mailbox I was on the fence if giving that straight away and left it as a power up.
There's scrolling with the mouse I have to check it if I disabled it for the html version because that would cause the whole page to scroll down.
Thank you for your feedback
The game starts of as an interesting open-world mailman simulator, but soon becomes something very, very different. A truly unique game that is fun to play, has nice graphics and music, and keeps you invested in playing. I really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed!
Wow, such a great and clever idea. I never would have thought of a mail man theme. For start with everything and end with nothing. Also the open world feels really nice. There also should be a way to throw mail from a bicycle or slower vehicle. Otherwise really great work here and i'm glad I played it
Eheh sure that would be cool but due to balancing issue for the game right now I could not make into. And I spent a lot of time designing the open world and some other component I missed on
Open world game where you're the mail man and all the undead are after you lol I made it to 70k before I lost. I'm assuming there are ways to deliver mail on a vehicle or increase movement speed eventually? The music is haunting! Loved it! The zoom button was helpful to start charting where I was gonna go next.
I was a little confused about the objective, it may help if you put it in the details of the game.
Yes a bit of early instruction more is necessary. No for now there'snt veichle thrwoing I tought about but it would have been really unbalanced for the ones that has the ability and the other that don't. I think it could be a cool addition but it need time to balance it out.
My record is at 123k there's some trick other then mapping around. Taking a fast or off road veichle to drive around and drop in and out helps too
I'll try this to try and get a higher score!
Wow! Never thought I'd see an open world game in a game jam.
The zoom feature is super unique and I love all the different items and vehicles you can find throughout the world.
The different kinds of ghosts are neat too and provide variety.
I just wish the game told you your goal more clearly.
it took me a bit to realize that the arrow next to my character was in fact an arrow haha. still, you nailed the retro esthetic. Great job!
Really really interesting entry!
I was so lost in making the city and the villages that I completely forgot the start. I even made that arrow bigger once but yes It should be made more clear.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed!
